I know it has been asked before about the Arcade at Pop WEll I finally found my notes on tickets!!
$1 - 50pts
$5 250pts + 25 bonus pts
$10 - 500 pts + 100 pts
$20 - 1000 pts + 250 pts
$25 1250 pts + 750 pts
It all goes on a card that you use on the games!
Hope this helps!!

That does help--a lot! Do you remember the payment options for the card machine? Is it cash only, or do they take CC's or room charges? I'm thinking I'll have to do this for my kids in Sept. TIA, you POP expert, you!

Ok I know this will sound silly but can someone help me out. This will be our first time flying and we are flying out of Nashville non-stop to MCO do you guys know how early I need to be at the airport to check in?! Our flight leaves at 6:05am so we were thinking to get there about 4:00am..That sound right?!

Yes, that should be fine arriving at 4!! When we fly out we are checking in around 2 hours early and that has always been plenty of time!!

That sounds right. Be sure to find out what time your airport opens too. I'm assuming it is a big airprot and will be opne early. We have a local small airport and one time we flew out pretty early. We arrived at 6 AM and none of the ticket counters were even open. We had to wait somewhere between 1/2 and an hour till we could even check in. It was about 6 months after 9/11 and it was recomended to get there really early. But I never even thought about the airport not being open that early. We could walk in, but nothing was open for the most part.

Earlier this evening, I did add Englishrose47's info about the points-to-the-dollar in the Entertainment section of Post #1. If you go back to Post #1 of this thread, I do have the payment options listed, and last weekend I found a picture of the machines that shows the info Englishrose47 gave us as well. So check out the link, too!

Not silly at all. We live in Nashville and have always flown to Orlando early in the morning. You really don't need to arrive earlier than 4:30a. Our airport doesn't open until 4:00a anyway, and the first flights are normally no earlier than 6:00a.

The shuttle service from the economy/long-term parking is frequent and quick. We generally fly Southwest and always use their self check-in kiosk -- it really speeds up the entire process for checking bags and getting your boarding pass.

If your flying Southwest, you'll be fine if you're in the terminal by 4:45, otherwise be at the airport by 4:30.

Have fun in Orlando!

Ah, yes. When all else fails, read the FAQ. Thanks to both of you, englishrose47 and Buckeye gal (my bff went to school in Dayton!), my ds will be in video game heaven 6 months from now! Thanks again!

I know exactly what you mean. And yes, Pop has that certain Disney smell. I noticed it as soon as I walked into the lobby last December. Can't wait to smell it again. Come on 60 days.

Thank you, I wish I could bottle that smell up...Yankee Candle could sure use it, they can call it "awesome" or "vacation" OR! "magic"

Glad we had answers for ya! I hope he has a great time and you don't go broke! :rotfl2: I hope you saw the couple of photo links in Post #1, too. If I remember correctly, there are also more arcade pics in the "DIS Pop Picture Posting" link towards the top of the post.

Ohhhh....if your BFF is from Dayton, I know they also got hit with a load of snow last weekend! I think someone from my Disney Cruise Meets thread said they got around 15". We got a record 20.5"!!! That's a lot for us.

Enjoy watching your ticker tock down!

:thumbsup2 BRILLIANT!

We are going to be at Pop for one night this trip. It looks like such a fun place to walk around and see really neat things. If we wanted to check out all the POP stuff in the morning, how much time would it take to see it all? Is it very spread out?:confused3

Also what kind of food does the food court have for breakfast?:confused3

Thanks.:)

Hey all, I just got back from a short stay at Pop (3/11-3/15). Just thought I'd share a few observations from someone who stayed once before, in Feb. 2004, and has stayed at both moderates and deluxes as well. It was around $140 a night for preferred room at Pop during a busy and more expensive time... we were quoted over $400 a night for Wilderness Lodge for the same dates (Woods view).

I want to say up front and clearly, that for the price difference, it was definitely a decent value and by no means am I trying to disaparage the resort- we had a good time there. I just felt I should share some of my feelings on my repeat visit (after really enjoying it last time around)... the room was clean and nice looking, although I'd say some details were definitely missed (i.e. the top of the drawer on the nightstand was all sticky when I opened it). The ambiance of the resort was just as I remembered it... over the top, but very fun and cute. I was impressed with the location of our room. We were in the 70s, 2nd floor, room 265, very close to the buses and food court. I appreciated that for the extra money, they definitely did make it worth it, especially since my mother, who has some trouble getting around anymore, came with me.

