My family stayed at ASM and requested ground floor for medical reasons and did not get it. Oh well still had a good time. Just dont count on getting what you asked for even for medical reasons.

There are elevators in all the buildings, so I don't think they think people need to be on the ground floor for medical reasons. I'm certainly not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just guessing that's what they probably think.

Keep trying, I was able to add an extra night at PC. I still get the rate of $77, I added on the 9th.

I'm frustrated because I wish to extend my package by one night and find that it's "sold out". I can pay rack rate of $110.35 for one nights lodging (no meals) but YIKES .... don't care to spend so much for just one night. Call me cheap .... hopefully someone will cancel.

I was just curious b/c I've heard that sometimes it's delivered when you aren't in the room. Thanks!

We just returned on Saturday from our first stay at POP. I'm glad to report that we enjoyed our stay and will be returning to this wonderful resort soon. We were in the 50's building #2. We had the first floor and faced the pool. When I saw our location I was a bit worried that the room would be noisy. (We are early to bed, early to rise people!) But that was not the case.

The rooms (we had connecting) were clean and comfortable. We had no complaints about the air conditioning or hearing others in adjoining rooms.

The room was close to the laundry which I used frequently. The laundry was expensive ($2/wash, $2/dry) - but that is the case in all Disney resorts.

We purchased the refillable mugs which was a huge cost savings to us. It was so hot, we were always looking for something cold to drink. My only complaint was that the frozen coke machine was not available the entire time. My guess is that they fill it up during certain times of the day and if it runs out - it runs out.

We never ate in the food court. But we did purchase milk and OJ every morning there. Remember if you have the DDE, use it. Even on the purchase of OJ and milk during our stay, we saved $10+.

The CMs were very friendly and helpful. The CMs in the food court always talked and asked questions about where you were spending the day. It was nice and refreshing to talk to someone who is awake and friendly at 7am.

We had our own car and used Disney transportation to the parks 2X. Both times our wait was minimal. (This includes a wait after Wishes.) By minimal I mean less than 10 minutes.

We did use the pool (bowling and hippy dippy) a lot. I had two concerns during our use though. Once there were a bunch of teenaged boys tossing eachother in the Hippy Dippy pool. The pool was crowded and they could of easily landed on and hurt a smaller child. Another time, a parent and a son were using remote control boats in the bowling pin pool. This pool was also VERY crowded and I just wondered what would their reaction be if someone ran into and broke their boat. I just crossed my fingers and hoped that my two swimmers stayed away from them - which they did. I was surprised that Disney did not supply lifeguards for the entire time the pools were in operation. We saw many kids under the age of 12 unsupervised.

Was this just at the Bowling Pin pool? There were two lifeguards on duty at the Hippy Dippy pool when we used that pool in April.

Thanks for the great review. We will be visiting Pop for our first time in Oct. I'm looking forward to staying onsite and comparing it to last year when we stayed offsite.

Just back from a great stay at Pop! We arrived at the hotel around 12:10 pm, by 12:30 we had our keys in hand! All requests were met - nonsmoking, connecting and 50'. We didn't request a lake view but had one! Great view of the fireworks from Epcot and very quiet! Mousekeeping had our rooms done every day before we came back for early afternoon naps. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We used the pools, but not every day. The kids enjoyed the Goofy pop jet area and the Twister game. DD 16 was disappointed that they didn't have surrey bikes, but that didn't decrease her enjoyment! The bus system worked well. They double and triple bussed as needed. We never had problems with a morning wait because we get going early. We didn't have any problems with the rooms. Everything was GREAT! We will be back!! :moped:

Both the Hipppy Dippy and the Bowling Pin pool were open until midnight. I believe the lifeguards left between 9 - 10pm. Both incidents occurred later in the evening (~10pm).

However when the pools were closed during the day due to bad storms in the area, the lifeguards remained on duty and watched the pools. Once I witnessed a a guard tell a family that the pool was closed due to lightning in the area and that they could not swim - go figure!

Not sure what you meant. Don't you think it's dangerous to swim in a lightning storm? Sorry, if I'm just not reading your post right.

Hi,
Just wanted to write and say I wrote Disney asking about the non-smoking rooms and they said the following buildings were non-smoking.
2, 3, 6, 7, 9, and 10. and the other buildings were a mix of smoking and non-smoking.

I would double check if you needed if for medical reasons, in case something changes.

Just wanted to pass on what they told me.

Sonya

Just wanted to say that we just came back from a 6 night stay and it was awesome!! :Pinkbounc I think we enjoyed the POP more than the All Stars. I really liked the lobby with the shadow boxes of things from the "past". Really brought back some good memories of growing up.

I did walk around the whole resort and found it peaceful. I enjoyed reading the signs of things that happened in the certain decade.

The bus service was great. Many times we only waited a couple of minutes for a bus.

The food court was good. The CM's were very helpful and friendly. In fact a couple hours after check-in there was a message on our phone from the CM that checked us in, stating that if we needed anything to call. I don't know if this is a new service that all the resorts are starting to do or just the POP, but I was impressed.

My DH and I said we would definately go back.

We got a call almost every day from the girl that checked us in, reminding us of certain things or just telling us that she was down at the desk that day to help us if needed. I thought that was so cool! We did have some super interaction with her when we checked in but she went above and beyond. I spoke to her superviser while we were there and they said she is always latching onto people (they said it in a funny, good way :teeth: ) and that they are worried someone will want to take her home and they often have to remind people that she would not make a good pet :rotfl: The whole interaction was hysterical and we just LOVE this place!

I'm leaving the 6th and I'm still looking for the answer to this. Thanks everyone!

You don't have to tip the luggage delivery people upon arrival, only if you use them to pick up your luggage when you check out. HTH :)

When we were there in June, the lifegaurds left at 10pm. They would make an announcement to let everyone know. Security would come by at Midnight(sometimes later)& tell everyone the pool was closing.

I was only telling them that because another poster told them they would get what they wanted if they indicated medical reasons. Which as you can see is not true.
