WOW!!! I missed the play ground. Where is it located? I walked around the grounds and didn't even see it. It would be nice to remember it for future visits.
The playground is in front of the 70's building...between the foodcourt and the 70's.:)

I don't think thats right, because I was in the 70's building 6 and walked o the food caourt every morning. I never saw it. And we walked between the 70's and food court and 70's building to get to the buses.

Please help me out with ideas for buildingekection . Have preferred rooms would like lakeside view forquiet and view of Fireworks and close to buses and food court .What do you recommend??Also are the surrey cars for rent??

I think that request is impossible, I beleive. I think lakeveiw is not preferred. I could be wrong. I would say the 50's section would most likely be the best for fireworks, again I could be wrong. But jsut ask for a firework view. But also the lake is the furthest from the buses and the foodcourt. So you can have one or the other. Though the walk isn't that bad. I never saw surreys there, but did see the pictures too. Not sure if they are available or not, as I never checked it out. You call and ask though.

That's right. I posted this earlier>>>walk around the backside of building 10 ( 70's section) and you will see it. My room overlooked the playground.<<<

The playground is located just out of the picture at the bottom left hand corner.

Thanks! Is that the 70's parking lot out there? Just trying to get my bearings!:goodvibes

No, that is the 90s parking lot. Building 10 has the Big Wheel. When walking towards the 70s section coming from Classic Hall take a left at the Goofy Pop Jet Playground and that will take you behind building 10 to the playground.

I have a couple questions (both related to each other):

1. how long does it take to get from POP to Downtown Disney?

2. how long does it take to get from the marketplace to wolfgang puck's in the west side? can we walk there (we'll have a 3 and 5 year old in stollers) or do we have to take the bus? If we take the bus, how long does that take?

3. we get in Saturday around 10 am. we were planning to hang out around the pool, go to DTD, and then eat at WGP. Does that seem like a good way to spend the first day or does someone have a better suggestion?

We'll get there the day before Easter (Saturday) so I'm expecting it to be very busy.

thanks!!

p.s.- I'm really digging all these cute little icons!:dance3:

Are you driving or taking Disney transportation. We drove to DTD and it was probably less than 10 minutes. It's not far. You can walk anywhere, but it is a little ways. I'm not sure how the bus service works there,so I can't help you there. We stayed just on the marketplace side.

It's not too bad of a walk from the marketplace. I am not sure about driving because we took the bus everywhere we went and never had a problem. We probably waited about 10 min for the bus, but it was nice because we just caught the bus from pleasure island instead of walking all the way around to the marketplace side. I have heard that the parking can be kind of rough esp. since the park will probably be a little busier that week.

I think it sounds like a perfect way to spend your first day to just relax and take it easy. :snail: If your little ones are like mine they will be ready to hit those parks hard the next day!

So I can take the bus to the marketplace side and hang out there for a while. Then, take the bus to pleasure island and walk to wolfgang's? Or can i walk from marketplace to wolfgangs. i think i'm confused.

i need more sleep.

Actually the answer is yes to both. :)

However, typically people arrive at the Marketplace and make their way through the shops, heading towards Wolfgang Pucks so you might as well keep walking. Otherwise you need to walk back to the bus stop at the Marketplace to grab the bus. Here is a link to a map of Downtown Disney. http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/ddmap.html You are dropped off at the extreme Right of the map for the Marketplace. Hope this helps!

You can walk from the Marketplace to the Westside. Downtown Disney is not all that big. I haven't been there in a few years, but I'm pretty sure that the distance from the eastern egde of the Marketplace to the westen edge of the West Side is only about 1/2 mile or so.

Pleasure Island and Market Place are right next to each other, so I wouldn't take a bus between them. They are REALLY close. I'm not sure where the bus stop is at Pleasure Island ,but I think the wait for a bus would take longer than walking.

Thanks Jenseib, Looking at the map I was wondering that, But I would imagine we could walk around in the evening anyway. Did get Doctors note for getting Non smoking rooms as DGDs have Asthma. Should I fax that ahead , call or what. I have Pop,s # somewhere is it best to call direct to the hotel>??

We went to the POP for the first tim e in 05 and loved it. We will be going back in June for Star Wars weekends. I can't wait.

The playground is very hard to see. It is surrounded by trees. You have to walk up a little path. My kids had a great time playing there. We stayed in the 70's and it was great to the buses and the food court. :)

I would like to know this too. I just assumed all the rooms were non smoking. DD has asthma and can not be around smoke. I guess I need to call the hotel.

The playground is right before you get "into" the 80 and 90"s section....after a long day....we walked around POP...and this is where our walk ended!!lol...I never even saw the pool there. We found it by "accident"....I would say its perfect for 4-8 yr olds...IMO :) Where have all the baby swings gone to???:(

We booked an extra night at the Pop before our stay at the Polynesian. I wasn't looking forward to it, but the more I read and see pictures the more I am looking forward to it.

My friends are doing a 4 night Magic Your Way Package at POP and their fifth day (gasp) they are going to go to Sea World. I told her she could make the 4 day package ressie and then do a 1 night room only ressie and they should be fine. She was worried about the checking out, checking back in thing, afraid they would have to move rooms, etc. Wouldn't they just let them stay in the same room? Anyone know/have done this??
