Day 5,.. December 16, 2004.. Magic Kingdom and MGM
Cast... DH

Today was a free day. I thought we'd use our php to see things we didn't get to see the first time around.
We all decided to go back to Magic Kingdom, but weren't sure where we'd end up after that.
MK was open at 8am that day. As soon as we walked into Main Street we saw characters. We got to see Alice, Aladdin, Wendy, that mean cat from Pinocchio, Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Max, Daisy, Donald, Cruella, Lilo, Stitch, etc. Hardly any line. DS wanted to look for a pin in the store on Main Street. He was surprised that Brer Rabbit had followed him into the store. The CM had to come in to get Brer Rabbit. It was so funny.
We went to Fantasyland. We got to ride Dumbo twice with no wait. We rode the teacups 3 times in a row. We were the only ones on the ride. We saw Philharmagic again. The boys rode Buzz 4 more times and Indy Speedway again. We did Pirates of Carribean, Tiki Birds, and Aladdin Carpets (rode that 3 times). We didnt' go on the Jungle Cruise. Why would Disney make a Fast Pass ride not open until 10am? The line was huge. Nobody wanted to wait in the line, so we trecked on. We plan on going back to WDW, so maybe we'll catch that next time.
We stopped to get a drink and use the restroom. We saw Friar Tuck, Robin Hood, and Mad Hatter. We went to Toontown and got photos taken with Minnie, Pooh, Mickey, and 3 Princesses.
By this time it was 11am. As a group we decided to head to MGM. We had a Fantasmic Dinner Package for 4:20pm. On the way out we met with rude CM #2 (the first was a CM in AK who refused to trade an authentic Disney pin with DS2). This was an older man at the exit. When I asked how to get to MGM from MK he rudely told me he didn't have to answer me. Then he started laughing and told me he wouldn't answer my question until I said it very, very nicely with pretty, pretty please at the end 3 times. I told him never mind. He just shrugged his shoulders. Another CM (a younger female) told me this CM is not a happy guy and is a pain in her rear. She told me to take the express monorail to TTC and then a bus. I was grateful. I honestly had no idea how to get from place to place. We hadn't planned to go to MGM. I don't know what that male CM's problem was. We're nice people. He was a big jerk.
MGM took a while to get to. The monorail was fast, but the bus took almost 40 minutes to arrive at TTC. MGM was nice though.
We went to Pizza Planet. We split 2 pizza meals. The kids had fun playing video games. We then went to get photos with Buzz, Woody and Jessie. We were disappointed not to see Bullseye. He's my favorite.
DS rode TOT. We saw Muppets 3D (I like Beaker). We saw Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid. We played Millionaire. DS got #4. I'm kinda stupid. I didn't realize you had to answer all the questions even after the person is in the hot seat. Needless to say we didn't get to the hot seat. A 9 year old girl did, and she had no idea what she was doing. Then another fellow got into the hotseat and won a hat.
We got DS2's face painted with a blue sparkling dragon on it. He loved it. DS didn't want to get it, but opted for a Beaker tshirt.
We waited on the street curb again for the parade. The CMs who talk to guests in their costumes are great. This one lady was a reporter for a gossip column who was asking DS a lot of questions. It was funny.
The parade was nice. I love these holiday themed parades. Today was a little warmer. It was in the mid 60s and cloudy. For a while I believe it would rain, but it didn't. By 3pm my ear was feeling much better.
We went for our PS at Hollywood and Vine. We got the Fantasmic Dinner Package, but didn't even use the Fantasmic tickets. The seating for the show was on the far right. We went early and got seats right in the middle.
Hollywood and Vine was a nice buffet. The food was hot and tasty. The waiter was friendly and refilled our drinks without asking. We still liked 1900 Park Fare better, but this place was tasty. I'd recommend a buffet to anyone.
We were REALLY early for Fantasmic. We arrived at 5:20 pm, and Fantasmic didn't start until 7pm. We talked to some other families, so the time passed pretty quickly. I'm glad we went early. We got good seats. Glad I read DIS because I would have probably chosen seats in the front. Man, that fire was hot. We joked that the people down front probably didn't have any eyebrows after Fantasmic. That fire was so hot.
Fantasmic was awesome. I was startled by the cannon. Here I am a 36 year old mother who got the creeps watching the villians on the screen. Awesome show. After Fantasmic we walked through Osborne lights, but it was packed. It took us a long time to get out of Fantasmic. After 1/2 of the way through DS and DS2 wanted to leave, so we waited for our bus.
We were in the resort and in bed by 10pm.
So far this vacation has been a blast.
Next posting is for Day 7.. MK, AK and DTD. Plus Day 8, our departure day.
