It's not only the largest it's the only shop.

anyone know which building the fire occurred in? i'm staying at pop in june and have severe asthma, so i'd like to avoid being given a room in the fire-damaged building if i can.

I didn't say it was "right" for people to use old mugs or smoke in certain areas. I just said it doesn't effect me. I easily get more $13 worth of beverages in my mug while I'm there. So it's worth it to me. If other people want to be cheap and smuggle different mugs in just to save a few bucks, it's pathetic...but again, doesn't really effect me.

I don't equate having a good time and not focusing on the bad (or looking for the bad) to "wearing rose colored glasses." But that's just me. I understand there will be not so great things at all of the resorts but I don't focus on those. I just try to have a good time.

I agree. I never expect it to be perfect, but I don't expect any of them to be. But I enjoy my stay there. We could "afford" a deluxe iof we really wanted to, but dh is a bit on the cheap side for one, but even so, we are not in the room enough to justify paying so much more for a room that we won't be in much. And we do love the theming at pop for our DD. I think she would be disappointed if we stayed somewhere else. LOL!

OMG, thank you so much. I was fasinated with the google maps picture just wondering what that was. Thanks for all the links. All the abandoned building look creepy. It must of been weird for Jeff Lange to go through there. I really can't believe that Disney just left it there. Now all the buildings must be ruined. I did take a look at the building permit that you can see on Jim Hill's website and looks like this is where the new Disney Animation Suites will be. It will sure beat looking at the abandoned buildings. I can't wait to see what happens next. I hope nothing happens to Pop before we get there in September, I really don't want to be in the middle of construction.

Actually the rumor is that Pop classic years wil lbe turned into the animation suites. Alot of what he says is wrong though. As for the buildings, if the structue is stil lsound they can chemically treat the concrete and it will be jsut fine. It's been rumore they will become family suites. but no one know for sure if anything will ever become of them

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything Jim Hill says. He is almost always wrong.

Subscribing to the thread. I just booked a stay at POP for May12-17. This will be my first stay at a Disney Resort. I've stayed at the Swan, so it may be a step down as far as the room itself but I'm excited to stay at on of the real Disney resorts.

Congratulations on the POP Booking you will love POP,the step down might not be as far down as you might think. POP were It lacks In the Lux comforts It will make up In over the top Disney theming and by far(my oppion)the funnest resort at WDW,Welcome.

No not always,just depends when your out there If you are going MK in the Morining around opening theres a pretty good chance there going to be full.
Same with park closeings every body makes there way to the buses right at closeing so yes then there going to be full but other then that Its a hit and Miss.

Congradulations! My husband, daughter and I will staying at the Pop in mid-June. This is our second stay there. The Pop blew us away last time! Be sure to get refillable mugs. They are great for late-night runs to the dining hall for frozen cokes. Ah... frozen cokes! Memories!

Pop is great! You'll love it. I've stayed at nearly every level of resort in WDW, and I don't think you can beat it for the money. The beds are comfortable, the vibe is fun, and the music is funky. If you're in or from the WNY near where I grew up in Weehawken, you'll appreciate Pop. It's colorful and has a beat of its own (like Bergenline Avenue cleaned up Disney style).

Online check in is already available. You can check in online up to 10 days prior to your arrival date. If you sign in on the WDW site, there is a place to enter your confirmation # and phone # to retrieve your reservation. If you are more then 10 days out, it won't retrieve your reservation yet.
