How exactly does this work?
I bring my laptop, use the ethernet cord, get charged $10.00 per 24 hours by POP/Disney. Do I get charged anything else by anybody else?:confused3

That is pretty much it. I just hooked it up, opened my browser, agreed to the terms and a charge of 9.95 was on my room bill for each 24 hours period I used.

If I don't bring my laptop- is their pc access anywhere close- is it free or how much does it cost? THanks, Jen

I'm staying at POP for the first time in two weeks! I am SO excited to finally be trying POP. It took a little doing to talk DH into a value, so I hope it is as nice as everyone says! I'm trying to decide if I should call with any special room requests. I didn't pay for a preferred room (didn't seem necessary), we are traveling with MIL and would like adjoining rooms, we will have a rental car, so proximity to parking would be nice, but MIL may use the bus so proximity to the bus would be good, too. We have stayed at POR before and from what I can tell POP seems a little less spread out. Is that a correct impression? I just can't decide what to ask for in a room! We will also be traveling with an almost three year old, so we'll have a stroller to contend with. Where are the elevators located? Maybe I should ask for near an elevator and near the parking lot? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

If I were you I would ask for the Lady building in the 50's. You would be close to the foodcourt/busses and close to a parking lot. Pop is a LOT less spread out than POR. The elevators are just behind the icon on the buildings so right in the middle of the building.

Just back from Pop.

A while back someone asked if they had whole milk in 1/2 gallons at the food court. They had fat free, 1% and whole milk in 1/2 gallons.

Individual room climate control is by default motion sensor activated
To override the default setting, following these instructions:
the thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)
Press the Power button and the Down Arrow at the same time. If done correctly, the letters BP should appear in the temp readout. This indicates that the thermostat is in bypass mode (bypassing the motion sensors). You can then set your desired temp and it will stay at that temp whether you're moving around or not.
You will have to do this once every day, as the thermostats automatically reset themselves to the default mode daily to save power.
Alternatives…get a helium balloon to bounce around in your room or call housekeeping/maintenance

This did not work last week. There wasn't a power button on the thermostat.

There were three buttons along the bottom: fan only, fan speed and Auto.

And two on the right--up and down. And the range was 68 - 78. You could not set anything lower than 68 or higher than 78.

The helium balloon trick really works--wish I had done it earlier in the week!!!!

On the old thread it said it didn't work for POP. Those work for alot of othr Diseny properties, but Pop is different. I think there is a set of directions that tell you how to do it, but alot have said it didn't work as well. The bes thing t odo is ask maintainance.

Does anyone know if Pop is one of the earlier or later stops of the Magical Express? The reason I ask is that our flight is coming in later on in the evening and was debating whether or not we should just rent a car. With two little kids in tow after a long flight, we'd like to arrive at Pop asap! :o)

Thanks!

I have never rode it myself, but from what I have read, you can never be guarenteed, but alot of times they have a pop only bus, or pop is the first stop more often than not.

I'm sorry, Belle1962, that these instructions were not previously caught as being non-applicable. I've gone into Post 1 and removed the reference. Thanks so much for your feedback after your trip so we can properly inform everyone here!!

That looks like a good spot. That's building 1, right? I was thinking that or the Walkman building look good. I can't wait!!

Small refrigerator for rent $10/night; free for those with medical needs

hi, you said here that fridges are free with those with medical needs, is this still correct, as a member of our party has diabetes and needs to keep her insulin cool, espically with the hot weather.

do i need to tell POP before we arrive, or will it be fine if we just tell them when we check in (we will be checking in late around 10pm)???

Hello! They'll certainly make arrangements for you at no cost. I would suggest asking this be noted on your reservation, then confirm they took care of it as you check in.

Have a safe trip over the pond and a fun holiday!

I would tell them ASAP and have it put on your reservation. I have heard they can run out of fridges.

I have heard they are all the same fridge, (medical or not) so don't know for sure how big they really are.

I'm not sure howsmall but I haveheard they are not anywhere neara as big as the ones you pay for but I have also heard if thay don't have any medical ones they give you the bigger ones. You might want to check out all the fridge swaps to se if one is available for you dates!!
