This link is the map that shows the prefered locations. You can find this link on page one of this thread. Of course Disney could have changed the prefered locations since this map was created but I haven't heard that they did...yet.

::yes:: In addition, there are links in Post #1 showing preferred rooms up close with room numbers for each individual building.

Exactly. So when I called to put in my location requests, I was surprised (to say the least) to be told that all of the 60's buildings are preferred only. As I said, I'll just wait until before we go and fax a request down. I'll put down 60's and 70's buildings and I should be fine. :goodvibes

Most of the people at CRO are pretty sharp, but every now and then I get one who doesn't know room locations or amenities - well, not like WE know room locations and amenities! :)

July seems to (always) be lean for the Fridge Swaps. We have July 10-19 open and then are pretty booked until October 5-19 (Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving....that has me :confused3 ) And then finally October 26-November 24. I sure hope that we (all of us) can fill dates, and, more importantly, help someone get use of a free fridge!

Does anyone know if RAC has the one bag/two bag allotment sorted out at POP. I booked way last year, and am entitled to 2 bags/passenger. Fingers crossed that they know that!:hippie:

From looking at the maps, it appears that none of the preferred rooms have a parking lot view. Is that correct?

The last time we stayed there, we were in the 80s building per our request and although it was a standard room it was not too bad. But this time, we will only be there for a few nights so I thought we would try a preferred room and have requested the 70s building. What do you think?

I called my TA yesterday and asked her to request a fireworks view in the 60's building for us. We booked a standard room so we'll see what we get. I can't believe we'll be waking around Hollywood studios at this time next week:cool1:

Hi everyone,
Sorry if this is not the right place to ask, but I am confused. There are SO many fridge swaps (which is great!). Does anyone know if there is any availability for us to participate in a fridge swap at the POP from 12/9- 12/14?
Thanks!

Our fridge swap is booked for those Dec dates, but we have a week open in July from the 13-20, as well as others later in the year. It is free and includes a toaster and a coffee maker! Check out my signature if you need those dates. The 1st post has all of the open dates for you! Good Luck!

If you don't have time to look at all the Pop Swap threads, I suggest posting your inquiry on the budget boards being that's where the swap threads are located.

:hippie: Whenever we stay at Pop Century I always request a preferred room in the 60's area overlooking the Hippy, Dippy pool on the 3rd or 4th floor. So far I have received the location each time. We just love waking up each morning looking out over the pool area. If I were you I would call with your building request ASAP and not wait before you go. At least you could say you requested this location a while ago and hope you receive it before waiting. Have a great time.:thumbsup2
Have you ever stayed on the ground floor of this area? If so, was it terribly loud? I'm leaning toward the ground floor because of our two year old and his stroller, but am thinking a higher floor might be a little bit quieter.
Thanks!

On our last trip we stayed on the ground floor at POP in the 60's bldg. I did not find it at all noisy, and the pool was right there so the kids could go to the room for a snack, by themselves, and I did not have to worry.

Did you request ground floor or were just given it? I'd like to request it, but I have several other requests (60's building, poolside, king bed) so I don't want to bombard them with too many requests because I know the more requests I have, the less likely I'll be to get what I want. What all, if anything did you request when you got 60's building pool side, ground floor?

That was preferred right????

Tell your GG CM which building you are in and also I would fax the information to the resort about 5 days before your stay.

I just have to add that ... I adore Pop Century!

Last Friday night several people were 'picking my brain' about planning a trip to WDW. They asked me about the different resorts where I've stayed. I've stayed at a moderate, a deluxe, another deluxe: Shades of Green, and a value. The value (Pop) is my favorite.

We're going again in Oct. and staying at Shades. I told my DH that I'd almost rather cancel our ressies and stay at Pop. He wasn't for it but then he's never stayed there.

What a great source of information you all are. I've never stayed at one of the Value resorts before but I'm looking forward to my stay at POP. I need to go back and browse through all of the great info here. I've already printed off some and put in my folder for my Aug. trip. :thumbsup2
