The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

Happy Black Friday, everyone!

I hope you are all safe and sound. We avoided the stores today and spent the day at the zoo. Carly took notes about the status of all the animals:

The ducks were happy. The geese were pushy. Franklin and Renee (the camels) were hairy. Daphne the lion was coughing up a hairball (seriously.) The tapir had, as was described by the 70 year old lady standing next to me, a tremendous erection. :lmao: :lmao:

Fortunately Carly didn't write that down, although she did say, "Mom, I can see his 'you know what!'" :rotfl:

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a very good time with all of DH's family at our house. It was a little rowdy at times with 8 kids but we survived. Today we are just relaxing and hanging out. I should be putting up Christmas decorations but just can't get in the right mindset.:confused3

I have all my decorations up inside and out! That is SO not me! I only put up the tree and decorated inside b/c of having Thanksgiving dinner here (20 peeps). And yesterday I put all my greens on my fence and porch, added some lights and bows, and now I just have to add the candles in my windows and I am done!

I am so glad I have it done early or else I would have skipped it all again this year! I downloaded a Celtic xmas CD onto my iTunes and playing that put me in the mood as I was going along.

I did NOTHING on Black Friday- I do not wish to subject myself to freaks, who have been standing in a line since MIDNIGHT:rolleyes: rushing a store for a computer worth 100 bucks:sad2: and they only have one available. I do not need ANYTHING that bad that it cannot wait. No thanks. If I need to go out, I will so so during the week after 7pm. Less freaks. The less freaks around me, the better, I say:lmao: I will be willing to pay FULL price just so I do not have to encounter craziness thank you very much!:thumbsup2

Me and 2 of my friends are going to NYC next week- so that will be fun! Doing the tourist thing in Manhattan etc. And of course, going for pizza @ John's!!!:cool1: Oh Mamma Mia is that good stuff!!!!

Hey
We are also having a lazy day. We went to my brothers in laws for Thanksgiving. So on Saturday I cooked a turkey so we would have left overs.

I myself also stayed in on Friday. People are way to crazy like Madd said.
I am still in shock over the stuff that happened at the Walmart and Toys are us.:sad2:

Dh has two job interviews in the morning. So hopefully something will pan out

Crossing my fingers for DH!!!! I know a few Dis'ers who's husbands have been laid off or are having work problems!:grouphug: :sad2:

You know- I remember years ago when Black Friday would be.....normal! Me and mom would go to the mall- WHEN THEY OPENED AT THEIR REGULAR TIME! And leave by 11 or 12 when the crowds started getting a little bigger. It was that simple. No craziness! It was not that long ago- maybe 10 years ago?? What the heck is happening with these people?

Honestly, I blame the stores and the media for things getting so out of hand. Open up at your regular time, everyone act like human beings and do not turn it into a giant freak-fest! Just SETTLE DOWN :sad2:

Kellie-I will be sending positive thoughts your way in the morning. Ya'll deserve some good luck.

I'm not a "shopper" type Freap on the best of days, so I avoid Black Friday like the plague. Like Madd said, there is no deal worth all that.:confused3 Plus, I actually have most of the shopping done for the kids already. We have been on such a low budget I have been trying to spread it out over the last few months. The kids are still young enough to not realize that I haven't spent a ton of money. Next Sunday is when we are going to the Smokey Mountains so that is mine and DH's gift for each other. We got free tickets to Dollywood from Coke Rewards and are doing a timeshare presentation:scared1: for our hotel room. I'm not too concerned about sitting through a long pitch. After all, we will have the demon kids from he** with us. I figure they will cut their spiel short just to get rid of us.:lmao: We are also going to ride the tram up the mountain and go ice skating at the top. The kids will love it.:goodvibes Someday, I really hope to take them to NYC to skate in Rockefeller Center by the big tree. I have been to New York but not during the holidays and DH and the kids have never been.:sad2: We are going to wait until they are a little older so we can see a few plays and get the total effect. Now, a weekend with Madd sounds like a whole lot of fun as well but I don't recall being invited.:rolleyes1

Hey there Kellie, just out of curiosity, what type of work does your husband do, or is looking to do? You never know, I may know someone that needs someone and yada yada yada. We are both in MA.

:lmao: I am PEEING!

Has anyone seen the movie Two Weeks Notice with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock?

I have seen this movie about 10 times and I crack the heck up @ Hugh every single time:rotfl2:

Madd- I have 2 $50 Gift Cards to Picholine in NY, NY. Not sure if you are interested. I have no idea what this restaurant is.... I got it off some thread or something- they were free. If you want them Ill send them to you! I dont know anyone else who would use them.

I have all my Christmas stuff up! Ill have to take photos throughout the house & outside and put them up. Here are some photos we took the night DH and I took our "Christmas Card Photo"...lol (I took the red eye out of the photos so now our eyes look black- lol)

Thank you SO much for offering me the GCs!!! However, we HAVE to eat at John's. (it is very good) I have a neurotic friend who must eat pizza every day of her life (I swear!!!) She eats pizza at lunch everyday- anyway- she is SO picky, we have to keep her calm:lmao: It gets ugly if she does not eat what she wants!

Now me and my other friend would want to do a fancy lunch someplace cool , but it will not happen. :guilty:

Your pics are great! You know something, when I got my dark rimmed glasses last year, I thought of you. You look so adorable in them- you were my role model:dance3:

Thanks girls!!

LOL Madd.. you are cracking me up with the dark rimmed glasses stuff. I wore them back before they were cool. I think I got my first pair when I was a freshman in HS... thats been a while ago.

Love the holiday pics! I don't think DH would ever do a family pic :confused3 at least not a posed one ;)

I wonder where IAHD is?
hello.gif

I was around some yesterday but only really checking in on things. I took the day off from work and didn't get online till after the kids went to school so I didn't get to starting the new week of freebies and I figured a "regular" would pick up my slack :flower3: I then had to go to the registry (DMV) to get a new liscense (I tried to renew online but it had been too long so I needed a new picture :headache: ) and then I went shopping for the day and went out to lunch by myself. It was odd to go into stores/a restaurant and not have to worry about what someone else wants, touches, etc. But it was also really nice. Then last night after the kids got out of school we had to run to BJ's to pick up a couple things, then my inlaws stopped by to drop off some stuff, and then I put on the Grinch (the non-animated Jim Carrey version) for the kids and promptly fell asleep on the couch
