The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

I got into the Oscar Meyer houseparty- Cocina de mi mama. I can't wait to see the package- I know it has an apron and lots of recipe cards. I have missed a few houseparties from not responding fast enough- that is a bummer!!

I got in. I got the Kaplan Dream School House Party! Part of the package is DD gets the class for free - $1149 value - free! I am tickled PINK!

Wow!!!:scared1: That IS crazy good news!!! Congrats! That has to be the most expensive freebie yet !!!:yay: (was that considered and oxymoron? expensive freebie??)

thats excellent! What a value!

Ive stopped applying for house parties. At one point I got nearly every one i signed up for. As the word got out (and man it did)... i'd say ive applied for over 15 and not accepted to one. Its almost like a waste of time for me to apply now.

I only applied to 2- for both, I got e-mails telling me I am a LOSER!

19 days Alesia....I'm jealous! :guilty: Have a great time!!!! :thumbsup2

Up late decorating DD's birthday cake...she will be 7 tomorrow...my how the time flies :sad2: It seems like yesterday I was finding out I was pregnant.

Thinking of you all....Hadley??? I hope your at least in lurk mode? Some others we haven't seen much of lately either :guilty: I hope all is well for you all.

Cute cake!!!

I am around- I am trying to work more during the day- interesting concept:rolleyes: I used to take a few breaks here and there, but I have not done that in a while.

At night, DH gets mad if I tell him to put on a show that I want to watch ....... and then go on the computer:rotfl2: Hey- I can multi-task:lmao: He just does not believe me.

:lmao: :rotfl2:I was not sure what Cocina de mi mama meant so I translated it to english- I think something got lost in traslation, this is what the website I was on said that it means:

Cooks of my breast

:lmao::rotfl2: I am PEEING myself!:lmao:

 That is pretty funny! Did you use babel fish? I think the translation should be My mother's kitchen. The houseparty comes with Oscar meyer coupons. Babel fish translated that the coupons are for sausage whistles.....:lmao:

Oh- I just wanted to add a little story about kids getting older..........

I cannot believe how fast Karlee is growing up! She is 7 now. About 2 weeks ago I was at SILs house and Karlee was crying about mom and dad not letting her sleep at her little best friend's house.

She said, and I quote "THEY NEVER LET ME DO ANYTHING! THIS IS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!"

Is that supposed to come out of a 7 year old's mouth this soon!!??:confused3:lmao:

That one sounded really great. I was bummed that I didn't get it. I have missed a few house parties for the very same reason. I get so much junk emails that I accidentally ignore the important ones.

I had to give my Carly "the talk" the other day. She already has a pretty good understanding of where babies come from, but I had to tell her about what to expect when she gets her first period.

She's still a few years away from that, but I wanted her to know before her friends start talking about it.

I'm glad I've always been really honest and direct about everything so far. It made everything so much easier, but it was still awkward.

I can't believe all of a sudden, she seems so much older! I feel like I missed something in between baby and now.

Oh, BTW- your pics are great! It looks like had great weather the whole time.

Tell me about it...

Fortunately, she is a very scientifically-minded girl and doesn't get overwhelmed about it.

All of my friends have daughters who are younger than Carly, so they're all really interested to know how I deal with things like this. Copycats!

The weather was beautiful. It sprinkled most of the day we were at Epcot. Actually it was more like misting than sprinkling. It really kept the crowds down, though.

Other than that, it was sunny every day. On the day we left it was 90 degrees. When we got home it was 28 degrees.

Just think of it as a service you are providing!:thumbsup2

SIL told me Karlee came home one day and told her that a little boy on the bus said he loved her:rotfl2:

I have 10 yr old twin girls(almost 11 yrs old) who are doing this same thing but worse. It's like they are already teenagers. I don't ever remember being that way when I was 10. :confused3 My friend says she has the same problem with her 13 yr old daughter. Her daughter got in trouble for backtalking her and the daughter went to her school therapist to complain about getting into trouble. Then she decides she needs to be away from her mom for a couple days. So one weekend, she spends Friday at her friend's house and Saturday at her grandmother's. Thankfully, her grandmother talked some sense into her and she ended up apologizing to her mom. But I just can't believe a kid would be behaving that way at 13. That seems more like something a 16 yr old would do.

:scared1: She "needed to be away" from her mom?! What does that mean anyway- how can that cross a child's mind? Maybe when you are 16 you might think, wow, I can't wait to grow up and live on my own, and you get mad at your parents- but I don't think I ever felt like I needed to get away from them.

I think we talked about this before- but when I said I was running way- my mom told me not to let the door hit me in the a$$ on the way out!

Maybe your friend's daughter has a lot more going on inside than your average 13 yr old:confused3

No clue what is going on with her. I couldn't believe it either when she said she "needed to be away" from her mom. Her mom is a classmate of mine for a class I'm taking right now, not as much friend as acquaintance and she gets a bit dramatic at times. So perhaps her daughter is taking after her regarding that. :confused3 I don't know her all that well to know what is really going on. Her situation just shocked me. :scared1: Because if either of my kids did something like that, I'd be more likely to respond similiar to the way your mom did to you saying you were running away. She just kind of let it happen.

I thought since I'm posting on here again and it's been a long time, I'd introduce myself. That way I'm not just a lurker anymore. I'm Kelly, a mom to twin 10 yr old fraternal twins. I've been a member of the Dis since 2006 but have had times where I don't post as much. I love WDW. It just feels so magical and wonderful when I'm there. There is not another place I've been that makes me feel that way. I know it sounds silly but there is something really magical about WDW. And I can't wait to share that with my daughters. Anyways, hope you all are having a wonderful day. Oh, also, I LOVE the freebie board. Everytime a freebie comes in the mail, it feels like I'm getting a present in the mail. It's definitely kind of a little boost to my day :woohoo:plus getting to try all the new stuff is pretty awesome too. :thumbsup2
