This little calculator/planner has helped us so much when we've had to decide where to be and what time to be there :) You can use it or you can call down and talk to guest services as well, they are very good about giving you times and showing you the best way to get to another resort or restaurant. Anyway, here is the online calculator/planner.

Wow! That is amazingly helpful! Thanks so much!!

Thanks. I get it. :) So if I am staying at POP and have an ADR at WCC at 5 I want to be getting on the bus at 3:30?

Everyone is so helpful and I really appreciate it!
Here you go:

Wait for Magic Kingdom bus @ Pop Century----0-20 minutes

Travel time to Magic Kingdom----15 minutes

Walk from Magic Kingdom Bus Depot to Wilderness Lodge Boat ----2 minutes

Wait for Wilderness Lodge Boat----0-15 minutes

Travel time to Wilderness Lodge----10 minutes

Walk from WL Boat Dock to WCC----2 minutes

Total travel time----29 minutes to 64 minutes.:)

A 3:30 start should allow plenty of time for things such as loading/unloading the bus and boat.

Thanks so much, everyone! I hope I am not wearing out my welcome, but here's another question:

Can anyone give me an approximation of how much to budget for the following?

Taxi from POP to WL

Taxi from DHS to POP

Taxi from POP to MK

Thanks again, everyone!! :thumbsup2

This one I'm nt sure. But since CBR is in the same area. I did see someone that went from CBR to the CR for 12.00 and that included tip.

Be very careful using this. There are some serious inaccuracies, including suggested routes that don't actually exist. You would be much better off posting transportation questions on the transportation board.

I have heard all kinds of crazy prices wit hthe taxies...but I oulw expect 20 each way. If it's less, then thats great. I would have them quote you a rpice before getting in.

Thanks. :) I tried that, but unless I am missing something (which is entirely possible) they don't list POP, WL, or DHS.

I'm going to guess that if I budget $100 that should get me these trips and maybe one more??

Thanks again!!

Not sure about your plans, but I'll butt in and say that the bus ride to and from DHS to Pop is really very short. Once you're on the bus it's typically 10 minutes or even less.

I plugged a bunch of resort addresses into the Mears Taxis estimate site, based on leaving from Pop Century this is what I got for a one way fare.

Polynesian Resort $16
Animal Kingdom Resort $18
Grand Floridian Resort $17
Fort Wilderness Lodge $18
Wilderness Lodge $16
Contemporary Resort $17
Yacht Club $9
Boardwalk Inn $8
Beach Club $8

Like a PP said, buses to and from the parks aren't too bad. I probably wouldn't waste the money on a Taxis. However to and from another resort, yes I absolutely would. We added up what taxis would cost us and figured it would only be about $100 more to have an SUV for the 10 days we are there, so we opted for that.

Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

That was very helpful! Thanks so much!! I see now that I could have just entered the addresses... duh. Thanks :) I think we will use a taxi between resorts, and I just wanted to know for DHS to POP incase our meal before we leave runs late.

Thanks again, everyone!!

In case anyone else could find the info useful:

Taxi estimates from Mears, all one way trips w/o tip

POP to MK $15
POP to DTD $13
POP to Epcot $8
POP to DHS $9
POP to AK $10
POP to WL $16
POP to TL $8
POP to BW $8

Thanks for everyone's help!!

You won't need to take a cab from DHS to Pop. They will run buses until every last guest is gone. I wouldn't take a cab from Pop to MK, either - it's easier to just take the bus.

Good morning all! :wave2: Just back last night from our 4th stay at POP.

We had a pool view room in the 80's second floor - I can now speak from experience that having a room facing a pool is NOT a quiet place to be! Fortunately my kids and DH are not light sleepers, but I was definately up many nights listening to kiddo screaming until the wee hours. :sad2: It was a great location for having a car - and it was a 6 minute walk from the food court to our room.

Our room was immaculate and mouskeeping did a great job. :)
The food was was very good as always - I do have TONS of pictures (much to my kids embarassment) of all the menus and prices of all the offerings from the food court. I will post them soon as soon as I get sorted here..No Twinkie or Twinkle Tiramisu.;)

Weather was PERFECT! 90's, sunny, not too humid..rained only 1 night and 1 afternoon during our stay. Crowds were not bad at all - totally managable (even over the holiday week end). :)

We upgraded to the Regular DDP from the Free QSDP - we have used it many, many times in the past - and for the first time we realized it no longer works for us. We had 9 TS credits and after 7 underwhelming meals, we converted the last 2 for QS meals at the Food court. I have always been a huge advocate of the Regular Dining Plan - for the first time we were very suprised at the decreasing portion size and quality of the food...Next time we are either going to get the QS plan or skip it completely.

Even thought we had a wonderful stay at POP, we are definately going to take a break from it for our next trip - I don't know if it is because our kids are getting older, or DH and I are getting older;), or after so many trips we just need to change our vacation strategy.... but we need to slow things down more...spend more time relaxing during our vacation - and we definately need more space. POP worked well for us when we were in the Parks morning until night...but it is definately a high energy resort...and there is nothing relaxing about the pool areas. We still found it to be a bright, fun, clean resort - and I would recommend it to anyone! But we most definately need a change of pace. :)
We visited several resorts during our stay and have decided to book AKL for our next trip.
If you have any specific questions, I would be happy to answer them and hopefully will get the menus and prices posted within the next day or two.:goodvibes

Thanks for the review. I do love Pop too, and have stay 4 times there now as well. I am going down in Aug for a Travel agent program and staying at the Yacht Club...which I am very excited about, but I am flying in one day early and ecided to try out AS Movies this time. I may hate it, but I have always wanted to give it a try, and since I'll be alone this time, and can get a feel for it and decide if it's right for my family or not. Of course after staying at the Yacht Club, I may become a deluze snob. LOL! But I know my DH will never go fo that.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great info on this thread! We are headed out in the morning for our first stay at POP and we couldn't be more excited :yay: Tomorrow afternoon I'll be lounging by the pool with a drink in hand :cloud9:

This is the best resort for theming and Disney's cartoon styles! Your family will love it as well as the food court, store and pools. I hope you see this tonight because there is a terrific arcade there as well!!:surfweb::thumbsup2:cool1:

Just so excited and have to share...it has been 5 years since our last trip to Disney. All trips were as a single mom, I remarried 2 years ago, saw my daughters through college and talked my new hubby into a 5 night trip prior to our cruise this fall. Well, now both daughters are joining us and I couldn't be more excited. Youngest daughter is bringing her boyfriend and we get to introduce our love (okay, obsession ) for all things Disney to these two newbies! Yay!!!!!!!! 141 days and counting.....

There was a thread about the Goofy pop jets not working, of course now I can't find it.

Anway, can any recent visitors confirm if they're still not working?
