The "Get Away From It All" Thread

This was my Spring Break week!!! SO will be home from his latest (4 day) business trip in Texas in less than an hour!! He has to leave again for Chicago (7 days) next Thursday, but we at least have this weekend to try and finalize some stuff on the house we are getting involved in building!! It is no longer snowing!! There has been some talk of planning a WDW vacation with some friends of ours (Scarlett873 and her DH). Even though it is a long way off, it is something to really look forward to!! Last weekend we got one of those secrets to restaurant recipes cookbooks so that we could know how to make my absolutely favorite (but recently discountinued at our local Olive Garden) drink- the Venetian Sunset!! And it tastes exactly the same at home!!

As always, Simba is still the handsomest of them all, and Sunday I'm going to see The Lion King.....yay!:teeth:

They have the walls stood on our new house, and we're getting take-out for supper. Woohoo! :D

I snuck ina Mocha Frappaccino...so sinful, but so yummy :) It was almost 60 degrees today and I was able to take the twins to the park :)

I love this thread!! Someone should start one of these each week! Here's my contribution:

1. It's FRIDAY!
2. My DS 11 and DD 2 are doing a Sesame St. puzzle together on the floor.
3. The cold I've had since Tues. is waving the white flag and
4. I'm on the DIS boards!!!!:jester:

sorry gotta start with bad news BUT it leads to great news.
been out of work for 10 weeks now BUT I've been able to plan a great WDW trip at the end of May with all my free time.

I like to rise when the sun she rises,
Early in the morning,
I like to hear them small birds singing,
Merrily upon the layland.

I woke up this morning (that's always a good start) and when I took Lola out to do her thing watched 2 cardinals "date" :)

I get to bum around the house all day and think I will read a Nora Roberts book.

I'm seeing friends tonight that I haven't seen for a very long time and am very happy about that.

My family is healthy. :)

Nice idea, Ashton!

What a great idea!

Here goes:

The snow is almost gone from our deck - almost time to put the hammock out!

We're healthy, happy, and we even like our jobs - I'm a writer, he's a commercial diver.

My husband has qualified to compete in the USASA Snowboarding Nationals next week as an adaptive (disabled) snowboarder. He has one leg - plus, he's 43, so he's one of the oldest competitors there. I'm so proud!

Things couldn't be better.

Daisy;)

Daisy that is so cool, congrats to your husband! you will have to let us know how he makes out.

What kind of writing do you do?
CC

What could be better than the fact that today's Saturday? :) Plus, I'm headed to my first ever baby shower this afternoon. I'm looking forward to that!

Daisy that is awesome. Congrats ti him. I will keep my fingers crossed for him :)

I woke up and have been lazy. I am going out to replace my camoflauge Mickey that was taken. Then I am going to make meatloaf for dinner, and marinate a CUban roast for tomorrows dinner. Going to get some exercise today, and am planning on just being lazy :)

I am also excited because for the first time since Nov. I can see about 3/4 of my lawn. It is muddy and yucky, but to me after this winter looks awesome :)

Thanks, WebmasterCathyCanada!!!

We're both very excited - I'll let you know how it goes. He competes on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in slalom, GS and boardercross - his favorite!

I'm the arts and recreation editor for a small daily newspaper, and I write the weekly features for that section - plus, I manage the freelancers, edit press releases and lay out my section each week before it goes to press. I also write a biweekly column for the paper's community section. It's so much fun, but a lot of work - sometimes I feel like my brain is full!!!

Good thoughts to everyone, and have a super day,

Daisy;)

Thanks to you, too, glo!

Very cool, Daisy!

Have a Disneyful day everyone!
Cathy

I'm off to WDW in about 10 days, a business trip, but mostly fun, and seeing lots of DIS'ers while I am there. Hope eveyone has a good weekend.
