We will be at POP on JUne 25- July 3 i have a question concerning how Gay Friendly Disney is. We are Getting Married in Canada on June 15 this is our Honeymoon we are 21 and 19 and are worried that if we wear both groom mickey hats will it seem to be an issue? We Both Work at a local nightclub and witnessed several hate crimes and were the focus of a few. we dont Flaunt our lifestyle or even Have PDA (public display of affection) as we do not want to influence others or children. But how safe is it for us to be there? we would not go on Gay Days since we heard horror stories!

Quite honestly, I've seen LESS PDAs from gay couples than straight couples. I'd prefer not to see any PDA from anyone if I can help it ;) I don't think it would be an issue at all.

Thanks you guys we feel better going now at least I do i was the one with some worries!

I can't wait i only heard good of pop!
How's The crowd end of june and early july?

Out of ALL DIsney resorts my little ones (9, 6, and 2) like this one the best! It's a little small but really, who cares, when we go to Disney we only sleep, shower, and dress in our room! :o)

Crowds will be high, and so will the temperatures. Just tour EARLY, rest and swim midday and dine and be entertained at night. You'll have a blast!!:goodvibes

We will be making our first trip to WDW in Dec. 08. We are staying at POP and are so excited. My DBF just told me 228 days and counting. He actually bought a pirate calendar and wrote the numbers, counting back all of the days! POP looks wonderful and our DS(10) and DD(8) wholeheartedly agree. See you in Dec.!!!!party:

Your lifestyle is your choice and really is nobody elses business . Hate crimes of any sort are what is wrong!d created us all and loves us all, I'm sure there is much sorrow in Heaven over HATE crimes . Go and enjoy the Disney Majic and ignore other peoples synical views!! You sound like a wonderful couple:love:

They are the same as last year, except there is no date on the mug, whereas last year they had 2007 on it. All the mugs at the various resorts are now generic. Very boring now IMO.

My apologies if someone else has posted this, but I'm only on page 37 of the thread :surfweb: But last September I got this cute ceramic mug at Everything Pop as a souvenier. I don't remember the exact cost, but I remember thinking it was pretty cheap (around $5.00 maybe)

I searched the first post but did not see anything about ice buckets. Are there ice buckets in the rooms?

Thanks,

I definitely have to AGREE :thumbsup2. I travel to WDW often with a gay friend, and haven't noticed anyone backlash from it. I say your life, your choice.

I don't remember seeing that mug when we were there last May but I could have just missed it. Hopefully they are still there in December because I would like to get a couple of them. Thanks for posting this! :thumbsup2

One more question (for now, anyway) ...

Does Pop have extra bedding in the rooms (like an extra blanket or pillow)?

TIA!

I know there was extra pillows, can't remember if there was blankets. But you can always call mousekeeping and they will bring you some.

That's always been my point. Unless you're a honeymooning couple, exactly how much time do you plan spending in your room? There's way too much to do at Disney! :thumbsup2
