Welcome to all the new people!!!:)

We have alwasy stayed moderate until we tried pop and we love it. Especially the food court so yummy.

Why do people keep saying that laptops won't fit in the safe at Pop? I have never had a problem fitting my laptop in the safe. And there's still room for credit cards, cash, keys, etc. My laptop is 14 x 10 x 1.5. It fits with room to spare.

Edited to add this from post #1 of this thread;

Safes
a small safe is built inside the wall in your room near the vanity
approximately 4" deep x 12" wide x 14" tall, which fits most 15" laptops
safe opens/locks with a traditional key
if larger space is need, go to Registration Guest Services in the Lobby of Classic Hall, and they’ll likely be able to lock it up for you
in-room safes are free of charge

That's very good news... thanks for posting the safe dimensions!!! :)

I personally prefer to leave all laptops at home. I have no interest in using one while I am on vacation. I like to leave the everyday life in Maryland and let my brain take a vacation too. :rolleyes1

Just booked Pop this morning for May14-20th. So excited. This is our first disney trip. It will be me, dh, ds11 and dd8. I booked a preferred room because I had a pin for room only and it was a good deal.

Now after reading this I think I should change to a standard room room with a lake view. All dh wants is a clean quiet room. I am thinking a 4th floor lake view would be quiet. Any suggestions? Should I keep preferred and just request a room away from a pool or do standard lake view? Which century is the quietest? I don't really want to stay in either 80's or 90's beacuse they look farther away from the food and busses.
Thanks

We stayed in 70's building 10 on the 4th floor, non preferred in the 401-412 room range....our room faced the other 70's building across the way, but we also had a view of the lake. Our room was pretty quiet and it wasn't far from Classic Hall or transportation (although we rented a car). We were also a short walk to the computer pool (just took the steps down since it was closer than the elevator).

I bring locks for our suit cases and keep our vaubles in that, and are lab tops to. Had no problems

Update on kiddy pool at Pop...Colleen is there right now and reported on facebook that the kiddy pool is also closed along with the hippy dippy pool. The goofy pop jets are also closed.

for how long?

Really, really, really hope the pool is opened by the 11th as originally projected. We're arriving on Friday next and hate the thought of other pools being so packed. Crowd projections are at 9's and 10's starting on the 11th.

Can't wait to be back home at POP! Now we just have to pack! Argh! Kids are excited.:dance3:

Planning to fax room requests on Sunday (four days out).....paid for preferred but hoping for Non pool facing. Just don't like the noise at night. I need my sleep after long days in parks.

Anyone else going down next week?

I promised my kids I wouldn't take my laptop to do homework (back in Grad school), but that means I have to get everything done before we leave on Thurs. Long day tomorrow in the library, but it will be worth it to not think about class while I'm at Disney. Hopefully it will all come together.:surfweb:

I'm here now. Yes they are closed and the entire area between the 60s buildings is closed off. That's a little disappointing because it's our first stay in the 60s, but the view of the lake makes up for it.
First time signing in and posting from my phone. I feel like such a techie.

Does anyone have some photos of inside the rooms now they have been refirbished?

That video was fantastic :yay: It certainly helps get me even more excited for my first trip to Pop Century in August :dance3:

Just back from our first stay at Pop (and at any value resort) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I was a little uncertain about the decision to book a value, even for a budget trip, but the resort was more than adequate and outshone the pricier resorts we've stayed at on some counts. We will certainly be trying Art of Animation when it opens if it shapes up to be more or less like Pop.

happy to hear you like POP, its a fav of ours!!! we are there in 20 days!!! for our third stay there!

I just booked our 5th stay at Pop. I originally booked a pirate room at CBR, but when I told my 16DD, she said she would rather have tie dye cheesecake than a pirate bed. :rotfl2: We will be there next Friday night for the DxDP and basically eat for 2 days!
