Well - we are getting soooo close! I have decided to *live on the edge*;) - We have not made any room requests. We have stayed in the 80's, 60's and 50's previously and enjoyed all the locations... so I think we will leave it to chance and see where they put us:eek:. We will have a car so depending on where we end up, I may want to ask for something closer to a parking lot...or maybe not! Not quite sure! I am not going to do on-line check in, in case I want to negotiate our room location.
On my list of things to do is take pictures of all the menus and pricing - if anyone has any other questions they would like answered while I am there, please let me know! :)

From me too, Could you find out if at Pop they have the TWINKLE Tiramusu !!It was a favorite of mine and then was taken off the menu, but some of the menu boards have it listed as Twinkle , it used to be Twinkie !!!!

I am so jealous!!!!! We can't wait to go down in September and it seems so far away! I love Pop and just plain enjoy the resort! The new renovated rooms are really nice and the people there make it such a nice place to stay.!:cool1::thumbsup2

Hello everyone! I'm new to the boards, been following for a few weeks now and finally decided to join after booking at the Pop resort.

My first trip to Disney was almost 8 yrs ago and i'm sure some things have changed a tiny bit. And this is my fiance's very first Disney trip and I must say, even as a 22 yr old he is very excited.

I have a few questions for all you expert Disney goers; What are some good restaurants (table service credits) around the parks? How good is Pop for granting requests; we requested a king size bed for our stay. Any MUST sees for a first time Disney goer? Our trip is over our anniversary and my birthday, are there any extra special things in Disney one can do?

Thank you && Looking forward to everyones advice :)

Welcome :flower3:

We love Liberty Tree Tavern and Whispering Canyon.

I requested a room near where I stayed last time at Pop and I got 1 door down. Thats pretty good for fulfulling my request. :thumbsup2

We ordered a cake at Pop for our anniversary and it was small but so worth it!! Yummy and only $25.00.

Also, get the anniversary/birthday buttons. I really enjoyed all the cast members special treatment. They also gave me flowers and balloons twice.

I'd pick some place really nice for your anniversary dinner. We went to Crystal Palace (I'm a kid at heart), but I got sick and couldn't eat a thing.

I hope you have an amazing time and welcome to the boards!!!

We have two connecting rooms booked at POP the end of August. (assuming our request is granted of course)

When you are leaving a tip for mousekeeping, do you usually leave one envelope for each room or combined the two together if you are in connecting rooms?

Tell me what you have done in this situation.

I have never needed connecting rooms. But I guess I would leave one in each room.

Me also. Cannot wait to get back to pop. Love the resort. I think we have found a home. The price allows us to stay for longer trips and the Free dining we have been able to get the past 3 years has been awesome.

As far as granting request. The past 2 times we were at pop they were granted. I have always asked for 60's lakeside and both time it was granted. I plan on ordering a cake for Dh 40th birthday while we are there. But I haven't figured out that one yet. I think I'm going to order something from the disneyflorist and then get a cake.

My dd wants to stay in the 50's section this year. She loves lady and the tramp. So I think I will request 50's lakeside.

Welcome to the pop thread...

If you were going to stay preferred, which building would you request and why? Thanks for any advice. :)

Kelli, we've stayed at POP many times, both preferred and not, and I'm with the group who will not pay the extra for preferred. We have also stayed at all resort levels, many deluxe, and the walk from POP to any room is shorter than most deluxe walks unless you have a room very close to the main bldg at Poly.

So, what I would do for POP is request 60's bldg 5 or 4, or 70's bldg 6 - all of these have rooms practically as close as the pref rooms and some are even closer. My personal favorite would be any of those bldgs, 4th floor, lake side. Quiet, pretty and not more than 3 min walk to the Food Court. :thumbsup2

Hope this helps! Happy planning! :goodvibes

(sending lots of PD and prayer! )
