And there's the rub. What is a "legitimate source"? I got my information on the Solo boycott from Star Wars
youtube channels. It's all they talked about in January, February, March, and April 2018. The moderator of this Disney Rumors and News forum thought "random youtube channels" aren't a valid source of evidence and preferred to hear validation from Disney. I gave him the channel names, some with hundreds of thousands of subscribers and they've been on YouTube for years so he could validate I wasn't just making this up. Even when Solo performed at one-third the box office of Last Jedi this moderator REFUSED to acknowledge there ever was a boycott because Disney never confirmed the boycott. I'm sure to this day he'll tell you there was no Solo boycott.
If the moderator of "Disney Rumors and News" refusing to accept youtube channels as a legitimate source for rumors and wants confirmation from Disney then this is not really a "rumors" forum. Once Disney confirms a story it's not "rumor" it is "news". So you may as well change the name of the forum.
And, if it's not obvious, a company will never confirm they have been boycotted.
