The Future of Fast Pass Plus

Included in the price. I stand corrected.

Sorry. I didn't mean that like it came across. It's the same with "free dining" or any other offer that includes something "free". Trust me, I would order a lot of stuff off TV, whether I need it or not, if I didn't have to pay extra shipping and handling.;)

don't forget about the "free" cookies and hot chocolate at the MVMCP

I didn't take it that way. I was trying to be flippant. It's the internet. Had I been one of the great eight (or seven), I'd of known to use smilies to make my point better. :worship:

May I suggest this one for future use?

Don't be a hater. Not nice!

I dont see where people are telling people to quit complaining. I see people telling people to complain to the people that can do something about it. But some people think that they are doing Disney a service by constantly complaining on a message board about every perceived issue. Sniping seems to popular among some these days.

And like it or not. Try to dismiss it. But not going back to a place that causes you such an issue is a valid rebuttal to the entire argument. Some people who are the most vocal critics have said they are either not going back to wdw or do not plan on going back for many years so they themselves have validated the position that not going back is a very valid response to changes Disney has made that has diminished the value or lessened their vacation experience. That is the beauty about being a consumer and having the right to determine where your money is spent.

You started this thread and asked for opinions. I guess you miss the irony in telling people who are unhappy about this discussion that they should just walk away from it but somehow when people tell others that they should just walk away from disney if they are unhappy is somehow not a valid response. Oh, the irony of it all :confused3

Let me ask you this: throughout this thread have I attacked anyone for their viewpoint? No. If people have had a positive experience have I told them that I think they're lying? No. On the other hand, I am not going to question someone who has had a bad experience and try to blame them for the screw up.
Personally, I have my next vacation planned for April 2015, but I will only be spending 3 days at WDW. In the past I have spent all of my vacation (6 days) visiting the parks. Of course between now and my vacation, I could decide to spend all of my time at other parks if I think my personal aggravation will outweigh any enjoyment I may experience. I am not going to waste my money or my hard earned vacation time being miserable. My goal is to have an excellent vacation and I know I will succeed!
It is so hard for me to turn my back on WDW. I love the resort. I love Illuminations and Wishes most of all. And guess what? I don't have to get FP+ reservations to enjoy either one of these! But its really hard not to complain when I know what magic Disney is truly capable of creating. I am disappointed. I have complained to Disney about MDE and FP+ and what have I received? A form letter.

My purpose in starting this thread was to open a discussion and obviously it has generated a lot of comments. So this is an issue near and dear to
a lot of Disers. I don't think anyone on these boards wants Disney to fail.

I am hoping that WDW looks at these boards and sees what people are saying. Both the positive and the negative.

Suvadoo, you speak for a lot of people (but we are reminded that the DIS is only a small % of guests, that our opinions should best be kept to ourselves if we aren't on the phone, writing letters, emailing, etc to Disney...which I have and will continue to do. There is no way possible this extrapolates out to the GP, those who don't post here). I've been a die hard fan of WDW for 42 years so I've seen it all. I started off on these boards as a huge Disney fan, and found it quite enlightening that there were other freaks like me (us).

I don't respect them anymore (WDW). I don't agree with their vision/focus. A recent example would be the conversion of half the Poly rooms to DVC (with Wilderness Lodge following right behind). By reducing their "hotel" inventory to DVC they show a higher occupancy rate by taking those rooms off the grid. It works for short term gains, and on paper it looks good. I'm pretty sure they will be offering a "free" Mickey Bar with every new DVC purchase in the near future.

They are inviting a bunch of people to commit to come back and see just how much they haven't done. Some see it and some don't. That is just an example of where the disagreements come in to play. It isn't always the obvious subject at hand, but an underlying theme. FP+ is easy to "pick on" because it reminds me of just how much focus they've lost "for the greater good of all".

Change is hard. I fully blame Disney for using their paying guest as lab rats and saying oh well sorry about that here have a sticker.

The Magic has never been in the Disney the corporation, It has always been the magic of the dream to do better then every one else in the "business". Its been the Cast Members that create the magic. Disney the corporation customer service is really gone down hill.

Disney has spoiled us with "free" unlimited fastpasses.

I feel your pain. Maybe Disney should have charged for fastpasses just like all the other big parks did from day one.

Actually, Universal had free "FP" at one time, just like Disney. Then they rolled it into their onsite hotels. Which according to when you go and the price of the hotel room, I get "FP UNLIMITED" for "free" or I spent $50/night for a Deluxe hotel. It just depends on how you look at it. :)

But you havent generated anything new that hasnt already been mentioned before multiple times about the FP+ system. It generate the comments it did because people love to chime in about how much they dislike FP+s. There are those that are fundamentally opposed to the idea and nothing will change their minds. They are also the same people that usually pop up on the outrage thread du jour to snipe at Disney over and over again though many claim to be done with Disney for the short or long term.

I would disagree. There are many that would like to see Disney to fail to one degree or another. They want the whole MM+ initiative to fail as they take every chance to point out any issues...perceived or otherwise. When they use terms like "New Coke", that doesnt indicate that they want Disney to succeed.

And just when we came so far. :rolleyes1

And we have arrived at the "Why Universal is better phase" that every damn thread on here reaches. Yay!

No.We.Haven't. At least not on my dime. I corrected a poster who said that every park has charged for "FP" since the existence of time except Disney (and was posting Universal Express Pass info).

Now back to Disney.

So how much Fp loss is ok? Hundreds instead of thousands? Dozens instead of hundreds?

I'm sorry, but once Disney asks us to reserve in advance, they need to be prepared to carry that out 100% of the time. If that doesn't pan out, they need to have a guest recovery program that doesn't include the phrase "Sorry, but there's nothing I can do".

And did you miss the story about the day the GS line was so long they set up water carts to sell bottled water to the affected customers waiting outside in the heat?

My question is why would people stand in a Guest Service line to fix the fp+?????????

If i was going to stand in a line it would be to ride a ride or see a beloved character.

Because their park tickets disappeared from their bands?
Because their FP+ reservations disappeared from their bands?
Because their bands say they have already entered the parks, although they haven't?
Because Fred doesn't like being called Betty as he enters the park?
Because sometimes you stand in a line to avoid another line (kiosk)?
Because it must be a ride if there is a line?

Now back to Disney.

You are right you had to be on "on property guest" at universal, just show your room key to get in the express lane.

Back to the point of Disney has spoiled us with "free" fastpasses for everyone.

Wish I had a dollar for every off property guess that said " you can't use those machines you have to pay more for that" Which I corrected every one of them. It was fun, It made their day. to see them smile. i will miss it greatly.

One time which I will never forget, Grandmother cried and thanked me like million times for showing her that it was free for everyone. We saw them later that day and she said "Disney was a magical place for her and her granddaughter that day."

Really the general public thinks Disney was like every other park and charges for express lines aka fastpass.

I have been waiting for years for them to charge like the other parks.
