Now my 10 & 7 year olds can tell you that is a busted urban legend.
MythBusters did a few episodes with vodka myths. They took the cheap vodka and passed 1 through 6 times through the carbon filter, the cheap unfiltered and a high end vodka and tasted tested with an expert and two MythBusters. The filtered vodka did tasted better than the unfiltered but it was anywhere near as good as the high end stuff. So says MythBusters.

That is great! Those guys and bust any myth!

You know what is another good vodka- remember that freebie we posted about a year ago for the Pravda Vodka!? It was not a free sample of the vodka- it was actually a rebate. Anyway, by receiving the info from them, I thought I would give it a try- they had those tiny bottles at the liquor store checkout line and I bought one- OMG- DH and I were just sipping the stuff straight from the bottle it was that good (and smooth!) http://pravdavodka.com/pravda.htm

We did not take any pics while we were AT lunch. Just ouside of the restaurant. The few I have pretty much look the same as the one I posted.

Yes- Savannah is just so beautiful. I said to DH, we do not have to tour any of the buildings- we are just having fun peeking into everyone's yards and into their gates! You can stand in front of a house for quite a while just admiring everything! I wish I had gotten some pics of the houses with gas laterns on their porches and in their yards.

Good afternoon Freaps! We are finally getting some cool weather and I am enjoying it so much. DH is out of town until tomorrow so we have been doing lots of crafts and baking. Now I have a fire going and had soup for lunch. Mmmmmm. The kids had a great time at the library this morning at a Halloween party. I went all cheapo on costumes this year, but they don't seem to know/care. DS wore a hand-me-down dragon suit that DD kept teasing him and saying "It's a GIRL dragon." DD decided she wanted to be Jesse from Toy Story 2, so I bought a red cowboy hat and she wore that with jeans, vest and cowboy boots. She already has the long red hair so she was all set. We are going trick-or-treating at my inlaws neighborhood Friday night with all my nephews. It's an older neighborhood and they always decorate their houses and give TONS of candy. Of course, Mom and Dad will have to "check" and make sure everything is safe....especially the Reese cups. Hope all the freaps are enjoying Fall this year.

I don't think we are doing anything Halloween. We have never had trick-or-treaters up here and DS is going out with friends that night. I am still sick and on antibiotics now so I don't think the cold night air would be good for me anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few pictures of costumes, though.

awwww You could come to my house! Hope you are feeling better soon.

My house just seems like the "hub" for Halloween. I am going to have some food this year everyone.

Some people end up staying at the house to give out candy and some walk around- I usually give out some candy until it gets dark and then I pass the buck and walk around.

It is supposed to be 60 and sunny on Friday during the day! That means it is going be crispy cold for Halloween night! Right now it is crazy outside! Raining, windy and freezing cold! They said in some areas of PA they are calling for snow flurries.

Not sure if any of you were watching the World Series last night- but it is STILL just as crappy today as it was last night- no baseball for the guys today, that is for sure. Maybe tonight................

I have some pics of my yard for Halloween- me and some of my friends will be at the Spirit Halloween shop @ 8:45am this Sat to grab up some more decorations @ the day after sale! They open @ 9! We are like Black Friday freaks- but we don't like x-mas.

I did get them all last year! But I do not think he is the special one you are talking about- I think you are talking about the one I had to grab up for my friend b/c she could not make the sale......

This is the special dude- he shakes when you get near him
She picked it up at my house last year and she put him in her front seat with put the seatbelt around him Can you imagine looking over at her passenger side while stopped at a red light and seeing him. "that is one ugly kid!"

How is the barn painting coming along- probably too cold now and you are sick!

Ah, yes, I remember him now. I think putting him in the car is a great idea...sounds like something my DH would do.

I got the one design almost finished. DH painted the building red and some of the red paint splashed down onto the quilt paint so it needs some touching up. I am supposed to be painting that and the other wall this week as it is in the upper 50's and this may be the warmest it gets for awhile. I wanted to wait and get photos after the finishing touch up.

One of the neighbor's fences runs very close to the bedroom side of the house and, for some reason, they have been letting their dogs out all night and they have been barking a good part of the night. They barked until 1am last night and someone must have called them and complained because they brought them in the house and they could still be heard barking the rest of the night. My backside has been dragging all day. I should have been out there painting today. Maybe I can get out there tomorrow. I have been going outside every few days and the sun has been feeling good.

I have been wondering about Tinker and how she is doing. If she had something like this...she was probably down for quite a while. Whatever this creepin' crud is, it seems to be across the whole state, by what DH has been hearing.
