Thanks, after I posted my message I saw yours, thanks for the info about City Hall at MK.

They don't have bell services per se, but they do have that storage area where you can keep stuff. I have no clue on the hours though. Can you maybe see if your main luggage can jsut be sent to GF right off the bat, since you won't need it till then?

You don't say how you are getting to Pop Century from MCO. But, I'll assume you're using DME because, if you were driving, you would just leave the luggage in your car, right. So, if using DME, your luggage won't arrive at the resort until several hours after you check in. When you check in ask that they hold your luggage for you in storage until the next day as you will already be asleep.

Then, the next morning, go up to the Front Desk to check out. Verify, that your luggage has, indeed, arrived. And, ask that they transfer it to GF as you will be checking there later in the day. It should be no problem at all and go off without a hitch.

They can't deliver your luggage directly to GF as the special yellow tags are bar coded to tie to your reservation.

Hope this helps.

We are flying in at 9:30pm. And our travel agent told us not to use the Magic Express tags, to claim our bags ourselves. That way we wouldn't have to wait for our bags to get dropped off.
But we'll still be able to be use the transportation.

Thanks everyone!! I never even thought about DME just holding them overnight :headache: When we check out in the AM, where will the bags be?? (We are planning on taking a cab to the GF and want to bring the bags with us rather than having the resort do the transfer). Do we go to the luggage service room to claim them? TIA again!

Yes, they will be there. When you check in be very specific with your request as the luggage will arrive at the resort in the wee hours of the morning. Request that they be held in Luggage Services with your name on them. Make sure that you have something on them that makes them very easy to identify (especially if it is black or blue). Should work like a charm!

Once again (or maybe still), I'm losing my mind. I was just about to call our travel agent to make our location request and I've gone and gotten myself all confused. This is what I want:

Close to Classic Hall, fairly quiet, something with a view of the fireworks.

I was going to ask for a top floor room with a Lakeside View in the 60's building.

Am I on the right track? I've scrutinized the maps, cross referenced with other maps, checked the resort pics page, etc... It's just hard to picture since we've never been.

Dizneydaz YOU ROCK!!!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!

So some advice....

I got a pin code in the mail yesterday and have Popped booked now (at a better rate than before) and it's obviously a non preferred room so...

Where are the best room locations thats are:
close to the main building
near a main walkway (i'm traveling alone)
In the 50's or 70's Section
and
on an upper floor?!

Thanks everyone!!!

When we stayed at Pop in April, we had a room on the second floor of the 70's building. It was a great location-just to the left of the big Mickey phone, and a very short walk to the hippy dippy pool and main hall. It was also right on the main walkway.

Hope that helps :goodvibes

I was wondering what others experience is with doing laundry at Pop Century. How many machines are there? Are they really busy? Can I do two loads (two machines) at one time?

Has anyone shipped to Pop Century with Fed Ex Ground? Is it worth it? (We were thinking of sending snacks and breakfast food?

Without a car, where can I get a loaf of bread while at WDW?

Thanks.

hi guys,

i have booked a standard room at pop and have just been looking at the locations of the preferred room. From the looks of it, preferred rooms are only on the 1st floor of certain buildings.

Does this mean, i could potentially get a room on the 2nd floor of the 60s building close to the food court?

seems unbelievable if this is true!!

It does thanks!!!

I'm going to print out the map pages for the 50s and 70s and take 'em with me and see what I get!

Hmmm! I'm not sure about this but I'm thinking that 4th floor lakeside Bldg 3 (50's) or Bldg 4 (60's) would be your best bets to get fireworks. Can anybody else speak more definitively about this one? Hope you have a great trip, JuliaK. Here's some pixiedust: to see you on your way.

I believe that preferred rooms are on all 4 of the floors that are highlighted in yellow. See preferred room map:

Last year we stayed in bldg. 3 facing the lake. I requested 4th floor but got 3rd. We could see FW from Epcot, MK, and DHS. I plan on asking for the same this year-nice location. :goodvibes
It was also a great view of the lightening storms we had several evenings.

A guest laundry room is next to each pool, you use your room key to get into just like the rest room there or your hotel room

It is set up like a normal laundry, about 8 normal size washers and two extra large front loader machines in each laundry room to my knowledge. They also have about ten normal size dryers, maybe more. Like any laundry you can use as many as are available at the time, so laundry can be done quickly if machines are available. Be sure and pack some quarters with you for these machines or there is a change machine in there too. Laundry soap, bleach etc is sold in there, but much cheaper to bring your own from home.

There are adequate folding tables in the center to fold or hang stuff before you return to your room

We stayed on the 4th floor Playdoh bldg(60's) we were NOT poolside. It was quiet and we could see Illuminations from the balcony. Our rooms were precerred but others close by were standard !!

As I recall there are 6 wasing macines or maybe 8 and about 8 dryers , if 2 machines are open you sure can do 2 loads , I have , As for being busy mornings tend to be busy, I'm careful not to say early mornings as someone said they always found it empty at 5am!!:rotfl2: When people return from parks is busy too.
I have mailed packages using USPO twice with no problems. I didn;t think it was that expensive !!

We also make ressies at O'Hana's or Kona so it is a destination as well as the attractions. EWP usually runs about 9 pm but it depends on Wishes and what time it shows. I always get there early, remembering to ask the waiter for a to go cup for our beverages. Finding a beach chair is seldom a problem as few folks seem to know about this.

Silly question...what is EWP?
