Here's the deal... I'm driving to Orlando Saturday the day before our check-in to POP (We are staying at Caribe Royale Resort). My plan is to get to POP as early as possible on Sunday (guessing 8:30am) and doing a pre-check-in so we can get our park hopper passes and run to MGM (via POP bus etc). I'm guessing this should not be a problem, but figured a quick post here would not hurt with so many nice folks posting and replying. :thumbsup2

I've done the same thing in the past. As soon as we wake up we're off to our Disney resort and do the pre check-in thing and off to the parks we go! Have fun!

We've also done the same thing. No problem what's so ever. Have fun! :)

Done it, too. The nice thing about the values, they deliver your luggage to your room without you being there. So, when got back to our rooms in December (checked in about 9:00, rooms weren't ready, off to the parks, etc), our bags had been moved into the room already. At the deluxes (our usual place to stay), you have to be in the room before they will deliver them (and have to be there to have them picked up, too).

So you donn't have to be in the rooms?? When we went last oct. we stayed at POR and did the Magical Express and didn't get our luggage until 10:00p.m. We had arrived there and did pre-check around 10:30 am. This time we also planned on using Magical Express and were worried about the luggage thing, because we want to go to the parks right after pre-check. It would be great if the deliver w/o being there. :confused3

Ok, I'm lost now. Doesn't take much. ;) If your bags are delivered without you being there, who do you tip. The person you leave them with to start with even though that person prob won't be the one delivering them?

I stayed at POFQ last Sept. and did ME. Our bags were delivered to our room without us being there.

For Disney's Magical Express, as long as you used the yellow luggage transfer tags, you do NOT need to be in the room for luggage delivery. And, the tip for the bellman to deliver the bags to the room is paid for by Disney.

If you handle your own luggage, then normal proceedures apply. (You're on your own for gratuity, and you must be in the room)

I saw this asked on another board and I didn't know the answer. When you go into the food court for breakfast, can you get egg substitutes or just egg whites for your meal?

Thanks!

Just a comment.....when we stayed at the POP, we unloaded our bags from our car at the front of the resort with the "luggage storage" folks (I don't think they call it bell services there). I assume my DH tipped whoever unloaded/loaded the cart, but I wasn't with him (I was doing check-in). The bags were delivered to our room at some point later in the day from the luggage storage area and he was told when he unloaded the car that it would happen that way. We were not in the room. So at the PoP, and I also believe All Stars from reports from friends, you don't have to be in the room whether done through ME or personally.
We always do this same thing when we stay at the Poly, AKL, CR, WL - we unload our bags and leave them with bell services, but they will not deliver without you in the room.

At Pop can we request a king room even though there are 4 of us?

I mean, DS is 5 and winds up sleeping with us when we are on vacation and our other DS (he's 2) is in a pak n play. Plus I would think there would be more room for the pak n play if there was just the king bed in the room. I am just going to ask when I call to make the reservation on monday, but I though I'd see if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks!

We are leaving tuesday for POP, which exit do I come off the I4? I have not told my DF where we are staying and want to keep it a suprise until the last moment. I told him it is a cheap hotel by DTD. (there is no cheap hotl by DTD)! Where can I see a disney map?

Can someone clarify this for me. We are arriving at 8:30am on Sunday (our check-in) day and planned on dropping bags off and getting our park passes to run to MGM. We assume an 8:30 check-in would not have a room ready.

We are driving :moped: down the day before and staying outside the park.

Anyway will my bags be delivered to the room or is this an ME only thing? Should I just not worry get my passes and keep everything in the car?

Any help from you experienced people is appreciated.

I dont remeber the exit #, however I always follow the signs for Disney World of Sports complex. They are more pronounced. Then stay to your right, you will see the POP signs!

This will be fine. Drop your bags off at the storage (facing the building, its all the way to the right)...they will bring them to your room once it is assigned! Have Fun!

Disney will only allow 2 plus 1 under 3 in a king bed room. Maybe you could sleep 1 adult/1 child per bed instead of the pack n play. You can request bed rails from housekeeping for the child's side of the beds.

Have a great trip!
