I've never used online check-in at Pop. The longest wait I've had was about 10 minutes, probably not that long. I'll keep doing it the old fashioned way. Maybe I'll help save a CM's job.

I am arriving at MCO at 930am and think I will not be using online checking because I am guessing it won't be that busy. I have yet to decide what I will request but did book a standard room. I want close to bus, pool, and food court. What should I request. I think I want 1st floor too? Not sure... What are pros and cons for that?

I have never used online check in at pop. The line moves extremly fast and is really well organized. Out of all the resorts we stayed at POP really has the most efficent check in system. Both times we have stayed there they had someone in the lobby standing near the check in line. Making sure things were running smoothly.

I've only stayed at POP once before, but I can agree that at least that time it was such a quick and seamless check-in. I just read the 2011 Unofficial Guide and even they said POP has the best check-in of any resort in WDW.

Anyone else have this issue? We have enough money set aside so next week we can upgrade to CBR. But I don't want to do it. This should really make me happy. But for some reason I'm having trouble doing it. We are going for 10 days so I was thinking the bigger room and pool would be a plus. But I'm just not feeling it. :guilty:

It would be cheaper for us to upgrade because we are getting 2 rooms at pop but I just don't want to either. I like Pop and the kids are very excited to stay there. It was actually their idea.

I can't upgrade this time because it would be too much money for us. But last time we were at CBR and we LOVED it! So pretty, awesome pool with a slide, always a nice looking walk to the food court and pool through the little island in the middle. And we didn't think the bus took too long to loop around.

I think some of it is we have never stayed at CBR so I'm sort of uncertain. But I'm sure we will love it. :) Just seems weird I'm in love with a value resort. I have one week left to truly make up my mind.

Speaking purely selfishly but I pay for a preferred room which is suppose to be close to bus, pool and food court- seems unfair for you to get the same but only pay for a standard room.

She will probably get a standard room that is close. Pop is built that alot of the standard rooms are fairly close to the main area.

There are plenty of standard rooms that fit those needs. Why shouldn't ctnurse be entitled to them?

I said I was speaking selfishly. I pay the extra to guarantee that i get the room she described. I am to afraid of getting a standard room way out in the 90's to not pay. I would never be lucky enough to get a room right on the edge of the preferred section.

I didn't get the impression she was looking for a free upgrade.. there are also plenty of standard rooms that fit what she described as well.

IMO you should always book the lowest category that you can afford or want and then if you get an upgrade fabulous! It almost sounds like you are saying no one should get a room in a higher category that what they booked. :confused3

From what I understand from reading this thread there are standard rooms that are close to bus, pool, and food court that are NOT preferred. Hopefully, not being selfish I will get some pixie dust. I hope you have a great day, and trip I know that we will.

Thanks Kelly that is what I am hoping for and if not I will be happy just being there:goodvibes

I like the way you think!;)

Nope not looking for a free upgrade at all...if I needed a preferred room I certainly would have paid for it. Like I already said I will be happy wherever my room is. I am looking forward to POP since I never had stayed at a value and have heard great things about it.

One of the kids breakfast includes applesauce. Is in a little sealed cup? I was hoping to bring it to the parks as a mini-snack.

TIA.

Yes, I would expect the apple sauce to be in a sealed container with a Mickey peel off lid. I have yet to see Disney apple sauce with quick service meals not in a sealed container.

Yes it is. We even brought a few home with us from the last trip since the kids aren't crazy about apple sauce... I have a stack of these little containers in my pantry!

EpcotBill, do you make any room requests?

If so do you add them to your reservation ahead of time, and then make sure they are honored when you check in? Or do you wait to make your requests in person?

I ask because the last two times at Pop I added requests to my reservation, checked in online, and both times the requests were honored. With the changes to the reservation system, however, I've been wondering about checking in online or not for our next trip in August. If you have success with room requests and not using online check-in, I may do that this time.

I'm not sure what changes are being made, but I checked in online last trip (2009) and I still checked in with a person at the desk. My requests were honored as well.
