I honestly didn't experience paper thin walls at Pop. We had paper thin walls at the Holiday Inn Express on the way home. We heard every bounce of the little girl jumping on the bed next door, every footfall inthe hallway, and every car that went by outside. This was not the case at Pop for sure.

The only problem we had with "paper thin" was the toilet tissue! We will bring our own the next time. Other than that our 5 night stay (we returned home today) was great. Clean room with a great location - Bldg 7 room 7102, first floor and right next to the Computer Pool.

We heard the toilets of all rooms with adjoining plumbing. The noise issue was with the room that connected to ours and the people above them retaliating. Didn't hear a peep, except plumbing from the people on the other side of us, but then there wasn't that door connecting the rooms either. That might have made the big difference.

I am wondering if you can buy the small cartons of milk at the food court? We are thinking of bringing some single servings of cereal for my DS16, he is picky breakfast eater. :goodvibes does anyone know if these are available and how much they are on average?

My son got a small carton of milk with every kids meal. I don't know the prices though, because it was included in his meal. sorry.

This morning I learned the very sad news that one of our POP friends, Minnie Lor, and her husband did not survive the Joplin, MO tornadoes yesterday. Lorie was a long time DISer and wonderful friend of GKTW. She and her husband had just returned from a WDW anniversary trip on May 21st. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayer are with their family.

RIP Minnie Lor. Your smile will be missed.:littleangel:

My condolences to Lorie's family - how terrible. May she and her husband rest in peace. :littleangel:

It isn't too expensive for Disney if I recall - a carton of Mickey Milk, which my 8 year old DD loved, was under $2.

According to a Pop thread by another diser milk at pop is as follows:
half pint $1.49
16 oz $2.19
1/2 gal $3.19

I keep hearing about the toilet paper being terrible. Is it that bad? We've stayed at ASMo before- years ago and recently we've stayed at CBR and CR and I never noticed the t. paper being thin. Is POP's different or did the values get stingy? We are staying at POP for the first time in Aug.

In March, at CSR we were given Angel Soft as the tp. Last week at Pop, it was Reliable 2 ply sheets, not angel soft.

Terrible news. My heart goes out to Lorie’s family as well as others who have lost loved ones. Tragedies like this, certainly brings to mind that we need to appreciate life every day, remind others how important they are to us and live life to the fullest.

If anyone is interested, there is a FirstGiving page established by another DISer ( Maroo) in Lorie’s memory, where you can make a donation to Give Kids the World (GKTW).

Very well said!!! That is how I live my life and will continue to do so! When a tragedy like this occurs I always think that I could die tomorrow and would be happy with what has happened up until this point. My thoughts and prayers with everyone that was affected.

Ok on a happier note. DS 7 and I will be staying at POP for the 1st time in August for 10 days. We have always stayed in Mod or Deluxe before but we are trying POP.

I booked a standard room...Where are the good ones, close to the pool and bus stop. I really don't care about noise cause we can sleep though anything.

Also, what is the story with the buses? I have read anything from great to horrible.

Any other info would be appreciated since I know all the other resorts we have stayed at like the back of my hand, but never researched the Values.

My son is really looking forward to POP. I showed him the pics and he freaked out!

For people staying in rooms facing the lake, does anyone have photos of the grounds/view taken from their room itself, or just outside the door?

I'm wondering what the grounds/view look like when you look out the window, or open the door and walk out.

Ok I tried adding 60's section facing the lake again. I was told again by diffrent cm those are prefered rooms again. UGh. So I just went with 50's facing the lake. My dd wants to stay in one of the lady and tramp buildings. so I may just keep what I have. I can see some of the tramp rooms face the lake. Also looks like some of the jukebox ones do also. But I don't really care to be close to the parking lot. Should I have just of said building 3 facing the lake?

Disney REALLY needs to update information concerning preferred areas for the call center CM's!

The lake views from 50's bldg 2 are not great (that was our first POP stay in 2004). We've had bldg 3, Tramp, 3 times and some those rooms (13 and 32 -36 esp 4th floor) have some of the best lake views - as well IllumiNations views.

It's about a 4 min walk to the food court and bus. :thumbsup2

There are plenty of bldg 4 rooms with a nice lake view and bldg 5 & 6 of the opposite side of the lake.

Good luck and hope you get a great view!! :goodvibes

When you get to Pop if you don't like your room assigment just say switch me please . My DD did that and although they couldn't do it that day they switched us the next and we had Standard rooms in the 60's section, however the 50's does have a better Lake view !! The Cm's don't always know what they are talking about !!One told me that adjoining and connecting are the same !! Okay if that's what you want to thinl lady, but I know different . I asked what my ressie said and it said adjoining and I said great that's what I want . Connecting is harder to get!!:rotfl2:but she doesn't know that:lmao:
