After having a late night, we decide to sleep in, well Scott, Glenn and I, Val is always up early, I managed to persuade her that if she got a coffee for me from the food court I would get out of bed, but I lied. After drinking the coffee, I get up and get ready; getting the boys up was another story.
We eventually get out about 10.30 and decide to bus it there, my bright idea was to get the MK bus and then the monorail, I always enjoy the preview ride around some of the park first. It is really strange how Epcot has grown on the boys over the years, it was always difficult to get them there without bargaining trips to MK at a certain time, but they both love it now.
A great family tradition is always to ride Spaceship Earth first, it does not matter how many times we ride it, we still enjoy it like it was the first time. After exiting it is time for me to have another coffee and a blueberry muffin from one of the stalls, while I sorted myself out the boys did the Coca Cola attraction and Val had a quick visit to mousegears. We then decide to have a walk around the countries and find somewhere to eat. Our first stop was Mexico to check out San Angel as we have booked it for New Years Eve; while we were there the boat ride [sorry the name escapes me] was a walk on, so we gave it a go. Then off to Norway to ride Maelstrom, not bad a queue only 20 minutes. After we bypass the film and Glenn gets his passport signed we make quick stops in all the countries around the lagoon so he can get a signature in his book, in France we buy him a picture of the Titanic one of his big interests, Glenn is quite an expert on this subject and has quite a big collection of books, pictures and memorabilia at home so it will make a nice addition to his collection and he will treasure it as it came from WDW and the USA.
We are lucky enough to catch an off kilter show by accident and watch that for some time, then the boys decided on America to eat at. A few burgers later [not Val as she is a vegetarian], we decide as the park is getting quite busy to go back and let the boys have a swim, also we plan on spending all day here on NYE, so did not want to overdue the visit.
We got back to the ASMo by bus in very quick time by about 5pm, the boys went to the arcade and then had a swim, I then realised that if I want to see the Candlelight Processional it has got to be today, this will go down like a lead balloon. Back in the room I say I would like to go back to Epcot to see CP and Illuminations, Val had no problem, but you would have thought the world had ended for the boys. Being an adult I decide to sulk off to Epcot on my own, Val decided to chill out with the boys. I drove there really quickly; this is the first time I have been to a theme park on my own lol I feel really grown up! I head straight over to America and have already decided that I would stand at the back to watch the CP, on the way over hunger strikes, and I am back in the same restaurant in the American section after only 2.5 hours, I am not sad enough to sit in the same spot though or have the same meal lol this time it is a chicken burger and Sprite, even changed my drink. I sat outside and really enjoyed the time on my own although it felt strange not having the rest of the family there. I can remember clearly that for some reason I started to work out how many flights I had made in the last 18 months, you dont know why and I do not know why lol, well I calculated I have made 18 trips across and back over the Atlantic, [9 return journeys], 29 domestic USA flights and 15 flights within Europe. Sorry I am getting boring now, I was actually trying to work out how long I have spent in the USA over the last 18 months both for work and vacations, the answer was 4 months, it is amazing how I feel like this is my second home, but I never learn someone points out to me that I am wearing a Mets hat with Yankee shorts, my friends in New York State would kill me!!
Sorry back to the real world, I get an excellent position to stand and watch the CP, I have only seen this once before during Thanksgiving last year, it is even better than I remember, I listened to the CD non stop during December in the car, but being here is so much better, and also it is Gary Sinase [excuse the spelling] as narrator. I really enjoyed it and maybe the boys would have been bored [especially if I did the flight thing with them here], so it is better that I did not drag them here.
After CP I had to decide illuminations or not, I felt sorry for Val all alone with the boys at the Asmo while I am here enjoying myself, so I decided to go back.
Got back to the ASMo about 10pm went back to the room, honey Im home, but apparently no one else is!! Ok must be in the pool again, no wrong again, so I had a few beers at the bar and then decided to read my book back in the room [ok boring again].
At about 11.30 Val and the boys return, Glenn bursts in and says guess where we have been, now as they were all weighed down by Disney shopping bags I hazard a guess how about Down Town Disney, apparently that was the wrong answer, it was McDonalds at DTD, what no shops? Kids are so funny; to him McDonalds was a highlight, go figure? Glenn we have them in the UK, but not as big as here or with as much choice on the menu I am informed!!
I did say to Val what were they like at DTD, nightmare apparently lol
Anyway after listening to Glenn telling me all about eating a Mcflurry, I manage to finish my book, then Scott starts telling me about the skateboard he is having built tomorrow, all this information was too much and keeps me awake for the next two hours, time to open the next John Grisham novel, and guess what I have a day shopping tomorrow to look forward too.

What Brits well this family buy in Wal-Mart, Belz, Old Navy, and Ron Jons and eat at Ponderosa, while also fitting in a visit to the Magic Kingdom.
