The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

I am definately going to have a homemade marinara type sauce, and I read an alfredo recipe on allrecipes that you use with chicken that I'm considering...I hadn't thought of a traditional pesto, but I do have some of the Classico sundried tomato pesto that I frequently use that I was going to put out. I also read a recipe for a garlic butter sauce that I just have to include because it sounds sinful (I figured it could be basted around the crust! yum!)

As for toppings...you're right, the possibilities are endless! I am definately going to carmelize some onions (but I'm addicted to onions anyway...I have them almost everyday for breakfast and always in some way with dinner!) I thought I would saute up some peppers and mushrooms, then have some olives, artichoke hearts, pineapple and several different meats, like sausage, pepperoni, ham, grilled chicken, and bacon. Oh...and several cheeses like mozzerella, fontina, feta, parmesan, and goat....

Am I forgetting anything? Or do you think anyone would notice?:lmao:

How'd ya do? I was the same way when my twins started preschool... a nervous wreck for months and tears after I dropped them off

They are in 3rd grade now- this year we went from a tiny private school to a larger public school and I was still a nervous wreck- even with 8 year olds! I can't even imagine sending them off to college... guess we'll be back here for support from all those who've 'been there, done that'!!

LOL, we did ok, thanks for asking. She ran into the class without saying as much as a bye or a hug, but she did come back to give me one...I was good, I cried a little in the car but not in front of her; but only a little. ;) Today was much better, she comes out of class saying "I love school!"...woo hoo! :goodvibes

 Ladies! We're on page 3!!!:scared:
Well, I almost have the sight back in my eye, so the computer is not making me so wiggy today. I have to share this- it really made me laugh.
I am sorting out my mail today- received the roll of TP from Walmart. So, my DH12 asks, "What's from Walmart?'
I answer, "It's a roll of toilet paper."
DH12:"Walmart sent us a roll of toilet paper from their bathroom??":scared1:

Hey all! Pizza night was such a success! We had so much fun! I just put out all of the different fixings and then I rolled out the dough and my hubby grilled them. Then we just all took turns hollering out combinations and we just were whipping them on and finishing them off and putting all the different options on a big cutting board and passing it around. We made 8 different kinds and every single one was delicious! I highly recommend everyone doing this kind of party, it was a blast! There were 4 couples, one brought a huge salad, one brought dessert, and one brought wine...It was fantastic!

 Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend, too!

Just got the Living Green houseparty!!:woohoo: My DS will be so happy- he really does love to plant wildflowers! It says the party comes with packs of wildflower seed and Brita coupons :confused3 .

AWM- I'd be glad to! Send me a pm now, and I'll send you one when they arrive. (BTW, I have no idea exactly what they'll be for, but you're welcome to share in my mystery!:goodvibes )

I was just about to ask how the pizzas went!

So... did you do a homemade crust? A mix? My kids love cooking and pizza, DH loves to grill and I found a recipe for pizza dough in the bread machine... I like short cuts ;)

I'm thinking this sounds like a fantastic idea for this weekend!

Actually I have seen pizza dough in several of our grocery stores in the bakery section, so I was at Sweetbay and I didn't see any, but I asked the lady working if they had any and she told me yes, but they keep them in the freezer now because they have to throw them out if they sit out and thaw and rise without anyone purchasing them. They were only !.49 a piece and I bought 4 then cut them in half. Each half was approximately 8x11 or so (I rolled them out really rustic) so 4 doughs made ALOT of pizza! I know that a lot of pizza restaurants will also sell you their dough, but I'm sure it's more expensive. I have made dough from scratch before, but it was a pain and I think this was just as cheap if not cheaper without the hassle!

It was actually so much fun, my kids have already told me they want to do it on their birthdays next year! Fun for the whole family!

Well I did not end up baking today. I went to medpoint instead. On thursday I thought i got bit by a bug or got into something I should of becasue I ended up with this little bumps on my arm. No biggie right. Well this kept getting bigger and today the spot burned something fierce. So I decided to get it check out. They told me I had a staph infection in the area that probley started out as a spider bite. Can you believe that it only took 4 days to turn into something awful. I just wanted to cry its been a long weekend with dh being sick and now this ohhhhhhhhhh boy. Watcha gonna do. On a postive note I got in the green house party. I am glad to hear the pizza were a hit and it seems like more of us made it into this houseparty. I am always willing to share my goodies. So I will let everyone know what I get.

:surfweb: time to chill

:grouphug: Sorry you had such a stressful weekend! I guess the bright spot in the whole mess is that DH can't "catch" what you got and complain that his illness is worse than yours

WOW!!! What a weekend you guys have all had...pizza's  , spider bites :scared1: , toilet paper in the mail  , sight coming back :woohoo: , twins starting school :sad1: house parties getting accepted  and not :sad2: , I hopefully everyone else had a good weekend too!

We (DH, DD6, DS7, & I) spent the weekend in the White Mountains (NH). We have taught our children to really appreciate the beauty of nature so we heard quite a few "mom/dad look at _____, thats beautiful, etc., plus they had a ton of fun at the hotel we stayed at and we took them to Storyland. We stayed at a hotel that had a 40,000sq ft water park attached so it was super fun!

Can you imagine living here

Oh boy, what a weekend! I hope you're feeling better now (DH too) and that your week will be a pleasant one!

How fun! Those are great photos, your kiddos are too cute!!!

DD caught a cold, I don't want to blame it on preschool but I have a feeling that's where she caught it from. She won't be back in school until Thursday but we'll see how she's feeling then, I'll keep her home if she's still got drippy nose. My poor baby, I feel so bad. Hope everyone had a great weekend! :flower3:
