We also used Garden Grocer on our last visit. We got bottled water, diet coke, and lots of breakfasty and snack items delivered to us. I highly recommend them for the convenience factor, however I don't think DH and I will be using them again in the near future. They had a $50 delivery order minimum, and honestly, we left our room at the end of vacation with over half of the stuff we ordered. Maybe if we had a family with us we'd get more bang for the buck. This time, we will just buy water and whatever else what we need OOP at Pop, and since we are on the DDP, I highly doubt we will need to buy that much. I bet we will be WAY under the $50 Garden Grocery limit, and since we won't have a fridge this time (stayed at CSR last time with a fridge), it will work out to be a much better deal for us.

Does anyone know if Pregnancy is one of the Medical conditions that the refrigerator fee is waived?

I really want a fridge to keep milk, cheese, yogurt and water cold. But the cost is really getting to me, I keep thinking of other things I would rather spend the money on. Like taking DS to the Pirate League.

We may use a cooler instead and just add ice every day.

Ok all booked at pop with our FD. Yeah I love saving even more money.
Does anyone have any idea how much a taxi cost to the nearest grocery store?
Dh needs some adult beverages and we need some milk. I'm thinking since we just need a couple of things a taxi would be cheaper.

I definitely think a taxi would come out costing more.

I know needing one for breast milk isnt. My sis and I will both have nursing babies and they said its not a medical condition- which I know but I was hoping!

I know there is a WHOLE thread about shipping to the resort. I have read it.
but can someone give me a quick answer...

We are going to POP in September. We will have 2 kids in diapers. How do I send diapers, wipes and snacks to the resort from Amazon?

Thank you!!!

We have been taking a taxi from POP over to Publix in Kissimee the last 2 years and will do it again this year. It cost us $18 for the taxi last year and I'm sure it's gone up a bit this year. Even if it was $25 it is cheaper than the minimum $50 charge from the Garden Grocer. There is also a drug store on the corner and a dunkin donuts next door. so it is very handy site with 3 great stores at it. There was a low cost tourist store next to dunkin donuts also if you want to save money buying post cards, T-shirts, etc. from Disney. :surfweb:

I am trying to think of a cute saying for my window decoration. I was thinking about "Having a POPPIN' Good Time". Does anyone have any cute sayings that they have seen?

Since we are there over the holiday I am doing a patriotic Mickey theme. Someone posted a link to the Family Fun website and it has different holiday themed Disney printables. I am also making some Mickey heads with a flag theme to make magnets for the door :goodvibes.

You 2 are getting close to your trip. Have a great time!!!:yay:

Thank you Kelly! :goodvibes It's funny how the past 8 months have flown by, but the next 3 weeks... :snail:

I think we are using wegoshop because they don't up price, Garden Grocer up charge was expensive!!!! I am gonna split the cost with a few people I think so will cost next to nothing for wegoshop's fee

We generally just bring food with us but I hate packing it and using up valuable luggage space. I have considered these options but the fees just kill it for me. Seems like an awful lot to pay for that convenience.

You could ship stuff done to Pop too..maybe in the flat rate boxes? I guess it depends how much you need. They will hold it for 2 weeks before you come. I shipped water from Costco, and that was the best thing I ever did!

Is that each way or one way !!!?????

I find this interesting, I would have said yes to that.

If it were me, I would call to be certain. If you have a condition associated with your pregnancy which requires you to have a refrigerated medication and/or certain restricted diet items that should count...IMO.

Can someone going to POP in the near future please bring back new menus? All the ones I can find either don't include recent breakfast items and costs. We are trying to get a budget for our trip and food is a huge part, lol!

Thanks!!

It is on my list of things to do! I even have it written in my travel planner. I promise I will post pictures of all the menus and prices when we get back. :) so if anyone sees a crazy lady taking pictures of anything and everything at the food court in 3 weeks - come say hi to me.

Just returned Tuesday from POP and I am already completely depressed its over and wanting so badly to book another trip. Anyway, just wanted to let folks know, we requested adjoined rooms, were told when I made the reservation they were guaranteed and that is what we got when we arrived. We stayed in the 70s building not far from the Hippy Dippy pool (another request I had made). Our room was just past the big wheel on the first floor so we didn't have to climb stairs - yay! And better yet, my in laws who has linked a room reservation to ours were in the very next room. We had 106 and 107 which were adjoined and they had 108. Can't get any better than that!!! It was very quiet outside our room which was nice. We had fantastic weather! Jealous of all of you going soon. Oh yeah, the only disappointment was that the water jets were not working during our entire stay. My 2 year old would have enjoyed it but she had a blast in the pool!

Don't mean to be picky, but do you mean you had "connecting" rooms. With a door inside that you could open? Adjoining rooms at Disney just means they're next to each other, and won't nec. have that internal connecting door. Sounds like all your rooms were adjoining, but were those two also connecting? I love that building at Pop by the way. Its my fave!:hippie:

Yes, we had connecting rooms - 106 and 107 had a door between them which we kept open. We have 4 children 7 and under so it was critical to have 2 rooms for the beds and space  My in laws did not have a door connecting them to room 107 but they were in 108 right next door. I had never stayed in 70s and when she first showed me on the map I was thinking yikes, this is near nothing. But when we found it we realized its in a quiet section yet you are not far from anything.

When that new Animators Palette family suites opens across the lake from Pop, you might want to look into staying there. It sounds like it would be perfect for your sized family. Also, Ft. Wilderness cabins might be just as affordable as 2 rooms at Pop. The 2 and 3 bedroom villas would also be a great fit, but they're much more expensive unless you rent points from a DVC owner or are DVC yourself.
