Are there towels available at the pool or do you need to bring your own?

Thanks, Tracy

Thanks, Tracy

Bring the ones from your room - be sure to ask housekeeping for extra towels. Often, in the evening, there will be a towel cart outside the elevator on each floor for guests to get extra towels. :thumbsup2

Have fun!! :goodvibes

I did a little sleuthing and checked other posts by jeanylaser. I think she is a child/young teen from post #1642 on this thread.....so I think it's an age issue with this poster not getting some of the stuff we're posting.

jeanylaser....may we ask how old you are ?

Maria

I was thinking the same thing - more used to texting :) That's ok - it's cool that's she so excited about her vacation.

Hey there everyone! Long time no chat!

I had about 25 pages to catch up on only from March 16 until now! Chatty bunch!!

It looks like our Pop Family is growing with new readers full of anxious questions as they’re planning their first trip!! With that in mind, please allow me to take this opportunity to remind everyone that if they read Post #1, SO many questions that you may or even may not have will have answers in Post #1. No one here minds answering repeated questions, but if you’re in that mode of wanting to know “now”, hopefully you’ll find your answer right at your fingertips.

If you didn’t know this, you can search for key words on a webpage by pressing [Ctrl] + [F] (“F” for find). This will help if you don’t have time to read through the whole thing in your “I need it now!” moments. :rotfl: For example, many posts I saw from the past 3 weeks were on topics already in Post #1 complete with answers most were looking for (like fireworks views, (door) decorations, internet access, quiet room suggestions, roll-away beds, faxes, bottled beer, etc.).

Again, no worries if you want to ask with your own posting, but know that there’s a LOT of valuable info there, and as you see from this post, if there’s something that others may also want to know, I’ll get it added to Post #1 for future readers or reminders for the rest of us!!

There were several pieces of new info or clarifications from the past few weeks that I’ve added to Post #1 that include the following. Typically I just make a silent modification that's noted in the "Reason for Change" field, but with this many, I'll list them here.

  • VIP Cleaning
  • no more apple juice from the self-serve beverage fountains
  • Addition of Fruit Punch Powerade at beverage fountain
  • coffee creamer dispensed from a machine in Food Court
  • smoking section eliminated by Petals
  • clarified that toaster in Food Court is industrial
  • Online Check-in
  • Link to jenseib’s written fax letter
  • Add thread on door/window decorations to go with the existing picture links
  • NO TAPE on doors for decorating
  • Clarified that parking lots/spots are unassigned
  • Added jenseib’s 2009 mug picture to go with the DISboard’s pics from their article (Jen’s picture is much better, imo!)
  • Air conditioning/heat vents are at the ceiling level
  • NO ceiling fans

 That leaves me with two topics that I’m seeking answers to.

  • Someone mentioned they’ve seen coffee creamer pods on ice in addition to the dispenser. Where were those located ? Also, was the creamer dispenser by the soda fountains? Did I miss if there's validation the dispenser uses half and half?
  • I specified that the artificial sweeteners available includes Splenda and Equal (both are seen in a picture someone recently posted). Anyone know if Sweet ‘n Low is there as well? I never had a need to look for it, so I’m not sure.

As always, if you see anything that I’ve inappropriately represented in Post #1, please send me a PM so it can get corrected!

Anyone know if they still have the ping pong tables? I swear I never remember seeing them, lol.
How about the lego's near the luggage check in- Seems like a tripping danger, lol. I got this info from post #1 of this thread.
Yes there’s a ping pong table right across from Petals. In fact, it was upgraded to a new table the summer of 2008. Check out Post #1 for a link to a picture of it.

I have to agree with you on the giant Legos being at a weird spot!! They do have the space “roped off” on 3 sides and defined by the carpet rug, but if you look closely at the picture I took and posted in Post #1, it’s far from fool-proof!

We are making our 2nd trip to Pop in a few weeks with my BFF Garmin. Last time we couldn't the thing to locate Pop….

I had the same issue with my Garmin last summer. I saw several follow-ups to your original post, but thought I would inclue one additional piece of advice.

When I was trying to find a solution to my problem, I found the global position address of the resort, which I had posted to Post #1. By putting in the destination in my Garmin by longitude and latitude, it was a very precise and dependable mark.

Once again, great job on the updates, Kimberly! :thumbsup2 I honestly don't know how anybody could plan a trip to POP without this thread! So many great details!

Hey, everybody, I am still looking for news from someone who was able to use the on-line check in service. Did it actually save you time? I wasn't able to use it for our short trip last month so just hoping I can use it by next trip in the fall and not have to stand in that loooong mid-day check in line.

I love POP that is my favorite hotel! Now I'm Upset! I never uses my mom DoB! I was Born ON January 14, 1972! That's all!

Hi all! We'll be at Pop in less than a month; we have a preferred room booked- I did request-60's bldg.,ground floor, near the pool. Do you think I have a good chance getting those requests? Thanks!

And I too saw the creamers on ice-that was last May though. So, has that changed? It was a pain too open all those creamers every am;) So, if the creamer is now in a dispenser that would be great!

Thanks for this thread and all the hard work maintaining!:thumbsup2 You do a great job!:cool1:

Great update. You go girl!

Thanks for the comment on the mug picture. LOL! Excuse the mess in the background. I took it when we got home and had crap laying all over the counters!

I wish I was planning a trip again soon. I miss my "home" so much. :cloud9:

Ok, I did the online check in just now for Easter arrival. Yesterday, when I tried, it said it was unavailable. The only room options / preferences it gave me were fridge / play for baby. Nothing else, nothing for room location preference, just a heads up.

First of all, :welcome: ! It's always great to have experienced Poppers join in on the discussions!

I hope you'll stick around and make contribtions. :flower3: It's unfortunate that you had to read of others speaking of you. Sounds like we've faced a classic case of how it's sometimes difficult to interpret written words as opposed to picking up the phone to get your message across. I certainly can tell you that I've been victim to that even when the receiver of my email knows me! :rotfl: They just didn't understand what I was trying to say!

With that said, from my perspective in this case here, I think there was just some confusion on the receipient end on what you wanted to share with us or ask of us. Patience and understanding....it's a good thing!

I hope you'll not feel upset for too long and want to stay with us to talk about the hotel you love most. :grouphug:

Does anyone know if they have real half & half with the refillable mugs coffee at Pop?

Anyone know if cream cheese is available for purchase at pop? Im trying to deceide weither to just pack a bunch of breakfast/snack items and take them with us then buy the milk and stuff at pop (we will have a fridge thanks to the swaps) or just use 1 of the delivery services?
