17 days to go!!! Getting really excited!! Still wondering if someone can tell me about the room upgrades. I'm hearing ... flat screen TV, privacy curtain, new paint and bedspread and mattress and less space for storage in the dresser/entertainment center. I look forward to seeing the new look but wonder if I've heard everything. How is the new mattress?

You can have a quick peek at the new look here http://allears.net/acc/faq_pop.htm

No, you do not need clips for the curtain. There are no issues with the curtain. My favorite part of the refurb...the new carpets. My least favorite part of the refurb.....the stiff mattresses or the new bedspread. The bedspread is HEAVY. It feels like the apron they put on you at the dentist for xrays...10 times heavier! As the previous poster, I also hung up more clothes than usual (I had Mousekeeping bring me A LOT of hangers). My hubby, daughter and myself had enough room in the drawers for undies, bathing suits, socks and such. It is definitely an improvement.

Axiously waiting for January 29th!!!!:rolleyes1

I loved the new rooms !!Yes the dresser is smaller with less draw space but that privacy curtain is AWESOME!!!!

We were just there. I packed a ton of hangers that you get from the dry cleaners (thin and disposable) and hung up most of our shirts, pants, shorts, and left the drawers for underwear, socks, bathing suits, and kids' clothes. By doing that, it freed up a ton of room. I also used an over door shoe rack for all of our toiletries.

Thanks for the hanger tip. I've added them to my list of things to pack!

3 weeks for my family!

I will be calling next weekend to make sure all of my requests are on my reservations.

We stayed in building 10 (70s) last time and thought that was very convenient to Classic Hall & the bus stops. I think this time we are going to ask for Bldg 4, 5 or 6, 1st floor, and connecting rooms.

I didn't have a problem with that... but I had brought a lime green mickey head flag that I made, and I hung it on a spring tension rod in the window. It provided all the added privacy that we needed. It was a great idea. I also put my pins on it since my lanyard longago overflowed.

THIS IS GENIOUS for all the folks who want to decorate the window but use tape (a no no for us). If you can't find clings, or suction cups, this solves the problem. Kids can draw on a plain curtain, or you could attach pictures to it.

Really a great idea!

Thanks Mindy

Oh my gosh, just looked at my ticker and I have 72 days left! We are in the holiday swing already, and by the time that is thru we will have around 30 days left!! Man time is speeding by!

Been back for 11 days now and I have to say WE LOVED POP!!!! I have been to a few different WDW resorts and this was my fav ♥. We also got all of our room requests and we had the BEST room in the place! Building 4 first floor room 4105. Right next to the Hippy Dippy pool and only steps from the main building. Every morning we would get up early and "reserve" the table and chairs just outside our room and we'd stay there until about noon then get ready and go to the parks by 1. That was our daily routine and it worked out great for us. Plus, we got the connecting room we so desperately needed for DM-I-L. The room was re-ferbed and the TV was great. We had our portable DVD playing hooked up to it so every night we enjoyed a movie (or two, if we didn't pass out watching the first one). The CM's were awesome and our mouskeeper was sweet. Got plenty of extra towels for the pool.

At night we would take a walk to the generation gap bridge in our pj's and just sit there for a while. It was a nice way to wind down from the long day. Construction is going on at the legendary years site and I am so excited to think about planning our next stay at the new all suites value resort they are building. I wanted to walk around over there like I saw in a YouTube video but it is boarded up at the end of the bridge for the construction.

So for everyone about to go, or planning your trip, just know that POP is awesome :woohoo: and you will have a great time!

Tina

:yay: LOVED reading this!! You made me so excited!!! I also requested first floor, and we have preferred, so hopefully we will get a good location too. Did you guys get preferred?

It really was pretty easy if you sew. The hard part was finding round plates to trace in the correct sizes.

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer. How far out should I fax in my building requests?

4-6 days is recommended. We faxed ours 5 days ahead and got requests... that was 2 years ago. Good luck!

Thanks. An extra place for jackets and caps. We will make great use of that!

Just another *tip* along those lines - I brought suction cups to hang window decorations. I ended up having a few left over so I used some on the mirror for hats and one in the shower to hang the bath puff (I am not a fan of facecloths - odd, I know;)). I also bought a suction cup toothbrush holder for the mirror at the Dollar store- frees up a little counter space. :)

I was wondering if any kind soul out there departing for the World within the next three or four weeks would be willing to take pictures of the menu boards at Everything Pop??

I'm going to be there for the first week of January and would love to get an idea of the food offerings there. The menu from AllEars.net is dated April 2009 and I'm not sure if that's because nothing has changed or because no one has updated it.

Anyone...anyone at all...willing to take pics of the menu boards and post them here between now and January 1st?? :flower3:

TIA
