Thank you for all of the great information about POP! Looking forward to our first stay in 19 days!! it looks really cute and fun!

I haven't been able to read through all 1900+ comments yet ;) so I was wondering if anyone can help me out with a room request...we are booked in a standard room. We would like to be closest to the bus stop and Classic Hall...near a pool too if possible. I have heard it's not necessary to book preferred as everything is pretty much the same distance...hopefully that is true!

Thank you so much!!

I just booked our 5th stay at Pop. I originally booked a pirate room at CBR, but when I told my 16DD, she said she would rather have tie dye cheesecake than a pirate bed. :rotfl2: We will be there next Friday night for the DxDP and basically eat for 2 days!

I'm having the same issue. I booked CBR after we paid off the balance of our trip in september. Now I'm having second thoughts. I think I will miss it. Not really feeling that CBR will be worth the extra 750.00 for 9 nights. I paid less than that for the 4 of us to fly. LOL

Preferred rooms are closer to Classic Hall for sure !!With standard I would try for 60's or 70's !!50's standard and 80's & 90's can be a far distance from Classic Hall although the 80's & 90's are closer to buses !!My DD is only happy in the 60's so we book preferred !!

Any update on the hippy dippy pool refurb? Its supposed to open (by some reports) this saturday.

We will be at Pop August 19th thru 27th!!

I'm working on my DH to book that same week too!! Our youngest daughter starts 4th grade on the 29th of August so that is the only week we can do this summer that also coincides with driving my son back to college at FIT.

WDisneyMom, I am thinking that your best bet for being both close to bus stop AND close to Classic Hall is the 80's. or 90's. Building 8 in the 90's and ironically building 9 in the 80's can be a short walk to both. That's if you walk across the front passed the bus stop and walk through the gift shop. Its a short cut to the food court. We stayed in building 9 and 8 in the past and found that to work well. Request to be closest to the 90's parking lot. Neither are "preferred. We also liked room 0125 in building 10 (70's) alot. The rooms immediately adjacent to it would also have the same walk. If you ask for 60's preferred, you could still be really close to the lake which would be a longer walk to the Classic Hall and bus stops. But really, Pop is a fairly compact resort so I wouldn't worry about it.

That sounds about right to me. It was filled and they were power washing the deck when we were leaving yesterday, so it does seem like things are going pretty much according to schedule. Good timing too, because the bowling pin pool heater has been having issues - it wasn't working on Sunday, and I didn't ask yesterday but the pool was cold enough that we hoofed it over to the computer pool from our room in the Lady building because my girls didn't want to get in the bowling pin.

Got our Mickey Mail today :cool1::cool1:

16 days until we leave and 19 until WDW!!!

We stayed in the 60's, building #5, facing the lake. It was a great location. Very quiet, a 2 minute walk to the main pool and a 5 minute walk to the main building. :)

What do you all think?

I put in my request a king bed room with refrigerator. This past summer I did a week in Pop a week at the beach then a night at Pop. I spent the week in room # 1453 and loved the location, I didn't think the walk to the buses/food court was far at all. On my single night they put me in the disabled access room and it had the fridge in it which I didn't pay for. Now I really didn't like the room because it doesn't have the tub, you think they might put me in a disabled room? Cause 10 nights with a flooding bathroom will make me crazy. I am probably over thinking things though and wont get a disabled room.

On a side note after staying at CBR and AKL, I love POP its such a great resort for the price. The food court was really good and the rooms were fine for me.

Cheers

We had requested a king bed at Pop as well and were given a disabled room, I sort of liked the shower and having that much extra room. The fridge was a pleasant surprise as well but I don't think you would get a King Bed in a regular room with a fridge without having to pay for it. I'm not 100% sure on this but it just seems that they won't have them in regular rooms. Did you try and join a fridge swap? That may be an answer for you if you really want the fridge and not a disabled room

Thanks Bo Peep.

I plan on paying for the fridge I don't mind, a week with a cooler was too much and I promised myself to not do it again. I doubt they will stick me in a disabled room for 10 nights. Hopefully they will just cart the fridge into a king room for me, I am most likely just over thinking it..

I looked into the fridge swap but, I think it may have died off/ lost the fridge.

Thanks for your help :thumbsup2

This will be our first time at POP and we are very excited! September can not get here fast enough!!!!!:goodvibes

we are going to be staying at POP for the first time in a few weeks, I'm wondering what's the best way to get to Cape May Buffet?

You can get to Cape May Buffet by taking a bus to Hollywood Studios, and instead of going to the left towards HS when you get off the bus, go right, and you will have a short, pleasant walk along the Boardwalk to there! OR - you can take the boat from HS to Yacht and Beach Club, where Cape May is. AND - if you are already in Epcot, just exit through the International Gateway and you will be there in a few steps! HTH!

Well, we will have our first stay in just 73 days!! Just wondering if we will really need preferred rooms. We have already booked them but I was thinking that if I went non-preferred we could stay an extra night.:woohoo: Would you drop the preferred or stick with it?
