I didn't know they don't sell those Mickey wafflers anymore. My in-laws bought one for my birthday, hmmm, maybe 10 yrs ago. It still works great.

What is the consensus these days about online resort check-in, yay or nay? I don't really care what building although we have two rooms and two reservation numbers and I do want to be in the same vicinity (same bldg & floor at least). We should arrive close to 3pm if that matters.

Just stopping by to say hi.
Mom and I have just started planing a trip for Sept/Oct at Pop century, and sense i will probably be at this thread a lot, thought i would say hello!
Ive been to WDW twice, each time at POP, so I'm not a newbie there. We love this resort!

After reading through a few pages, I will also send an email about the slushies. Those were my fav part! What will I do without slushies!?

Do people ever get upgraded to preferred in the off season, say end of Jan. at POP?

Woo hoo! I just booked our free dining trip for the fall--Sept. 12-17th. It will be dd (3) and her first Disney trip!, me, my mom, and my cousin who is also a Disney fanatic.

Now, I booked a standard room. I haven't read through all 188 pages, and I'm sure this question has been asked a zillion times already.

What building should I request? We want to be close to the food court and buses, as close as we can be without being preferred, and not with a door facing the pool, but close to the pool.

I'm not asking too much am I??? LOL

This will be the first time I am staying at a value.

Did you have to buy a one day ticket to get free dining?

Hellow, everybody. I was hoping someone could tell me how early I need to leave the room to make to the parks at rope drop? Touring plans suggests getting to each park aprox. 40-50 minutes before official opening , would that mean I have to be ready to take a bus at least 90 minutes before rope drop?

Thank you for your help.

Each park is a little different based on distance from POP. Leave the most time to get to MK. Last summer I tried to be on a bus line by 7:45 for a 9am rope drop at MK. We were there waaay early! :goodvibes It all depends on how you catch the busses. If ya just miss one then you will really need the cushion of the full hour +.

anyone know if the kiddie pool is up and running yet? I'm gonna be there soon! One of the reasons we booked here was the kiddie pool! Is there any other pool on site that is zero entry?:sad2:

Hi!

We just returned and the kiddie pool was closed for renovations or maintenance or something.... Not sure how long it will be closed for.... They do have a "pop jet fountain" for kids to play in (where water shoots up from fountains in the ground) and let me tell you, from what I saw - the little ones LOVED playing in that fountain.... I heard one dad tell his kid that is was time to go over to the big pool to swim and she said "no thanks, I would rather stay here".

Also, they have all sizes of life jakets for kids to use for free at all the pools. Have a great time!!!

I'm crying over the frozen coke machine being gone! I was soooo looking forward to those. Now I need a blender in my room to make my own.

Thank you. I have a 3 yr old who likes to sleep in so it will be difficult to get him up so early but we'll try our best.

If you go 50's lake veiw, you won't be close to Classic Hall and not very close to th parking lot either. But nothing is super far.

We've had 50's lake view in bldg 2 and 3 ~ parking was a 2/3 min walk. Classic Hall is about a 4 min walk from bldg 3 and 5/6 mins from bldg 2....50's is closer to everything than people realize. :thumbsup2

Our walks at POP were much shorter than our room to lobby at GF, CR, Poly or AKL!

Thats so true. Those "inddor" hallways are long and people never think about it much, but Pop is much closer to the main area than most of them.

I have a question..... Has anyone here ever stayed at a moderate resort? We are going back to WDW in Sept for the free dining promo and are considering Port Orleans French Quater... Don't get me wrong, I totally loved POP in every way, but I just wonder if I should get a different Disney experience. Has anyone ever stayed at POFQ or another moderate, and how do you feel it compares to POP?
I just don't want to stay somewhere else and regret it! Thanks in advance for your opinion!!:lovestruc

I so much wanted to stay at Coranda Springs Resort. Did all my research-knew where I wanted to stay-figured my way around--then I priced it out.
:scared1: it was $600.00 more per room then pop century. 4 rooms is a lot of money--so now I research everything about Pop.

A 3yr old who likes to sleep in?! How did you get so blessed? My kids are up at the crack of dawn no matter what.
