The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

Would you share your recipe. That is---if it's not too hard!

Sure. Hopefully I can remember it right since I never even look in the cookbook I make it so often. It's in the "How to Cook Everything" cookbook which I highly recommend.:thumbsup2

Pizza Dough

3 cups flour(I always use 1 cup whole wheat and 2 cups white)
1 tsp. active dry yeast
1 tsp. sea salt
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 1/4 cup luke warm water

Put all dry ingredients in food processor and pulse until mixed. During this step I sometimes will add some oregano and garlic powder to the dough. Then drizzle in olive oil while running and add water slowly until a ball forms(may not need all the water). Turn onto a floured surface and just knead until it all forms a soft ball. Put in a bowl with about 1 tsp. olive oil and turn until it is coated on all sides. Cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel. Then you can put it in the fridge and leave it all day or just let it go ahead and rise for about an hour or so and use it then. Divide into two pieces and roll those into balls and then let them sit for about 20 minutes covered with a towel or plastic wrap until they puff slightly. Then just roll them(or toss them around your head if so inclined:laughing: ) out and put on a baking sheet(I usually dust the baking sheet with cornmeal first) and throw whatever you have on hand on top. Then I bake in a really hot oven(about 425) until they get done. It normally takes about 10-15 minutes.

This recipe makes two pizzas that are about 12 inches I guess. It feeds our family of four generously with a few leftover pieces, but my kids are small so take that into consideration. I have also frozen this dough with great results. Just wrap in plastic wrap and put down in a ziploc freezer bag and then pull it out and let it come to room temp. before using. And don't forget the:drinking1 .

Baking homemade pizza sounds really good this Friday evening! :cool1: It just keeps getting colder here....actually, baking anything sounds good! And it will warm up the house a little too.

Bozeman is under winter storm warnings since last night! :headache:

Thanks Marna. I think this will be something for DD and her buddies to make

My cousin in Buffalo, WY sent me an email today saying their ground was already white and that the temp. wasn't going to be over freeezing today. I'm so jealous.:headache: I told him that I was packing up the family and heading that way.:rotfl2:

Our pizza turned out great. We went to the pumpkin patch and did a hayride and the corn maze and then came home and assembled. We did one with homemade pizza sauce I canned last month, pepperoni and mozzarella and the other one with homemade pesto, parmesan and the last of the summer Roma tomatoes. Very tasty.:thumbsup2 I had two beers and am about to pass out. Unfortunately, I have to work in the morning:sad2: , so goodnight Freaps.

You have a cousin in Buffalo?? We were going to drive down there and check out the area Thanksgiving weekend to see what we think of moving there. :rotfl2:

DH drove through that area a couple of years ago and said it looked like a nice farming area. He wants to get a closer look and talk to some people around there about farming.

I am surprised you have the energy to keep at it as long as you have today. Ahh...youth! ;)

I found a couple of pictures in my camera that the CMs took. They were escorting the characters and they took our photos while the Photopass CM took photos.

We stood in line to catch Pooh and the gang for this photo. They had a "changing of the characters" when we got there and had to wait a few minutes for them to come back. The couple in front of us was also wearing 'anniversary pins' and she told her husband, "See, we aren't the only ones without kids that are standing in line to have our photos taken". He nodded so I think he felt better about waiting for Pooh and Tigger. :rotfl:

We were passing through Epcot when we saw this princess and her CM escort standing around talking. I don't know if she had just come out and no one noticed her yet or what but we just walked up and had our pictures taken without waiting. She congratulated DH on the anniversary pin while the Photopass CM was prepping and DH asked her if she would like to meet up with HIM at the English pub to celebrate. She asked him if there was going to be a party and he winked at her and told her "yes". She was so sweet I don't think she got that this old guy was trying to pick up on her. ;)

I took some Dollar Store anniversary decorations with us and decorated our room. We came back to our room one evening to find this surprise waiting on the bed for us.

We met the nicest people this trip! I wish I had taken more pictures...people who had been so kind and accommodating to us. As we walked through the parks with our anniversary pins on, other couples also celebrating their anniversaries would yell over a greeting and wave at us as we passed them in the crowds! It was great fun!

Net pics, MT. I never see Pooh with anyone. it would be neat to get a pic of him with Eeyore and Tigger.

Thanks for the pizza dough recipe Marna--I will have to buy yeast now.

They were so cute! Pooh and Tigger kept tapping my anniversary pin and blowing me kisses! I could hear someone saying "Awwwww" and then I realized it was me!! :rotfl2: But, they were so CUTE....! :rotfl:

I love the pictures. DH will not have his picture taken with any of the the gang.
Me I am always chasing Mickey.

I love that area. My cousin lives out of town close to Crazy Woman Creek Canyon:laughing: . I think I need to live there.:lmao: I'm not sure how many acres he has but he doesn't have any close neighbors and has several horses.:confused3 I'm sure he wouldn't mind giving you advice if you are serious in moving there. Then I would have TWO places to visit and could stay even longer.

I love your pictures. You look so cute with your rugged DH. I think an anniversary trip sans kids would be great. Maybe someday.....

I was dragging DH to every character I happened to see...after the Aurora photo, he didn't drag his feet any more. :rotfl2:

Ok, you and I would have to toss a coin for the Crazy Woman Creek Canyon rights! ;) DH said he thought it looked like a really nice place and then I started researching it online and it appears to be a tourist destination, according to their Chamber of Commerce. Have you been there? Is it touristy? I think it would be a good idea to talk to your cousin when we get down there. DH wants to drive over to Billings and spend the night and then head down to Buffalo. He wants to talk to some realtors and any locals he can. :goodvibes

I should have added a statement to the Tigger/Pooh photo that you guys have no idea how long it took me to get DH to wear "tennies", let alone white ones, with shorts instead of work boots! ;)

Just thought I would stop and check in. I am so busy right now with mid terms that I am not getting much freap chat and freebie browsing in. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this nice weather. At least it is nice here. Just on a fun note I did get to work at an archaeological dig site this last friday and I did find a 700 year old dear tooth and bone fragments from human remains. We also recovered to arrow points as this site was from a native american village from around 700 to 800 years ago. This was so cool.

How exciting! I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but before I discoverd my true passion was baking, archaeology was my thing. I was a history major in college and worked for the US Forest Service as a seasonal archaeologist in California. I planned on going back to college for field school but somehow got trapped into being a forest ranger/firefighter instead.:confused3 Funny how things happen. Hope your mid-terms go well for you and that you will get a break soon.

Thanks I really love this so far. :goodvibes

This is turning into such a funny/weird week! On top of everything else, DS just came in and told me they are doing "A Christmas Story" for their play at the high school this year. Then, he told me he won the part of "Ralphie". OMG!

It's a good thing this is his senior year!! I wouldn't want him to be called "Ralphie" the rest of his years in school! :rotfl:
