Originally had 12 days booked but changed this to 14 days (already had the 14 day Ultimate ticket). Had a look at my booking details and these have been updated accordingly online by there's no mention of any Gift Card.
Am I supposed to get anything that mentions it? Want to make sure I am getting it or I don't have to chase it up if possible.

(Did recieve my vouchers through the post for accomodation, ticket, Planet Hollywood etc before I added the additional days)

I don't remember any posts about reservations with gift cards. I know there were a few when the offer came out but don't remember anyone posting about booking it. I would get in touch with them, make sure its been added.

I wondered this as well! Although we haven't booked yet, we arrive on the 10th May and are planning to do a week at Disney hotel and a week at a Universal hotel. However, if the offer was going to work out better for us we would go for it. The offer says for arrivals UP TO 18th May but whenever I tried to check for a price for the full 2 weeks from the 10th May it made no mention of the gift card offer :confused3

Just been looking at the Disney UK site and a few 14 night + ticket stays do come up with a red line mentioning a $ gift card either on the initial page where you select a hotel (eg Values like Pop) or after you select a hotel (mods and above I think as I tried the Dolphin)

I've booked to get free gift card if you stay in a mod you get $550 if you stay at deluxe then its $1000 and a value is $300 i think. I did have to ask for it though, i booked through Virgin but i did it from the phone no given on disney uk website thinking i was was booking direct but virgin answered the phone, there is no mention of it on my invoice though:confused3. You have to book the 14 day ultimate ticket at the same time,
Hope this helps:)

Got my updated documents through the post today but no mention of a gift card whatsoever. Will call them tomorrow to see what's what.

Ok, found out what's wrong.
Apparently I paid the deposit for the booking on the 30th August and the promo didn't start until the 6th October. Did assume it was based upon when you paid the full balance off.
Therefore the only way I can get the gift card is to cancel my booking and re-book and incur a booking fee whatever that may be.

Not worth the bother. Would cost more than the GC to cancel and then there's the possibility I couldn't rebook (not sure if they could do things instantly or if the room goes back onto the system thus allowing someone else to get in there first). No availability for the period I'm staying.

I'll stick with what I've got and learn to play the system better in future.

They would be able to do it instantly by phone, only problem is then you lose out on the 5% cashback you get buying online.

Interesting.

I have also noticed that VH seems to be handling the Disney UK bookings (at least the flight inclusive ones). There was a sudden change about 6 weeks ago when I noticed that during certain hours it would go through to Virgin Holidays. Also email correspondence seems to be mixed, some coming from Open Ride and others from Virgin Holidays. A bit irritating when you have paid several thousand for a holiday and you aren't necessarily dealing with the people you thought you booked with!

I do agree with you though about asking / being specific about what deals you are getting when phoning. I had my Magical Express confirmed over the phone at the time of booking and again on a subsequent phone call. It wasn't on my invoice/confirmation papers so I rang again and found out that it wasn't added. Every time I make a payment or ask for confirmation about something I ask them to put in on paper and send it to me in the post. It is a little concerning that when you are across the Atlantic if there are any questions regarding what you did and didn't get included, it would be a hassle to try and sort it out without wasting a significant amount of time. I say always be safe and get the print!

By the way, if the booking is flight inclusive, the deposit per person is £135, which is the amount you forfeit if you cancel

Yes my holiday is flight inclusive, i'm quite happy to book with virgin but agree you do have to check everything and get in writing, thats why i'm a bit worried theres no mention of gift card on invoice, i think i'll give them a ring tomorrow just for peace of mind, also now you've mentioned it i have nothing on invoice about magical express either:worship:
