The Good, Bad and Ugly of switching Resorts?

Heading over for a much needed vacation in June, and thinking of switching resorts for the first time.

How hard is it to transfer, what steps have to be taken, we will NOT have a vehicle so I am not even sure if it can be done.

Can you switch to Swan or Dolphin? or only Disney Owned resorts?

Thinking of Pop or CBR/CSR first then possibly Poly/Beach Club/Wilderness or Dolphin for second half of trip.

Does it take away from the Flow of the vacation, does it cut into your day somehow?

I switched once from Poly to CSR....vacation to a conference.

I had no problems what so ever having my luggage transfered and I ended up taking a cab from the Poly to the CSR because I had some clothes on hangers that had been laundered and I didn't want to pack them.

Everything was seemless and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

We've switched. Its all good. No bad. No ugly. You wake up, call the front desk. They send someone for your bags. You check out and head off to play for the day and by the time you arrive at your new resort, your bags will probably be waiting in your room. No muss. No fuss. Go for it and have fun!

To me it all depends on your family makeup. Before our family expanded it was very easy with our boys who were well past "mandatory naps", now that we have our daughters (2,1) there is no way I would split resorts. I couldn't imagine not having a nice room to return to for nap time. When they are past naps we will go backt o splitting resorts when we want to but for now, nope.

We've done it twice, once from POR to POLY and from All Stars Sports to POLY. Both moves went very well and we had no problem at all. We had little kids both times too and it really wasn't an issue.
