Wish I had thought of that name. :thumbsup2

For those interested in an over-the-top Food & Wine experience, you may want to consider the Grape Getaway.

A bit too pricy for us. :scared1:

Wow. Sounds like a heck of a long weekend, but holy cow. It is costly! :scared1:

I also find it interesting that Disney would release such a well thought out Flash animation for something so costly - and yet miss the glaring typos on the intro screen. Accomodations will be as Disney's BoardWalk Inn. They obviously need someone with an English degree to help them out with their proofreading. :wave2:

Certainly agree about it being costly. Even without accommodations, its still a lot of bucks.

There's been a lot of discussion on the Restaurant Board's Food and Wine Festival board on the lack of advance information for the Grape Getaway. Details were supposed to be released shortly after the Tables in Wonderland preview of the F&W Festival a few weeks ago. People were waiting for the details to decide if they wanted to do the Grape Getaway or some of the F&W special events (which are non-refundable or transferable) but the information didn't come out until a few hours before booking for F&W events (many of which sell out in the first few hours). Speculation was that it was rushed. I didn't look at it too closely because I wasn't going to shell out over $2,203 per person for a 3 night, 2 1/2 day experience. Some people who were interested indicated even the information released in the Flash presentation didn't have enough detail to decide on spending that kind of money (e.g. the specific chefs, wineries, menus).

I'll certainly agree with those points.

Not that I could seriously consider spending that kind of money (times 2) on a whim, but more information and advance notice would have helped.

A friend of mine calculated out the non-accommodation portions vs. booking similar things on your own, and she says it would cost around $400 more with the package.

Highway robbery, plain and simple. The people shelling out the big bucks to live on Vista Drive are probably booking this package. :rotfl2:

While I'm sure they'll do a fine job, if I'm going to fork over $2000 per to be wined and dined on a Grape Getaway it's going to be in Tuscany or Napa -not Florida!

Also, they need a no accomodations, no tickets option. Most of the folks that would consider this already have park admission.

That was my thought too. We've got AP's so we wouldn't need the admission.
