I reached the "teens" today in my coutdown! Only 19 days to go! I am pretty sure I found the answer as yes to my question about every room having hair dryers. But my question is we will arrive at the airport at 9:00 and then take magical express to POP has anyone ever been given a room that early?! I am just curious if we may recieve our room so we could go ahead and decorate?!

I think that you wold be very lucky to receive your room that early. But you never know, we got ours around 1 pm last time.

When I made my ressie the CM told me 60's is preferred now, is that true? She said it used to be sections of 50's , 60's & 70's :confused3 . Also are the beds really hard? I need a softer type mattress or I will never be ab;e to sleep. Thanks in advance.:)

OK! Go back to the first page and read thru and there is a link posted that you can click on to see a map of the preferred rooms! The Most are in the 60's from the looks of the map so chances are better that you would be further back there if it was a busy time but if you requested 60's you could say I would like to request sixties building#1 if that is the closest and you may get that request.

There seems to be more than one type of thermostat in use at various resorts so here is another set of instructions:

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

These instructions were from a post regarding BCV,OKW and it worked fine.
TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS

5. PRESS THE F/C KEY

The last set of directions MAY work. I jsut got back and the first two definately won't work as ther is on ON/OFF buton or power button.
We were just fine though. DH actually thought the room was cold most of the time. He also bought DD a baloon the moment we walked in the park so I put that in the way of the motion sensor each night. The ballon flopped up and down all night, so it I think that helped too.

Jenseib...how was your trip? Sounds like it was nice weather, according to 1 of my students who got back on Thursday. I had 2 students there this week actually! I hope you had a great trip!

Here is a sample of the one I faxed today. I will let you know if it worked after I get back next week.

Attention Room Assigner

Hello from Ohio! Brrrr!

I would just like re-confirm our reservation and see if you could possibly accommodate our room requests.
Our Reservation number is ________. We are booked for March 2 -7. There are 3 of us, ________, __________, and ___________ (3 years old). We would really appreciate if we can get first floor (because we have a stroller and hate elevators), 60’s section (because Claire loves the Jungle book), and poolside ( because we hope to be near the baby pool.).

If you have any questions my home phone is ___________. My cell is ________.
Our home address is

Thanks you for your time and consideration. We are excited to be seeing you all soon!

When I listed our names I put DH first as the reservation has his name listed first for everything.

Well my fax must've worked, or at least helped!
We got EXACTLY what I asked for. We were first floor, 60's, two dooors down from Baloo and mowgli, right smakc across from the baby pool, and diagonally from the flower pool. Awesome spot!
DD loved swimming!
Almost everyday she went for a swim before we headed off to the parks.
Unfortuantely though, swimming made her really tired out and she was jsut getting over the flu from two weeks ago. She was tired alot, and kind of grumpy at times. She ended up sick again on Thursday. So DH and I took turns staying with her in the room. We did make our dinner that night, but she was not her usually hapy self. We also went to Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique on Friday AM for our appointemnt, whcih she talked about all week, but when we got there ,she cried and said she was scared and shy. So we ended up NOT doing it. The ladies were really nice and tried to talk her into coming in, but she was just not having it. She wouldn't even let them sprinkle pixie dust on her, which is the one thing she was most excited about. So I bought our own assessories and did a make shift do on her myself.
All and all it was super fun.

I tried to take in as much as I could, so if you have any questions, ask away. I think someone mentioned they had caffeine free coke, they do NOT, for those wanting to know.
The refillable mug is a great deal. I bought one on Monday and filled it about 3 times jsut in the first couple of hours. I told DH to take it for his one cup of coffe he drinks each morning. He thought there was a catch. He though he would have to pay for each use, and I told him no, it's free each time. so the next morning he went and bought one for himself. We got more than our moneys worth on those.
they were doing continous maienance while there. (as they were last year too) We watch them doing some painting of yoyos and cauking around the pools. As well as painting the big year icons.
Ate lunch in the food court for the first time and it was pretty good. I didn't care fot the nachos supreme I had one day though. The tiedye cheescake was a big hit for me and DD.

Just wandering how far in advance you sent the fax, we will be at Pop in June and was hoping to get the 60's again. Last year I just said we have always been in the 50's and could we try something else and they gladly put us there. This year we have several rooms and I was thinking the odds of lucking up on a good room would probably be slim.

Glad you had a good trip, sorry your DD wasn't feeling well. My DS3 is very shy with new people so I can relate to your BBB experience. It's sad though since she was looking forward to it. Do you think it was quiet enough where your room was? I didn't request 60's because I'm afraid it will be noisy. I did use a similar fax to the one you posted.

We left on a Sunday, and I sent the fax the Wednesday before.
I really loved our location. I didn't think there was much outside noise at all. I actually heard some noise from one of the rooms near us, more like bathroom noises. I think it was from above us. but not bad.

BTW, love the new pic in your sig. Your daughter looks like a Disney Diva. :rotfl:

Glad you had a good time.

Thanks. We got a free photopass picture from booking with AAA,so I quickly scanned it when we got home. She pretty much has a grumpy face in ALL her pictures!
I also wanted to tell you all we got a new towel animal everyday, (except the day she was sick and we didn't have mousekeeping in. It started with a dog head in our window and then we got 1 or two more each day...a couple of rabbits, a full sized dog, and some birds. That was a real treat for DD and she would sleep with them. I'm going to post our window and other pics in the pop picture thread eventually.

Maybe if you buy a bottle, but not at the fountain.

My Aunt told me they have it in the fountain, she and my Uncle are Caffiene Free Diet Coke addicts and they've stayed at POP several times. This is the ONLY place in all of WDW that has it. .:thumbsup2

I have read they have it too, but it must've changed, since I was there all this past week and looked, and never found any. I was a bit disappointed and DH even made fun of me being a bit more hyper, probably from the caffeine rush! LOL! I did try to drink some sprite and lemonade too, to lessong the caffeine intake.

We had an AMAZING 2 weeks at the Pop Century and I want to THANK all the people who posted on this thread! We had a great time and the weather was perfect :thumbsup2

Let me know if you have any questions!

(There Feb 1-15th - 2 connecting rooms on the 4th floor, 60's building over-looking the kiddie pool. The ONLY noise we really ever heard was the occasional shower running - but, it was very quiet)

It was still there in Oct 2007, that was the last time my Aunt was down there. We're going in Dec, I'd better warn her to ship a box of CF Diet Coke down ahead of time.

Can someone help me understand the map of where king rooms are. I just don't get it. I want to request a standard king room we are traveling with our DS and he needs a tub for baths. TIA

Does anyone have any good pictures of the food court I have seen all of the ones on allears I was hoping for something with menus.
