The GROOVIER New Pop Century FAQ Thread! ~ Post #1 is a must see!

We booked with a TA and have a preferred room. We are also traveling with another family and requested ajoining rooms. I called w-Disney and was told they could do nothing for us and they was no such thing as room requests you get what you get when you get there. Just wondering if anyone has changed from a preferred room to a standard and was refunded? After looking at the map(we were Pop clueless at the time of the booking, Thank's soooooo much for this thread!!!) we like the standard fourth floor rooms? Anyone?:confused3

That is incorrect. You can make request, but it doesn't mean they are honored. Have your TA put it in with your reservation. Most likely you won;t be able to since you booked with a TA.

I don;t think that is true. I'm pretty sure I have read that there a few with two double beds connecting. Unless it has changed. But I know it has been posted in the past.

Ok read further and saw that it was corrected. English Rose..I do beleive some of the Kings are NOT handicap, but again I think they are very few.

I can't speak to ASM, but I wanted to point out to those on this thread that all of the connecting rooms at Pop have one room with a King, and the other with two doubles. You'll see that in Post #1 in one of the maps that show where the King beds and Accessible rooms are located.

Just wanted to let you know that we were in the 50's building #2 , RM #'S 2170 AND 2171...and they were ground floor pool view connecting rooms and both had double double beds! I called to inquire about this because we have stayed at asmu and had connecting rooms and gotten a king and a double and they told me that all are double double connecting rooms unless otherwise requested. I don't know if this is true or not but thats what they told me and ours as I stated were both doubles and connecting;) Hope this helps those asking.

Okay...I'm going back and updating my post where I errantly made a comment about the type of beds in connecting rooms because we now may be causing more questionable beliefs by making more comments about that after it was clarified. ;) That way if anyone reads that post and reacts with a response before reading the remaining posts in the thread, we can avoid more confusion! :) :)

I was thinking.......

Perhaps the reason for responding to a single post before reading the rest of the posts is the fear that you'll forget to comment on those of interest to you. I can completely relate to that as I sometimes have a couple of pages to read to catch up! So I'll take this opportunity to mention how to do the "multi-quote thing", because I know not everyone knows how to do that.....

Typically, you select the [ Quote ] button to respond. If you want to reply to several posts, instead of selecting [ Quote ], select the [ "+ ] button that is right beside [ Quote ]. That button will then turn an orange-red. If you decide for some reason that you no longer want to reply to an individual post (like maybe you see a question was already answered or you want to respond later with a picture included or something to that nature), then click on the [ "+] again, it will no longer be orange-red. Once you're ready to reply to all the posts you want to, then select [Post Reply] that is on the left-hand side of your screen and immediately below the last post on that page. It's a very handy dandy tool! Sometimes I get a little too multi-quote happy!

Thank you for the lesson on mutli quote. I had been trying to this and it was not working for me. I appreciate the step my step directions. I am very computers illerate. I am really :thumbsup2 enjoying this thread!!! And have learned so much. Thank you.

Oh WOW! Thanks Buckeye Gal! I had no idea how to do this before! And I wanted to add a great big thank you for all the work you do on this thread  . I've been to Pop twice before and going back in December, but yesterday I added two nights at POFQ because it's been my dream to stay at all the resorts at least once. It's really hard when you love Pop so much you keep going back! But my point is that the POFQ FAQ thread is not updated regularly like yours, so THANK YOU! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :worship:

You're welcome!

DisneyFreak06, no worries...we won't call you a trader! I think it's awesome that you make an opportunity to check another resort off your list. Great dreams!!

If you want your rooms to be connected, call your TA and have them add a request for CONNECTING rooms.

If you want your rooms to be adjoining (i.e. next door to each other, but no connecting door) then call your TA and them add a request for adjoining.

I have always thought the preferred rooms were over rated.
If there is availability in standard rooms, they should be able to switch your ressie, and refund the difference, if you ask BEFORE you go.

If your TA cannot do all this, you may need to get a Disney specialist next time, or do it yourself.

And the CM on the phone was wrong. They do take requests. They just are not always able to honor everyone's.

Happy planning! :wizard:

I guess that's a good deal if you need park tickets, but we're AP holders, so that works out to ~$208/nt at POP for 3 of us. - so not really a deal. Do you think the tickets could be used toward future AP passes, or would they be tied to the package and therefore unusable past the stay?

I believe what most people do is buy a one day ticket and not use it and convert it when they buy a new AP . I believe I read that you only need to purchase a one day park ticket to get the free dining! Don't know if this helps as I'm not to positive on this I do remember reading it if you post on the Free dining board I'm sure you'll get some good answers! :thumbsup2

If worse comes to worse disney will have your ressie in their computer I believe it's anywhere from a week to 4 days prior to your visit I don't quite remember but you could fax a request then or call the hotel directly and have them add it to your ressie then if your TA can't but my friend used triple a this past time and he was able to add requests thru triple A . I don't know if thats who your using but I know he did it through them! Hope this helps.

Thanks

We found it helpful. We were on the dining plan and we had extra drinks and food from the plan. We ordered from garden grocer and had some life savers: milk, apple juice boxes, grapes, and squeeze yogurt. These were perfect for a light breakfast when we had 10 am ADR's. We were in a fridge swap, so it worked out perfectly.
