Kelli, we've stayed at POP many times, both preferred and not, and I'm with the group who will not pay the extra for preferred. We have also stayed at all resort levels, many deluxe, and the walk from POP to any room is shorter than most deluxe walks unless you have a room very close to the main bldg at Poly.

So, what I would do for POP is request 60's bldg 5 or 4, or 70's bldg 6 - all of these have rooms practically as close as the pref rooms and some are even closer. My personal favorite would be any of those bldgs, 4th floor, lake side. Quiet, pretty and not more than 3 min walk to the Food Court.

You're welcome! As you know,m there is no guarantee they will honor the requests, but when you arrive at the resort be sure to ask the CM about the room location first thing and if it is not where you hoped, ask if they would try to find you a room in one of thsoe locations. It is wide rage of possibilities, with 3 bldgs so they should be able find you something, if not that day, the by the next morning.

I would list the request something like this:

bldg 4, 5 or 6
4th floor
lake side

We leave in a week! First time and I am panicking at all the things we need to do yet. AHHHH.

Here are a few questions:

if you got preferred what room requests would you put in? We already paid for the preferred. We will have two small children with us and are renting our own car so dont need to be close to disney transportation.

Also, how do you go about making the requests for your room? Do you wait until you get there? call them? fax them... and if you fax them, what do you put on the sheet? SOOOO confused!

Then, we did online check in the other day. It said I could ask for two requests from the following 4 options : pack n play, fridge, early check in and ground floor. I picked pack n play and fridge as we will need both for our 2 month old daughter. Well it comes up that the online check in went through, but they were un able to accomodate my requests. What does that mean??/ So I called Disney directly and the lady seemed to be kinda ditsy but said that I should request both of them when I check in at the desk and that there shouldnt be a problem getting both. Have you ever had a problem? I am kinda freaking out as we need both!

None of the prefered rooms are really close to the parking area. I guess you need to choose do you want to be close to the pool? All of the prefered rooms are near the food court and pool. But some of the 60's section is right there at the pool.

I wouldn't worry about the request. I always ask for 60's facing the lake and get it. If you don't get what you need at check in just ask. I think the fridge is now 12.00 a night.

For making specific room requests, such as building or floor, you should call again and add those to your reservation as well. Despite what that CM said, I would expect you can add the pack 'n play and fridge requests to your reservation too, although getting a pack 'n play also should not be an issue. You can obtain one from housekeeping if it is not delivered to your room.

Since you have paid for preferred then your room will be in either buildings 6 or 10 (70s), 4 or 5 (60s) or 1 or 3 (50s). Since you have rented a car you may want to request building 1 (50s) to be closer to parking.

I can't believe it's almost here. Hotels booked for the drive down. Mostly packed and I still have 2 weeks left. Call me the ultra planner. ( it's an annoying trait) Even if I have to make sure 6 people have everything they need.
