I remember seeing a website a while back that listed estimated bus travel times from specific WDW Resorts to Parks as well as transfer info to get to other WDW Resorts. Does anyone know which website this is?

A question for you Pop experts. We have an ADR at AK at 8 am. Are there cabs waiting outside the hotel that early or should we just leave early enough to take a bus?

Definitely take the bus!

Sometimes the AK parking lot isn't open until a little after 8:00, which means that cabs can't get through to drop people off until then. I wouldn't risk it.

Please be aware that this website sometimes gives incorrect info (routes that don't actually exist, etc.) I wouldn't put much stock in the info you get from it.

If you have specific questions, ask on the transportation board. You will get great info there.

Excellent advice. I don't go to the Transportation Board, since we know our way around and how we're getting from here to there, so I didn't even think of that. A long time ago, I did use the Transport Wizard, so that was the info I was giving him/her.
It's kind of fun to play around with. :)

Flamestarrdust, I agree that you will get more accurate information from people who know here on the DIS!

POP has bus service to the parks that it does not share with other Dis resorts. Some of the resorts like AllStars share buses which I have found to take longer to get to/from the parks. And in my experiences, the POP buses run every 20 min almost always!

Enjoy your stay

Good to know! We stayed at WL back in Oct 07 and I remember we shared buses with FW and it seemed that we were always waiting a very long time at the parks for buses. Our stay prior to that was at CBR in 04 and we had no problems waiting even though there were numerous stops within the resort itself.

I'm just so excited to be going and can't wait till Oct! :yay:

Thanks. I just needed what bus was needed to transfer to resorts. I have most of my ADRs at resort restaurants and I have never stayed at POP before, only CBR and was curious to know the transfers. I used to have it all memorized but haven't been to WDW in 4 years so I'm a little fuzzy on the transportation routes. Mostly what I don't know is how to get to AKL or BCV from POP. I have never been to either resort before and so I am not sure how to get to them.

We were a AKlodge or Moderate family before out last trip. The busses were my main concern.

WOW!!! Best bus service we have had in 4 trips. There is always a bus coming. They run 2 busses at a time out of the parks an closing & at the POP we walked on or waited maybe 5min for a bus.

GREAT!!!!!, GREAT!!!!!!, GREAT!!!!!

Well, I have been bouncing around where to stay for our next trip. Received a 30% off value PIN yesterday, needed 2 rooms and decided to give POP a try.

I went with standard rooms, and wondered when making my request where the standard rooms are located? We have 2 - 18 year olds, and a 13 year old with us, so walking distance is not a problem for us.

What is your favorite section in the standard room area and why? Is it location, theme, or because it seems quieter?

Really excited now, I bet the next 2 months are going to crawl.

It depends on what you want. If yyou are looking for connecting rooms that would be my first and only request. This would give you a greater chance of getting them.

But we like the 60's section facing the lake. Close to the main pool but more quite. I never really request a floor. That doesn't really matter to me. When they note my reservation I just say 60's section facing lake. That is what we got. I know alot of people here like the 50's section also.

HAving never staying onsite- I have a question regarding the POP bus.

when youleave the parks is there a general area for a POP bus-- or do you wait in a general area with all people staying at value resort.

are the buses marked---pop century, all stars, all movies, etc?

I found this photo.. wow- does the bus stop get extremely crowded?

i read how people in wheel chairs and their family push ahead and get on before those in line-- how does that work-- dont they have to wait in the area too?

Wheel chairs & their families go on all buses befoer those in line everywhere at WDW & not just at the POP.

In the evenings at MK, there are 2 lines & 2 busses servicing the POP. (they are the last 2 lines). The only thing slowing them down is the wheel chairs & their families. The other values ride together in one line on one bus.

The crowds depend on when you are going.

We are going in Sept. and (might) have a scooter. Depends on sons surgery for his back.

if i come upon the bus stop looking like this i can take it for granted I just missed one.

can you tell me if there is a schedule? or just go with the flow type of system?

I am telling my family i want to be at the bus by 8:00 to be at the parks for RD- is this a good time?

Even if you just missed one, they seemed to come quickly. Sometimes one wasn't even finished loading & another one for the same place showed up.

We were there a bit after 8am most days & still was there before rope drop. I tried to relax a bit more last trip. The only place you need to rope drop is DHS is you want Toy Story. The other parks may develope lines at the popular rides, but a fast pass will take care of that. Toy Story sells out of Fast Passes by about 11am.

Getting in line by the bus by 8 w/ a scooter should be great for rope drop. Watch those EMH mornings. The park will open at 8 on those days.

If you have a scooter, you may end up actually waiting longer for a bus. Each bus can only take 2 scooters.

Since there are no direct buses between resorts, you'll need to transfer at a park. To get to AKL from pop, I'd transfer at either AK or DHS and then take the bus to AKL. For BCV, take the bus to DHS and then either take the boat or walk to BCV.

Each resort has it's own queue. They are clealy marked, as are the buses

There isn't a schedule. The buses come about every 20 minutes, sometimes more often.

8:00 is about right :)

Ive been looking on the boards and can't find an answer to my quesitons, so Im going to post here. I hope this is the right place.

We are booked at pop for the end of Aug. I got in the mail a run down of our reservation. It has the normal, room, tickets, ME info plus a bunch of vouchers I don't know much about.
Bass Fishing Offer, does that means you get a discount on a fishing trip or one person can go fishing for free?

Mini Golf Voucher? Again one person plays free or at a discount?

Sammy Duvall Offer Voucher? I have no idea who Sammy is or what the offer is. :rotfl:

Any feed back you guys have would be wonderful. Thank you.
