I think that this is such a great idea. I wish I had space in my suitcase to bring stuff and take part....
You really dont have to bring anything. We usually purchase or have stuff we cannot take back with us so we will donate.
I usually bring extra small shampoos (easier to pack), hairspray, and other miscellaneous toiletries. So instead of bringing back home the unused bottles where they will sit unused I will just put them in the swap box for someone else to use.
I will also put in magazines from our trip, small unused, toys, etc.

Thank you Flamestardust & codimouse for pointing out the link. I suppose I should have included it in the message. :faint:

Calderli, you don't need to pack anything specific to put in the box. Participants are welcome to use anything that is in the box and you may donate anything you'd like to, but no donation is required.

It came in really handy for us in December. I needed to do one more load of laundry after I used all the detergent I brought, and there was some in the box. I had a big pack of rain ponchos, but we used the single poncho in the box (and donated the pack). There was a red princess crown that my DD immediately took! DS was kept busy with Aladdin stickers from the box.

I brought lots of dollar store toys wrapped in Christmas cello bags (this was our Christmas present so the distraction toys were part of the 'present') but didn't use them all so I left them in the box! It was great not to have to haul home the 6 containers of mini playdoh! YKWIM!

Anyhow it's just a fun thing to participate in, you never know what surprises will be in the box.

Come check it out! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2167042&page=14

We're heading to POP for the my Mom's very 1st trip to the World.
She was actually at Disney Land the 1st week it opened way back in the day as a child but has never been to either since.
This is going to be my DH and my 3rd trip in 13 months so I've got most of my planning down pat, but I'm stuck for ideas to make this trip over-the-top killer for my Mom.
Anyone have any ideas about how I should decorate her room windows or do anything else to make this trip memorable?

Thanks

Jinxy

Ok. Here's the thing. So it's not quite as good a deal for us as free dining. But I can cover a lot of our meals with that $300 gift card. :rolleyes1

And this is definitely going to be our last trip to POP. (Of course I said that before I booked the last 2 trips too.:rolleyes1)

And DGD is graduating from middle school. So we need to celebrate. :rolleyes1

Don't you think those are all good reasons why I HAD to book a trip for May? :rotfl:

Me and my DS have switched from POR to POP( non peffered,I wanted to be suprised) :cool1:from the 3rd of July to the 13th:cool1:,with the park hopper, water park tickets and DDxDP.We are so excited to be going back to POP.We original booked at POP but then we thought maybe up grade to POR but the more we thought about It the more we really would miss POP so much. So today we switched back to POP:cool1:.So I had to jump on here and tell all my friends:goodvibes

Good for you! Bet you saved a bit of money too! Hope you get to spend that on all the goodies you want.

We love POP, wouldn't want to go anywhere else.....except many Contemporary once just to stay in "Walt's" hotel.

Yep about 850$ of them:scared1:,but really that was not the main reason,It really was because we loved POP so much.

I'm trying to plan for a 7 day trip in mid Oct '10. Still can't decide on POP or ASMo. We were thinking of going back to CSR or to POR but would rather save a few $$$ and besides, the value resort rooms are almost identical to the moderates. The only difference I think I can see is the pools are a little more fancier at the moderates (slides and stuff) WHO CARES THOUGH! I heard that the rooms are being renovated at POP and should be done by the fall....any truth to this one because it might make my choice easier between ASMo and POP!!!

:wave2: Welcome to DISboards!

Indeed you've found an abundance of info in Post #1 and #2 to help you make your decision! If there's any questions you have that aren't answered there, I assure you that there are many very nice Poppers here to answer your questions! Hope you're enjoying your planning phase! :goodvibes

Just back from 7 nights at POP. We were in 60's section, 2nd floor, pool side and it was a great location. Our room was #5263 and was super close to classic hall.

Very short walk to food court and the busses. Since we spend most time at Epcot and DHS, it was a very short bus ride to those parks. Less than 10 min for both.

The kids really loved and want to stay at POP again on our next trip. :cool1:

We love POP! It is not as expensive as the other resorts. Really how much time do you spend in your room? We spend all our time in the parks, so I can't justify upgrading.....

Has anyone gotten room delivery pizza lately? DGD likes to do this every trip. (Me-not so much!) She loves the meatball pizza they used to deliver, but I'm not sure they still have it. DIS menu has it, but allears menu is different.

Just wondering cause I'm making ADRs and if they don't have the meatball pie any more I might be able to talk her into going somewhere else that night. ;)

Thanx for any help.

Do the Keys to the Kingdom tour. That would be really fun and cool!

We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour on Sunday, January 31st. It was fun and informative. We went backstage behind Splash Mountain and into the Utilidors from one of the shops on Main Street. I'll try to tell more about that when I get my trip report posted.

I wanted to take DD on this in August but she is too young:headache: Maybe when she is older....

How exciting! I would love to read about it!

I just PMed about the swap box, so hopefully I can get in on it. I had never even heard about this. Soooo excited!
BTW, has anyone heard any more updates on the refurbishing of the POP rooms?

Hello all,
Is there a current stroller swap going on? If so does anyone have the link to it?

Thanks
Steve
