Regardless how it's looked at, I agree with you that it's difficult to get connecting rooms purely based on the small percentage throughout the entire resort, much less when you add in handicapped accessible (HA) requirement for some!! BTW, to eliminate any assumptions, any of the rooms on the floorplan that are labeled in the color of dark teal (like xx70) or lilac (like xx22) are indeed HA rooms.

I crunched some numbers, and you may be surprised at the breakdown.

Resort's Connecting Rooms:
18 rooms per floor x 4 floors = 72 per building
72 per building x 10 buildings = 720 resort-wide Connecting Rooms (25% of resort's rooms)

Handicapped Accessible (HA) Connecting Rooms
(8 rooms per floor x 4 floors) + 2 rooms on 1st floor = 34 rooms per building
34 rooms per building x 5 buildings = 170 HA Connecting Rooms (6% of resort's rooms)

Non-HA Connecting Rooms
HA Buildings
(8 rooms per floor x 4 floors) + (2 rooms x 3 floors) = 38 per building
38 rooms per building x 5 buildings = 190 non-HA Connecting Rooms
+
Non-HA Buildings
18 rooms per floor x 4 floors = 72 rooms per building
72 rooms per building x 5 buildings = 360 non-HA Connecting Rooms

190 + 360 = 550 Non-HA Connecting Rooms (19% of resort's rooms)
It is gonna be tough to get it inthe 60's and def.not poolside s they are all preferred !! DD did say okay to 50's poolside So how does this sound for a request.... CONNECTING , 50's poolside or 60's !! Connecting is our biggie so that is first!!Thanks for all your help!!!!:flower3:

I'm also trying to get connecting rooms for this trip....the past two times we stayed at Pop, we got a connecting room when we didn't need the other room! The first time we were in a standard double/double room in the 80's section (nice and close to the bus stops) The second time we were in a handicapped accesible King room in the 50's section (nice and close to the food court) Hopefully we can get a connecting room this trip when we actually need them! It was my only request....whichever building we get will be fine with me.

HI! Looks like we're at Pop at the same time! Maybe we'll cross paths!! :thumbsup2

Definitely request we got 50's poolside ground floor connecting rooms last year first week of free dining! and we had a standard rooms! They were awesome to the left of the jukebox 2nd and 3rd room in!Literally 10 footsteps to the pool! This year we have preferred and requested 60's poolside! So we'll see what happens! :thumbsup2:wizard::wizard:

I've read through a lot of posts over the last 6 months of planning, but I don't remember seeing this specifically addressed. I know most people are saying most wait times for busses are 20 minutes or less, but how long should I allow for travel times from POP? All of our ADRs are either in the park we plan to tour that day, monorail resorts, or AKL. I've read the UG, done a few "transportations wizards" but I wanted input from those that have BTDT.

Thinking about for our AKL ADR's we might just drive over. Would that be the quickest? One is a dinner at Boma, and we will probably be at POP before, and the other is a late breakfast, and we will probably sleep in that day... For the others, planning on taking bus to MK and then monorail to resort, except maybe Chef Mickey's and we might walk from MK.

Resort to resort travel is best by car. You don't want to wait 20 minutes to take a bus to AK then take a bus to AKL. If you drive you can be there in 10 minutes.
Always figure at least an hour when using Disney transportation. You just never know with Disney buses.

The cm's tell you to allow an hour and 25 min this year! In the past it's been 1 hr 15 minutes ! If you allow an hour you should be fine I would think this is how we have always done it and never had an issue .Unless you are doing like HDDMR or MBYBQ then you would need to allow more time because I believe you have to arrive like a half of hour ahead of time!

what time do the bus services start. I have a ressie at chef mickeys at 7am!!

Hi, a quick question. I thought I read on here that all of the King rooms are also connecting rooms and handicapped rooms. Is this right? Just wanted to make sure. Thank you for your help!

The kiddy pool wasn't scheduled to close at all, so I think something happend and it had to be fixed.

just wanted to say it here that I had canceled my resvp for part of our Oct stay(three nights) and took them to CBR but we are still staying for two nights for the begining of our trip at POP:cool1:. I actually felt kind of bad:sad1: that we were switching up but we never been to CBR. I think next July we will do the same, spliting up between POP and Contemp.

I think you'll love the CBR. We have stayed there the last three years and loved it. This year, we are giving Pop a try. I have pictures of the newly refurbished CBR rooms and a very detailed review in my trip report. I'll be posting more pictures of the CBR very soon, maybe even tomorrow. The link to my report is in my signature.

Even though the CBR is our favorite, we are looking forward to trying Pop.

We have stayed at both and eventhough we do like CBR, we LOVE POP. CBR is huge and spread out. Unless you get a building close to the food court, it is a hike to get there. I think we went to the food court once just to check it out, but to far to go for a meal. The rooms are about the same size as a value, just different decor. The buses come by every building but by the time they got to Aruba (where we stayed) the buses were packed and we would have to wait, sometimes for 2-3 buses before we could get on. I hope you all have a better experience. My sister has always stayed at POP and this year she decided to stay at CBR, she loved the hotel but said that she would never again pay the difference in price to stay at a CBR over POP. My recommendation would be to make sure you get a preferred room request. I think if we would have done that, our experience at CBR would have been better. No matter what or where, Have a great trip and I hope you love both.

Thanks! Anyone else used Garden Grocer? What was your experience like?

I haven't used it, but last trip we considered it and I read and followed a lot of threads regarding it then and since then. I really haven't ever seen anyone have any complaints about it, other than of course the cost, which you know about up front. It is more expensive than driving to Walmart yourself of course, but it seems like everyone here has found them to be reliable and a good service. You can probably search and find some past threads regarding it if you want since I've seen quite a few.
