Don't forget to capture any of the info you want on hard copy within a link that's on Post #1, too ;)

Happy planning!!!!

Yipes! I didn't even think of that!

I'm going to have to start adding printer ink to my WDW budget!

Oh! And I'm not sure if I've posted this in the FAQ thread before, but I wanted to share this:

I just think that is the coolest thing. lol I had no idea you could see the WDW Welcome signs from any of the resorts! Then on the last trip, we stayed in the 80's section (our first time at POP, we stayed in the 60's section, and didn't even venture over to the other sections! I STILL haven't even been over to the 50's section!!!) Anyhoo... Where was I?... Oh yeah. So we stayed in the 80's section last time, and as we were exiting from out of the Rubix cube stairs on the third floor, I looked over to my left and just about went into hysterics when I saw this:

This was taken from 80's building A, third or fourth floor, can't remember exactly, from the side that looks out over the 80's parking lot. And it isn't zoomed in or anything!

Here's a picture that shows about where we were standing:

That red * is us. :yay:

I just wanted to share that, for people who might want a view of that on your trip! I'm sure you can see it from other buildings as well. In fact, I would love to see some pictures of the Welcome signs taken from other buildings!

Hello fellow Pop fans,

It's our first time to WDW and we were wondering if the gift shop sells pool stuff. Anyone know?:confused3

In September they had pool noodles, sunblock, goggles, ear plugs, a couple blow ups, towels, swimsuits. I would not count on it being stocked though as one time they were down to almost nothing and another time were fully stocked. Was there something specific you would want to pick up?

Thanks for the info! We're just looking for noodles and other such fun things for the pool. We'll be going in January so I wonder if they'll have anything. It might be safer to purchase something and bring it with us. I'm wondering...

I think the noodles were just under $5, I think. I would think it easier to just buy it there if you want one while on Vacation cause it would be odd to travel with. lol The blow up stuff was really for toddler age so that might be easier to buy what you want and pack it. They also always had a few blow up balls in the pool that were there to play with. We actually bought one of the expensive balloon balls they sell in the parks and at DTD for just under $20 and we bring it with us every trip. It is a material in the shape of a ball that you put a balloon in and blow it up. They are a lot of fun because they bounce on the water.

HTH

I didn't even think of DTD! Thank you for your help. If we see any clearance stuff we'll probably pack it, otherwise we'll chance finding stuff at Disney. The balloon ball sounds cool!

Can't wait, less than 10 weeks!:cool1:

We are going to be @ POP from 2/2-12. This is our first time staying onsite, so excited :yay:

Anyway, I was reading thru this wonderful thread (thank you so much for the GREAT info) and wanted to add something. There has been some talk about food delivery, renting fridges, getting coolers, etc. I just wanted to let everyone know, that doesn't already, that there are several fridge swaps at POP thru DISers http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1454053. Several of these are free. We are taking advantage of this, as well as a double jogging stroller swap. (Beats lugging our double stroller thru the airport, etc. DS5 won't need it for airport, and I would much prefer just taking our smaller McLaren- but I did want something @ the parks incase he crashes out)

This time next Monday, I'll be boarding my plane on my way to my first trip at Pop.

Hello fellow Disers!
Dh and I stayed at the Pop last January and loved it. We are heading back with the 7for4 deal this January. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Anyway, here are a few tips we found helpful....

:thumbsup2 We stayed at in the 90's building which was great because it was a VERY short walk across the parking lot to the bus stops.

:thumbsup2 Walk around the resort. The landscaping and year signs are quite nice.

:thumbsup2 Bring a coffee maker! The coffee at Everything Pop is terrible.:scared1: Last year we bought one on Black Friday for $3 and gave it to some one else as we were leaving.

:thumbsup2 This year instead of a coffee maker we are bringing an electric tea kettle and a French press. That way we can also have coffee, tea and oatmeal.

:thumbsup2 Everything Pop only has black tea (and maybe chamomile). Bring your own if you want mint or something else.

:thumbsup2 The chocolate chip pancakes in the morning are wonderful with strawberry jam on them.

:thumbsup2 The tie-dyed cheese cake is terrible (I know a lot of people will disagree with me here, but eh! We didn't care for it or the individual chocolate cakes :headache: )

:thumbsup2 Not sure if this is at the Pop too, but the ice cream shakes/frappes are wonderful at the All Stars. We were on the dining plan and got one for dessert. They are hand scooped with Edy's ice cream. Yum!

:thumbsup2 You can play with sidewalk chalk as you are waiting for the Magical Express to take you back to the airport

:thumbsup2 There is a golf cart that is modded to look like a 1950's car (chevy?) that is really cute.

:thumbsup2 The Corvette at Goofy's pop jet play area is a real 'vette.

(Please forgive me if I have my cars wrong here, I am not a motorhead! :confused3 )

:thumbsup2 Look for lizards! Along with bunnies and other furry creatures, there are hoards of cute little lizards running around outside.

Oh I couldn't agree with you more! I might have eaten 3 small bites from my fork. It was SO not worth the calories or money. Honestly, it wasn't even worth it to get a good picture! I could have just gotten a great picture from another DISer!

Thanks for the tips and reminders!

We are staying at POP in January. The kids are really excited to stay there, and i'm getting excited!!!! Are the bus rides long to the park? Do they wait at the bus stops for a long time?

We have ADR at Epcot for before park opens... is there special transportation?

4 days till Pop! I have never stayed here before and am really excited! Thanks to everyone for the great reports and tips. They were really helpful in deciding on this resort. Now, how do I get through the next 4 days!!?? :hyper:

We are checking in at POP in 9 days!!! YIPEEE...........I can check weather.com for the 10 day forecast!!! These are going to be the longest 9 days.

We've stayed @Pop 3xs and have never had a problem with busses...you may have to wait a little longer during busier times.
Busses start running early to accommodate early breakfast ADRs (we've had early breakfast ADRs @MK & AK before park opens and never had a problem getting there!)
