I was stayed at Pop for the first time Dec. 4-12. I loved, LOVED the themeing. I also loved the store and food court. I found things at the store that I didn't see at WoD store. I had some fabulous meals at the food court.

Loved the Asian Chicken Salad. I could go for one right now. I also had the Chicken Alfredo that was recommended on his thread. The tie-dye cheesecake was pretty good, also.

My room was quiet and my bed was surprisingly very comfortable. I crashed every night. I stayed in the Jukebox building in the 50's section, 4th floor, facing the lake.

It took maybe 5 minutes to get from room to Classic Hall. One night, I saw the fireworks at MGM from window. I could see the top of ToT from my room. I also could see from my front door the top half of S.E. at Epcot. My last night there I watched Illuminations with the holiday tag AND just to left of that I could see Christmas Wishes at MK. :thumbsup2

So I LOVED Pop but......

Major bus problems when I was there. Pop was running close to capacity. On the 4th it took me 1.5 hours and at least 7 busses to get from Epcot back to Pop. I had even waited 30 minutes after park had closed before getting in line. I walked out of Epcot at 10:30 and got back to Pop just after midnight.

One morning I was trying to get to Epcot for a 10 am meet. I got in line a little before 9 am and I didn't get to Epcot until 10:15.

I'm hoping the bus problems were a fluke. Someone posted a few pages ago that they were there the week after me and that their buses were 20 minute waits.

I have a trip scheduled in late May for Pop. I sure hope that we don't encounter bus problems. My friends that are going with me are newbies and I want to show them the magic of the Disney bubble.

How was your transportation all of the times that you've been to Pop?

Re: Transportation issues

I am certainly not an expert but we were there Nov 26-Dec 3 and we found the busses to be very efficient...from POP and back to POP. I do hope it was just a fluke that there was long wait times. The most we ever waied was 20 minutes and that is even at closing time. There seemed to be extra busses on at those times.

That might have been me. The longest we waited was 20 minutes, the 16-23rd. But the resort really wasn't crowded.

Were you there during pop warner or another large event? Good to know not to visit there at peak times. I did note that they were not able to handle the crowds in the food court the weekend we left. It was a big mess.

We were at POP last May (15-23) and will be there again this May. We love, love, love this resort ! We never waited longer than about 10 or 15 minutes for a bus anywhere, found the CMs to be very helpful, loved the pools, shopping, food court. Mousekeeping was fine - nothing spectacular, but the rooms were always clean, lots of towels and always responded quickly to requests. We had a fabulous time all round and we're looking forward to our next trip !

This is completely OT, but I love your name!!! If I ever have a daughter her name will have Gillian in it somewhere (first or middle name)

:)

Sorry...back to Pop! I am thinking of going during October (Columbus weekend...) Is that a hectic time do you think?

Yes, Pop Warner was going on but I didn't see groups of kids on the buses or waiting for a bus. I did see them in the evenings in the parks and DTD but they were well behaved and didn't overwhelm the park.

Someone said it was because there were so many wheelchairs and scooters staying at Pop (there were quite a few) but that's probably normal. So I'm :confused3 as to what was up with that.

I'm happy to know that the day before and the day after I left it was back to normal. It must have been my bad bus karma. :hippie:

We stayed at POP from Dec 21st through the 30th and we never waited more than 20 minutes for a bus...now the bus was crowed but ran steady and trust me the hotel was packed and so were the parks...in fact the parks were so packed they actually closed Disney on the 24th and 25th....if that helps....

I stayed at Pop last year and loved it the buses were great, just packed at park closings. We too encountered hold ups for wheelchairs but I had no problem with that. Glad I didn't need one! We enjoyed the food court and I can't wait for my next Twinkie Tirmasu. The chicken alfredo was great also! Mousekeeping was great we had plentyof towels and loads of towels1

Hello. What time we should leave our rooms at POP to reach the Hoop Dee Doo Review 9:30 show in May? I think we need to arrive at 9:00 and am not sure how long this trip will take. Also, just to make sure, we take a bus to MK and then a Boat? Any information, details would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much!

LOL, thanks. Believe me, it would be a lot easier having that name now than when I was growing up. :)

I'll be making that trip on January 16th for the 5pm show. I've been told to allow for an hour plus. Best route ... bus to MK and boat to Ft. Wilderness. I'll report on that when I get back.

I love your name too:rotfl2: Only because it is my name. I hated it growing up too. People still think I am saying joanne etc.. and no one ever knows how to spell it Oh well;)

Subscribing! We will be at Pop on the 19th and I can't wait. We told the kids that the trip was their Christmas present...little did they realize that it was really ours and we are using them as the excuse!

Hi everyone! We are arriving at POP on Feb 2 for 8 nights. :dance3: We stayed here for 2 nights while we evacuated during Hurricane Katrina, but it was tacked on due to Rita coming through, so we really didn't explore the resort at all (I think we were in the room, watching TV the whole time!)

Last time, we stayed in the buiding close to the bowling pin pool (maybe 50's)
Anyway, for this trip I had originally booked a preferred room but had to change to a standard b/c that's all that was available with the free upgrade. We like to be as close as possible to the food court/main building for the early morning coffee run. Does anyone have any suggestions on what buiding I should request?

Quick Question:

We are staying at POP from 1/25-2/2 and we are going to Cinderells's Royal Table on friday, Feb 1 for my b-day and our reservation is at 8:25am what time will the buses start that morning?? Any idea?
Thanks
Nichole

I had an ADR for 7:30am at the Poly on my trip in Nov and stayed at POP. I had no trouble getting there because the first bus to the MK came at 7am. The CM I spoke to the night before when I called the front desk told me the first bus comes at 6:45 for early breakfasts(turned out to be 7am). I still got there with no problems. You should be fine for 8:25am. :)

Subscribing - Thinking about POP for a little 3 night before our cruise in August. Thanks for the info! :goodvibes
