Wow, sounds like you guys had a great time in Savannah! DH almost took a job there a while ago (I had asked HRH back then what it was like living there!) I wish it would have worked out, because it seems like such an awesome place. Great pictures! Can I ask, what was the name of the place you stayed? It sounds awesome.
We stayed at the Whitaker-Huntington Inn. It was nice. Like I said- I was not too fond of the dated furnitute in the "living room" but I liked the feel of having your own place. DH said- he prefered the breakfasts that you get at B&Bs. I like to wait to eat until lunch time, so I enjoyed not having to eat a big breakfast and then missing out on a yummy lunch.
You know what was REALLY odd- that was also a minus in my book, their water smelled like rotten eggs

I said to DH- "why bother taking a shower?"
I did not want to ask the Innskeeper about it- but HRH do you know if this is normal for the city?
IF anyone is planning a trip soon, of course, be sure to have lunch with HRH

and 2 other places that you must try that I learned about on Trip Advisor was,
The Soho South Cafe on Liberty Street, right in town- nice and casual- a lot of locals. And you will need to drive to the 2nd place, it is called
Toucan Cafe, it is on Stephenson Street- it seemed like a lot of the locals where there too.
DH and I like to eat at places the locals eat- b/c you know it is good. We are not too much into the touristy places. Both places had great veggie selections too! I usually do not have a hard time choosing a meal when we go out (b/c no one bothers to worry about putting good veggie meals on their menus) anyway- at both places I had a hard time choosing b/c they had quite a few veggie selections! HRH, be sure you and DH try both of these places!
And my drink of choice for this vacation was, no, not my chocolate martinis- it was Grey Goose and Tonic! OMG- Grey Goose is what good vodka should taste like!
We also ended up driving to Tybee Island. It is about 20 minutes out from Savannah- we did not get out of the car. No offense to any Tybee Island lovers here, but being from the Jersey Shore area- there is NO comparrison!

I did not get the appeal. But- that is just me.
