Well here I sit in my new house. Everything has been unpacked, put away and found…except for my trip report notes. I have a lovely Vera Bradley notebook that I cherish and jot all kinds of important stuff in. It is beautiful. It is overpriced. It is one of those things that I just had to have. I hope it isn’t in a dumpster with all the crap toys from Happy Meals, Mr. Frick’s holey (not holy) socks, chewed up sippy cup lids and my 15 year old t-shirts that I finally parted with. What I’m trying to say is this, I’m going to have to wing it and try my best to remember what happened. I may pull a HappyHaunt or two, but I’m going to give it a whirl.
We woke up to our third day of Disney with no plans whatsoever other than a late breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. I was up first and the boys got up with me. We quietly got dressed, grabbed some juice and granola bars to snack on, and left Mr. Frick to have a good little sleep in. In my agenda for the day that I had planned out in April, I had us rising early and riding EE before our breakfast. I ditched that idea the night before since we were up so late eating at Chef’s and watching Nemo on the beach. I am glad that I am finally at the point where I can do that. Control Freak Fricky who sometimes can not veer from the plan had disappeared and we were going with the flow.
I knew exactly where I wanted to have our pre-breakfast snack and that was in the rocking chairs right out the back door of the Beach Club. The view is so beautiful there and it was time for us to just sit, rock, snack and talk. The boys and I had such a good time. We people watched. To me, Disney is the best place for some good people watching. The mall just can’t hold a candle to Disney for this sport. I saw so many families rushing to make it somewhere…maybe a park opening, maybe an ADR, maybe a bathroom. I checked out how much gear people pile on themselves for a day of fun. I snickered at the Daddies who were ten steps behind the commando Mommies pushing the strollers. I ooohed and ahhhed over the little tots decked out in princess dresses or blinged out Disney gear. Boy it was nice just to sit back and soak it all in. I reminded our boys just how lucky they were to be there.
After we sat a spell, we headed in to explore the gift shop. The lobby was packed with people waiting for Cape May. As we made our way through, we spotted something utterly amazing. It was a table with two MouseKeepers making towel animals for the children. Say wha? Add another reason to the list of why I love the BC. The boys got in line and ended up getting the towel animal of their desire. We watched them snip off the towel tags and begin the magical transformation of a simple towel to a turtle! They beat the pants off of Kool-Aid the clown who hits a different restaurant in our town every night and twists balloons into fancy shapes. This was so cool because it has always been sooooo mysterious and, as we all know, not everyone gets a towel animal. Here we were walking away with TWO! (Zzub, I know you are getting worked up over there.)
We visited the gift shop and I bought the boys another souvenir for their
Crocs. We picked out some things that we wanted to come back and get later when money bags was with us and before we knew it, our morning was gone. It was time for my favorite breakfast ever cooked by my favorite mouse! My kids still don't understand how Mickey can cook for everybody and be at the MK moments later. We went back to the room and grabbed our gear and Mr. Frick, who was grateful that I didn’t yank his tail out of bed to go and ride a roller coaster with a bunch of animals around.
We decided to drive our car to the Contemporary and we made it there without getting lost. Before we knew it, we were in line to check in and declining an offer to have our picture made between the big plates with the BIG spoon and forks. I’m so over that for some reason.
The place was as busy as a grocery store in the south with a threat of snow. We found some lovely chairs to sit in and we enjoyed watching some really old Mickey cartoons. I’m not joshing when I said we enjoyed it. I mean we really had a nice time with the great view, a refreshed Mr. Frick, our calm and not whiny children and the precious cartoon, that my kids had never seen, of all our favorite Disney characters.
We enjoyed ourselves for a good twenty minutes. Now listen, I would have been ill if we had a tight schedule or a place to be, but we didn’t so I was able to relax and take it all in.
Breakfast was super. How could you not love this!
Or this!
Well look at that. Apparently, we also snapped a picture of a ghost.
I got all brave again and decided to possibly irritate the CM working the Minnie costume to get my picture with her. I’m still a little girl at heart and I didn’t get to eat breakfast with her when I was little. I wonder if they ever look at us adults who make their kids sit while we get our photo ALONE with them like we are craaaazeeee. Probably so. Unfortunately, I will not be framing this one and putting it on my desk.
After our fun and outstandingly good breakfast, we came up with a game plan for the rest of the day. It was our
MNSSHP night and we were free until 6:00. Lil Frick really wanted to ride TT again and Stitch wanted to visit Animal Kingdom. I was game to ride EE and Mr. Frick was game to ride TT, so we split up. We were going to ride the bus to AK and Mr & lil Frick were going to hop on the monorail to Epcot. We decided to leave our car at the Contemp because we would be back to get it after MNSSHP. Of course we weren’t really thinking about how we would get TO the MK since the busses were out of question for a certain diva. But that story is for later.
Stitch and I made our way to the bus stop, but before we got outside we made a pit stop. As we were washing our hands, I was reminded of ‘the girl’. LaLa, I know how happy they make her, so this picture is for her.
Isn’t it great when you are at Disney and a trip report, that someone has worked so hard to bring forth for our enjoyment, enters your mind. That little sink made me just as happy as it did for ‘the girl’ because I was reminded of a sweet friend. Of course Stitch looked at me like I was crazy and as we exited the restroom. I giggled to myself over the fact that I was so excited to be taking a picture of the bathroom. Add that to the list of the dorky things the Dis has compelled me to do.
