Is i true that Preferred rooms are only on the first floor of certain locations? I requested a Preferred room but on the 4th floor...so am I paying Preferred rate for a "non preferred room"

All floors are preferred. Not just the first.

Are you referring to the little "theater" for videos the kids can watch? If so, it's truly NOT a theater. It's a little sitting area near the check-in desk.

In case that's what you were referring to, I've gone back to Post #1 and reset expectations as that word is indeed deceiving!

I think the OP with question about 'theater' had gotten off topic and was asking about Fantasmic.

Nonetheless, it was a word/point that should have been cleared up in Post #1, so there was good that came out of the question for us here!

Can someone tell me why you'd need to buy a checked bag. I don't plan on doing laundry while we're there and we're staying for 13 nights. We both are planning on taking one carry on and one (large) checked bag. Do I need to purchase the checked bag? (We're flying AirTran)

Some (or it seems most now) airlines require yo uto pay for each bag you are checking. For some the first checked bag is free, but now it seems most of them make you pay for every bag. Some are only alllowing one checked bag per person, while most allow two (but you have to for one or both).

Have you ever stayed on the ground floor of this area? If so, was it terribly loud? I'm leaning toward the ground floor because of our two year old and his stroller, but am thinking a higher floor might be a little bit quieter.

We stayed poolside 60's, and had NOT ONE problem with noise

I called today and made a request for the preferreds next to Dippy pool. I also requested our rooms be on first floor. 4 of us will have handicapped scooters and it will be easier.

We are a Grand Gathering of 17 with 5 rooms total. So here's hoping. No matter what it will be wonderful!!

From my family to yours we hope you have a wonderful vacation. We leave in 3 weeks from Chicago. We are not too use to the hot, humid weather but we are still going for it. Have a magical time.

We never stayed on the ground floor but always had a stroller with us for our dd. Each building has an elevator so being on a higher floor should not make a difference with your stroller.
