The Fridge Thief Strikes Again... Advice Needed.

hahaha! LOVE it! i used to own "the club"! it was the same color as my car, too. if the op goes the alarm route, she's GOT to set up a camera so we can see the thief's reaction :lmao:

I vote for exploding dye packs!

A lady at my work had the same problem. This is what I suggested to her, but she said she would feel guilty doing it.

Buy a frozen dinner and leave it out in the sun(or on a counter) for a week. Now, refreeze the meal and take it to work and put it in the freezer. I bet that thing would stink to high heaven once it is cooked. Even if it doesn't stink, it would probably make the person sick. Maybe that is cruel, but the person is a THIEF!

I so think this is the way to go---but don't think you can leave it in the sun, but I would leave it our a few days and then re-seal the box. I college
(many years ago) we had a girl who use to steal all sorts of food from people. One night we made the infamous ex-lax brownies. Well, to say the least we found out who it was the next morning, and it never happened again.

Put it in a brown paper bag and label it "Stool sample--must be kept frozen". :lmao:

Seriously, though, that is terrible that your food is being stolen! I hope you can resolve this soon!!

You could also put a note inside the box that says, "Smile, you are being filmed", or something like that.

I also like the two zippers and lock idea.

I like the idea of putting the dinners into plain brown bags and stapling them shut. Hooooo....just had a GREAT idea, but this will take a little bit of planning.

Take all the dinners out of their cardboard boxes, maybe putting the instructions inside the bags.
Put them *all* into brown paper bags, stapling the bags shut.
Take one of those empty boxes, put the empty box in the bag *BUT*
Put some ice cubes or water, something that will have the weight of a 'dinner' into the plastic tub from a previous dinner...

See where I'm going with this?

You're setting up a decoy but put the decoy on top of your brown-bagged dinners. Maybe even put the decoy into a reallllllly-nice Lean Cuisine box...

So Little Miss Food-Thief will get a box, think it's something wonderful and will get instead?...
a tub of frozen water.

That way, you're not poisoning the person by giving them laxative-filled brownies or something similar, you're just giving the thief some warm/hot water (if they think frozen water resemble a Lean Cuisine). Maybe even put a note in the box saying something like "If you really needed it I would have given you a lunch or dinner if you had asked, instead you had to *steal* it from me."

agnes!

You beat me to it...

I'd put it in a plain brown lunch bag and staple it all the way across like a grab bag. That would be pretty ballsy to steal when you don't know what's inside...

And this is what I shall do.

What is something really stinky that is brown or "food" colored that I can mix with the water to freeze into a "food-looking block", but that will stink to high heaven when heated?

I LOVE this idea, agnes!!!

(I will staple and brown bag MY food, but they won't expect it, they will expect to just see a Lean Cuisine, and boy oh boy... :woohoo:

I actually wouldn't put anything in it other than water, if you ****y-trap the decoy 'food' it could have repercussions...hmmm....well, you could always take brussel sprouts and/or cabbage, dice into bits and make a brussel sprout ice cube...that would smell yummmmmmmmmy when it's heated in a microwave (sauerkraut would work too).

The beauty of this is that it *is* all food...

And, since I am poor now from having to buy TWICE the food, I reuse my food containers, even the cardboard ones, and actually, I LOVE the taste of brussels sprouts, sauerkraut AND cabbage mixed together with water! YUMMY!!! ;)

Okay, I can't get off that passive aggressive notes website, but I found ANOTHER Lean Cuisine note that is AWESOME!!

I'd be careful that since the food is left alone for so long that if you sabatage that person they may get you back -just as unexpectedly -but may not be as nice as you (with water) - you'd never know it if they took your food out & left it out & then put it back in a few days later.

I like the idea of the cocoa butter - something nasty feeling -

BUT the more I think about it - I think I'd figure out another way to get food for a bit 'cause I just wouldn't trust the food I leave since anything could happen to it. And even if it was in lunchbox they could just leave the whole thing outside.

The only thing you can do is set up a camera & tell your boss or not bring food for a while.:guilty:

Please excuse me but you work in a plane or did I read that wrong?
How many co workers do you have on a flight?

I would suggest to put a raw egg in the food. The one that is cleaning out the oven is the thief. Eggs explode in a micro and make a very bis mess.
Another suggestions is micro pop corn. Pop corn in the package, add oil and let pop away.:rotfl2: You just have to wait and listen.
Ever though of putting Rommedoe ( Limburger stink cheese) or a herring with onions into the package? Heated they smell like hell's kitchen.

Good luck!!!

And last but not least look at this: http://www.streetdefender.com/MC-103C-B.htm

Get an empty Lean Cuisine box, but put something in it to make it feel like it's legit, and put a note inside with the $2. Or, put confetti or glitter inside the box so that when they open the box, the contents fall out and it's a mess they have to clean or explain if anyone is in the room with them.

I lived in my sorority house for a year and a half when I was in college; and spent two summer semesters in the house when we were responsible for our own meals. After the first two weeks of stuff going missing, I put a handwritten sign on the refrigerator door IF IT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU, DON'T TAKE IT. It just amazed me that someone would open the fridge, take out an apple, ask the three other girls in the kitchen, does anybody know who this belongs to? and take it with her anyway - with three people sitting there watching her take something that didn't belong to her.
