And dont forget when you go to show some appreciation to the CM's. Here is a website where you can print out little cards that show you appreciate something that someone did for you! It is not a subsitute for speaking the words "thank-you" but from what my sister in law said when she worked there she loved getting thank you cards and things from guests!

http://www.tagrel.com/APP/CMCards.shtml

You should also visit town hall and praise someone! They always get complaints so the praises are wonderful! The way I look at it is if I would complain about something, I should also praise someone for something!

Thank you for the link. These cards are great! I will be sure to print some out for our next trip.

Quick question -- we're planning to eat breakfast in Everything Pop at around 7:00 each morning. What are the portion sizes like? If we ordered the Adult Breakfast Platter or Omelet would we need to get lunch or would we be okay to wait for dinner at around 4:30? Also, are the Kids waffles and pancakes big enough that a 7 and 8 year old boy who are small eaters could share a meal?

:thanks:

While the portions are big, I don't think you could go that long without eating lunch or at least a healthy big snack.
You use a ton of energy at DW, you need food on a consistant basis when using that much energy.

DH and I are big eaters and we get the DDP, there is plenty of food on the DDP and we don't really finish the whole meal, because we are full. But I can tell you way before the next meal we are starving, because we have walked and played so hard that all the fuel is used up.

So I would say no, you will have to have something in between those times.

Now for the other question about the boys, they "should" be able to share as the meals are pretty good sized. But again, they will need something about 3-4 hours after they eat.

Remember if you push it when your body needs nutrition it will not be good.

we will be at the pop next week without our laptop. Does the pop have a location where you can get online just to check in for your flight even if you are not checking your baggage with them or using the ME?

Thanks,
Debbie

I really cannot answer about the kid's portions as it has been a few years since I have had to buy a kid meals, but for the adults meal I will tell you that we do something very similar. My husband, my 12 year old son and myself usually eat a big breakfast (for my son that is a POP waffle and bacon or sausage, for my husband and me the platter or omelet). Then I pack peanut butter and cheese snack crackers for us to munch around on. We are usually not hungry until around 2ish and then we snack on some crackers. That will hold us over until around 3:30-4:30, depending on how hungry we are. I guess though it really depends on how big of an eater you and your family are. My husband normally cleans his plate at Disney and my son and I could easily share a meal, as we tend to throw away a lot of food. With that being said, we were able to make it fine like I said with a snack.

Are you on the quick service or basic dining plan? If so, you can use your snack credits for something to hold you over until you want to eat or save those snacks for ice cream or other treats and bring snacks from home. We did learn that with the QSDP, I do NOT need to bring snacks from home because we ended up with 24 out of the 42 snack credits on our last day. I realized by about day 2 that we did not need to eat the crackers from home. We were also so full feeling in the evening that we didn't even want a snack then. The meals are really quite feeling, at least in my opinion.

HTH!

I hope this hasn't been asked 50 times already- but I am going at the end of August. What times is the food court the busiest?
We stayed at CSR last year and one morning the counter service place was so busy we went and ate at the maya grill- by the time we came back I think people getting in line when we got there were just sitting down.

So what time should I plan to be through with breakfast to take the ME to a park by 8:45 or so?

We went in December, but we found that if we were at the food court around 7 it was very empty. The closer to 7:30 the more crowded it became and by 8 it was extremely crowded. I am not sure about August, but I would assume it would be similar.

Food courts are always busiest at meal times. Brkfst - 8/9, lunch - noon, dinner 6pm. So if you go an hour before or after those times you are pretty safe, not empty but ok.

Also an FYI, the buses to the park aren't ME buses. ME buses only travel from the airport to the resorts.
The buses to the parks are just known a "bus transportation".

Have fun, POP is fabulous!

I'm so excited to be headed to the Pop three weeks from today!!! SHould I request a specific place/room or just roll the dice? I guess I am asking if there is any place I do NOT want to be, because then I will request something.

And what is everyone;s favorite area? I'd love some input from an experienced DISer!

It will depend on your family, for sure. We do the dining plan and sometimes get a breakfast and share between the 3 of us, sometimes we all get breakfast and no lunch and then a big dinner. We are typically full our whole trip though. LOL! We eat alot with the plan. We do bring extra snacks, especially for DD in that moment when she need something now. I do think your boys for sure could share an adult breakfast, and maybe kids, depending on how much they eat. Then maybe a snack a little later (depending on how early you eat breakfast) and then dinner at 4:30 should be fine. We tned to not get up super early, well I do, but my crew sleeps in, so sometimes I would eat something we bright along for breakfast, and sometimes I would get something from the foodcourt and eat and save some for DD when she woke up.
One other thought is, you may be able to have each adult share a breakfast with each child. Also keep in mind you can substitute bacon for Suasage. I am picky with bacon and only like it burnt to a crisp, and it's not there, so I always ask for sausage instead.

Personally I love the 70's building 10.

We usually request 60's ground floor and did this time, but for some reason we didn't get our request filled. So I didn't complain, thought I would check it out first.
And to my surprise I love it!!! I will now request that section!

So if you like a decade go with it, if not roll the dice and see. You never know you may get something you like better. :)

The kids meal comes with 2 mini waffles or pancakes, 1 piece of saus or bacon, applesauce, and a kids size milk juice or water. Not enough for 2 kids unless you plan to eat lunch. The adult platters are huge though and very shareable.

Go to the concierge line. Give them your flight info and they will print your boarding passes, no problem! They did this for us on 1/4/10, for our early am flight on 1/5.

Have so much fun! We all wish we were there again!

We stayed at the back side of the 50's Jutebox top floor left side. (MK is to the left & Epcot is in the middle.) Just open your door & enjoy the MK & Epcot fireworks if you aren't in the parks.

We stayed in one night b/c DD was sick one night for the MNSSHP fireworks. We opened the door & tried to sing the songs w/ the show. It was great.

Just remember, anyone doing this has a reasonable chance of having neighbors who will be disturbed by Guests singing outside their rooms.

I have a year to decide but we were wondering if the Computer Pool and the Bowling Pin pool have as many chairs as the Hippy Dippy Pool? We will be there for a week and will probably be spending more time at POP then the parks so the pools are a big part of our decision if we want to go preferred or standard. Thanks in Advance

I can't speak for the bowling pin pool, but the computer pool had plenty of chairs and tables when we were in that section on '07.

You can skip the singing. The show is at 9pm. The POP is very family oriented. Three other families were outside too.
The view is great even if you are silent.

I thought people were looking for a great experience on these boards, not opportunities to be well......Grumpy.

Disney is about the experience, not about getting away from it all. If people want that, then they may be at the wrong resort location. Maybe one of the high end resorts would be better suited for them.

We just returned from our second stay at POP. The first was in June, the second was this past Dec.
First time we stayed in the 80's building, second floor, facing the parking lot, just steps away from the computer pool. We had a rent a car so this location was perfect for us! It was very quiet, a short walk to the main building and steps away from both the pool and our car. :)
In Dec we used the bus system. We were in the 60's, building 5, second floor, facing the lake. We got to say hello to Baloo every morning. ;) LOVED this location. Super quiet, steps away from the main pool and main building/bus stops. So quiet and so convienent. PERFECT. :)
