I'm with you on that paper straw thing... I totally get the point of it... I still think they should offer regular straws though. I hate that half way through my drink, my straw gets all mushy and gross haha. I always complain about it, I'm a huge drama queen lol
I'm excited to hear how EE went Hopefully you didn't get stuck on that big hill like the people I saw in April haha. I was so afraid that was going to happen to me last trip in July!

I just came accross your TR and I love it. It reminds me of my DD and her son. He is such a handsome guy and I bet he just brings you so much joy. I hear it in your writing.
I know my DGS sometimes doesn't smile for the camera either but he is all smiles other times. Seems Landon is the same way.
Your friends seem so sweet and it's great you have them to be a part of both of your lives.

I just found out my other DD is expecting. Can't wait to see what she is having. She is only like 6 weeks so it's gonna be a while.

And it's funny that Landon is just watching from his stroller, too! Our magical balloon picture showed up without the balloons, but I put Up! borders on it just for kicks!

I'm glad to read I'm not the only person who fell asleep at the Nemo show. DS & I went to see it in 2008 & that nice cold dark theatre with the singing relaxed me too much to stay awake. I think DS snoozed a little too.

We stick to FOTLK - it's my favorite but I plan to try Nemo again someday. I think if DS had been younger it would've made a difference.

I can't believe you're just on day 2 - we were there the same days. I 'm already on day 5 of my TR, I must be rushing it too much

I'm going to guess you were able to ride EE but maybe not KRR?

I love that you take pictures of Landon crying. I do it with Jake ALL the dang time. We'll be in public somewhere and he'll want to start whining, etc - so I whip out the camera and start snapping away. It gets his attention away from being a little whiner butt and he wants to start looking at the lovely pictures of himself

Hey Kimmy! Great update once again! I love AK and don't get how some people don't like it! Your descriptions were spot on. The detail there just amazes me! It makes me even more excited for our December trip since we skipped it on our last few short trips.

Love all the pics from Nemo! What is it with kids sitting on stairs? I have never met a kid that didn't love it! Nemo is something else that will be a must do this trip, since we haven't been since Olivia was 15 months old. Festival of the Lion King is our must see every trip to AK, we just love it! Hopefully you guys caugt a showing of it!

Can't wait to see how you used all those awesome fastpasses!!!

Thanks girl!! I love AK too!! It is really great. I love all of the theming!! Except in Dinoland, to be honest. It's a little much in the wrong way for me. But I've heard most of that stuff isn't even real Disney, but Disney bought it from somewhere else. So I let it slide.

Kids are goofballs!! I got a lot of pictures of him sitting on various stairs all over Disney. Nemo is so great!! But I'd pick FotLK over it any day...we did catch it later!!

The picture of Landon sitting next to you on the safari is really cool, I like how the background is moving but you two are clear as day.

Thats awesome that Landon liked the Nemo show, I want Conner to see it SO bad but my mom is insisting on seeing the Lion King and I doubt he will sit for two shows. Oh well, theres always next year!

this was our first year seeing the nemo show we skipped it thinking it would not be that good in past years...but it was really good we did enjoy it, different from so many other shows there.

I really enjoyed it too!! I actually have seen Nemo on Ice which I believe had the same songs, just kind of a big difference between on ice and on a stage like that. It is really good show though and they do great with the costumes!

I saw the Nemo show when it first came out but haven't seen it since. Maybe this trip. I remember all the kids yelling 'There he is!' everytime they saw Nemo. It was cute...at first. After you hear it 100 times while waiting for the show to start, it gets a little old.

He is my little rock star!! He has a little drum here and whenever he plays it, he hands me a marocka (I know that is spelled completely wrong...but I sounded it out) or a tamberine and we have our little band. Hehe.

Yeah...those straws are so gross. I did get pretty good at strategically drinking from them so it's not too bad...but seriously. You shouldn't have to strategize how to drink from a straw so it's not gross!!

I think it's so funny the faces Landon makes in pictures. He has gotten so much better. When he was younger, you would've thought he was the most serious baby ever and he's totally not!!

Hey guys!!

Sorry I have like fallen off the face of the planet. I have been so busy and tired all the time!!

Some nights I have gone to bed so early...one night this week, I had to work at home late into the night so we could meet a deadline!! Then I had youth group and it's just been so crazy!!

My new job is going great. It's been a little crazy because I started during the week that they close everything. That's why I had to work late to meet a deadline that one night. It's actually really boring because it's just a lot of manual data entry, billing stuff. But I don't mind. I like it for the most part!! Especially since they took our team out for lunch for all our hard work yesterday! It was considered a "meeting" too, so we got paid for it!! It was at McGraths which is like a few steps above Red Lobster. I loved it.

Landon is still doing well at the same babysitters. My dad has been picking him up and it's been working out nicely. The drive to and from work isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's a little over a half hour, but I enjoy the time I have to jam out to my country music. My current favorite songs are "Farmer's Daughter" by Rodney Atkins, "Only Prettier" by Miranda Lambert, and a bunch of Luke Bryan and Eric Church songs.

I have missed you guys dearly! I hope all is well and I'm working on my next update now!!

So after we had THREE sets of fastpasses in hand, we head back to Asia.

Steph and I go first on Expedition Everest and have the time of our life.

Steph absolutely loved it and insisted on getting more fastpasses for it as soon as we were allowed. I get to go for a second time this time though because I had decided to be the one to go on Kali alone since no one wanted to go twice and get wet. So I head back up the mountain with Dustin. Our picture cracks me up. He looks positively bored. (But he did like it a lot!)

As we were walking on to our ride, Dustin asks me, “So is this like actual size?” I started cracking up. Apparently (hopefully) he forgot that it had EVEREST in the title. Silly boy.