The beds.... HORRIBLE. Apparently when we stayed there before, the beds were still new enough to not be a problem. This time, both of the double beds in our room had NO give to them whatsoever... they were literally like lying on the floor. Probably because, as we discovered, there were multiple pieces of pressed boards between the mattress and the box spring/base. Now, this may not be the case in every room... we talked to a guy at the bus stop one night who was complaining about his bed.... he had the opposite problem, his was so worn and "squishy" that he could feel every spring in the mattress digging into his back... I just found it incredibly ironic that they would put a brochure in the room for their "resort collection" featuring plushy mattresses, fluffy pillows, nice sheets & blankets, and thick absorbent towels. It was like a cruel joke. Nonetheless, I have to say, at least it is a place that wears you out, so frankly, I still slept alright, cuz I was so tired at night. I did wake up with some back aches though... not fun.

The food court was better than I remembered, albeit at times a bit chaotic, though not the fault so much of the resort. LOTS of people abusing the mug policy, using old Pop mugs, other resort mugs, personal water bottles, etc. They have a really nice variety of stuff in the food court- for breakfast you can get just about anything you can think up, hot or cold. I also really like the "mom's dinner" thing in the evening with the tv trays. The food was good and it was a decent deal.

Noise wise, it was more or less what I expected- some loud people end up just about everywhere.

Bus service was excellent. We stayed at Port Orleans on one of our last trips and were constantly annoyed by the numerous stops and crowdedness of the bus. It took forever to get ANYWHERE there... here we were on the first bus almost every time and almost every time we were able to sit. Buses were timely and clean and efficient.

The people working at the Pop were extremely friendly and helpful and efficient.

All in all, it was a good stay. I would consider staying there again, if budget was a major consideration, though the bed experience makes me think I'll save up a bit longer next time and at least take one step up to a moderate to save my back (though the bus service makes me think better of Pop...).

If anyone has any questions I can answer, let me know... again, this was merely my observations, I know some people probably don't have issues with the same things I do, so take it all with a grain of salt :)

Thanks for the post, Laura! I'll be staying at PoP for the first time next month, so I found it especially useful. We were going to stay just the first night there, and then move over to ASMo, but as I thought more about it, I decided to switch the whole week over. I was hoping I had made a good decision, and except for the bedding issue, it sounds as if it should work out fine. Like you, I anticipate being exhausted to the point where the bedding won't make that much of a difference. :)

Great I,m glad my info was that important to be:thumbsup2 added to page 1 I,m feeling very proud!!

I think the beds must be different in each room. I have heard others complain too. Some too hard, some squishy. I've been very lucky. I have a horrid back and alot of times I bring an airmattress when we travel. Both styas for us have had wonderful beds. I didn't ever wake up sore once. We have a really expensive mattress at home, and I worried boith trips, but I was jsut fine boht times. I have heard if you don't like the mattress they will move you, or even bring a new matress to your room.

Thank you so much for the info. When someone said see what time they opened I hadnt even thought about that! Thanks so much for the useful info. We are flying southwest so thats a few more minutes sleep! LOL!

We'll be checking in this Thursday. When should I request a pack & play or bedrails?

This request should've been in your origional reservation so you should call right away and put it in.
It depends on the childs age, and how many are i nthe room too. If there is 4 or under, you could do either. If you child is under three, and not used to sleeping in a bed, I would do the pack &play, but if the child sleeps in a bed already then go for the rails. We have never used either. My DD was sleeping in a toddler bed the first time we went, so DH and I each took a bed and gave her the choice of who she wanted to sleep with.
Some nights were with me and some with dad.

Anyone out there from around New Hampshire? My dd is going with Aunt and Uncle to New hampshire to see some cousins she hasn't seen in a few years over our spring break which is The 21st- 30th of March! And I was just curious how the weather is there compared to South Jersey?

Not from NH but close... just there last weekend. Cold and wet.... Depending on where in NH she is going. They've got plenty of snow if that's what she's looking for. Always best to layer up there. Nights can be down right cold... and days warm enough for a heavy sweatshirt.

Hope that helps