After my two run-in’s with a yeti, I go and BUY MY YETI!! Right then and there when I see them and I'm thinking about it. I have it sent back to my room and I'm so excited. If any of you know, last year, I forgot to get him. I wanted him when I saw him but said I'd get him later and never did. So I am finally the proud owner of a pet yeti!! (And I'll have to get another one next time...Landon and I "fight" over him all the time! lol!)

Anywho, after I buy my yeti, I see this cute little face and decide we are all ready for some food.

We did stop by the Everest photopass guy on our way to lunch and got some of my favorite pics the whole trip!! I just love how they came out.

Notice how in all the ones towards the end I’m holding his hand down? My little man would just not get his fingers out of this mouth!! He had his bottom sharp teeth coming in while we were there and was teething pretty badly! At least they are like all in now!!

This last one is funny. I’m sure if his teeth weren’t bothering him, he would be growling with me. But as soon as I let go to put my “claws” up, he put his hands back in his mouth!! lol

I briefly told them all the options and we all agreed on Flame Tree Barbeque!! I had wanted to try this place last year, but we ended up going and eating at the AKL quick-service instead so I was very excited to finally try it!!

We find it without a problem and send Dustin and Landon to find a table while Steph and I get the food. Dustin and I got the same thing AGAIN…pulled pork sandwich with chocolate mousse for dessert. Steph got the barbeque chicken salad and I SWEAR she got some kind of tiramisu thing but I don’t see it on the Allears menu so I think I might be crazy.

I have no pics which is really a shame because the place is GORGEOUS with all it’s fun, bright colors. It makes me so happy. It’s so vibrant and magical…and HUGE!! Steph and I were carrying the tray and trying to find Dustin. We walk past the first place because there are only stairs leading up there and we both concluded that Dustin wouldn’t have gone up there with the stroller.

So we walk back to all the other ones and of course he’s not there, but way back in the first one!! He told us he just “manned up” and carried the stroller and Landon up the stairs. Of course, at the end of the meal, we see there actually is another entrance to this area that doesn’t have stairs.

We were all in such good spirits. There were ducks galore in this place and…one BIT Steph’s toes!! It was so funny. I was a little nervous around them after that. And kept giving them the evil eye if they got too close to my baby!! Landon was just loving the fries here and also the mousse.

Luckily, no one else got bit and we finished our meal and were full and satisfied!! We decide to start heading over to the Camp Mickey Minnie area!!

We passed the Tree of Life first and got some pics and then they had lots of little cut-out’s in the DVC area.

Notice how both of our heads are sideways in this? Yeah, well Landon definitely wasn’t tall enough for this , so he was on my hip and we were both like craning our necks over. Haha. Oh well. The next one, I tried and tried but could not get both our heads in because they were further apart, so I asked some random lady who was looking at my sympathetically to hold him up real quick and she agreed. YAY! Thank goodness for her!

We then get deeper into that little area. We were on that little bridge that has all the statues of the classic characters fishing and stuff. Steph got some good pics of me pointing that stuff out to Landon.

We had a little time before the Festival of the Lion King so we got in line for…Goofy!! Yay!!

Landon did pretty good in line, especially since they had some of those misty fans!! We got some great pics!!

Landon and Goofy are “poundin’ it” in that picture. Hehe. So cute.

Then we got some girl and guy pics!!

The PhotoPass guy never got one where Steph was kissing his cheek too! But that’s what we were going for!

I love this pic of Dustin and Landon so much, that on my actual Photopass cd, I saved a copy with Goofy cropped out! They are too cute!

After meeting Goofy, it was time for Festival of the Lion King!! Yay!! We had good seats and all really, really enjoyed it!! Steph loved the part with the girl who flew and was a bird. She loves birds. Her tattoo is of birds that she drew herself! (Its on her back…I think there are one or two pics towards the end of the week where you can see it!) Anywho…I didn’t get pictures because I was holding Landon in my lap the whole time. He was super antsy waiting for this show to start, but totally entranced once it did!! We were in the lion section, which is where I was last time!! I was stoked. I’m a big fan of lions!! Woohoo!!

Hmmm…what would we do next. We still had a couple of fast passes!!

So glad that you are liking your new job! New jobs are always tough to start, and it sounds like they gave you a run for your money, but you handled it like a champ!

Do I even need to say it? Nope, but I will anyway....awesome update! Love the pics from EE! I have to say I love that ride but with my motion sickness I can only ride it once per trip... Flametree sounds yummy! We have never eaten there, and will miss it on our December trip since have an ADR at Yak & Yeti.

The pics of you guys in front of EE are all so good! The lighting and everything is perfect! Poor Landon and teething! I know how horrible that is! Olivia was getting her 2 year molars on last years trip, and was living on teething tablets and orajel!

I'm so glad you were able to see FOTLK!!! It is by far our favorite show in all of WDW and we cannot go to AK without seeing it at least once! We have probably seen it about 15 times and every single time we have sat in the warthog section!! I think I might have a heart attack if they seated us somewhere else! Olivia and I love the acrobat monkeys and my DH loves the "fire guy" as Olivia calls him.

Once again, I can't wait for another update!

I'm glad you've settled into your job nicely-- my commute is 45 minutes, but once I get over the terrible rush-hour zone, I can enjoy my iPod and the peace. It's nice!

I've never tried Flame Tree BBQ but thinking about going there this trip. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ sauce but I'm sure I can find something I'll like. I don't know much about the CS places in AK. That's the one park I feel like I'm slacking on!

Last time we saw FOTLK, we were in the warthog section. I want to see the show again. It's one of my favorite movies.

It's a good thing you got it right there and then, wouldn't want you forgetting about it! I know if I would've been like "I'll get it when we're leaving" I totally would have forgotten, and we normally only go to AK once a trip, so I would've lost my chance.
