Here's my take:
Kimonos:
I don't think they take reservations, but don't quote me. Maybe check Open Table. You don't have to play the WallyWorld
MDE games. You can also try calling Swan direct. They have had a "dining" extension in the past. Is Kimonos good? Yes. Is it great? No, but it can be very good, not just good. The thing about Kimonos, imo is this: for simple nigiri, it's not over priced. It'll be about as good as one of your standard neighborhood joint at home, and it'll cost about the same, SO, in the realm of DisneyWorld food, it's kind of a bargain. They totally have all of the expensive hipster mayo-maki rolls if you want, but for simple nigiri, I think it's a bargain, and the quality is there.
The Fountain is decent. I'd go for shakes and sundaes and ice cream. I wouldn't go for the sandwiches, but that's just me. The sandwiches are decent, even good, but they are about 2 bucks too much. I'd much rather get the REALLY good hot subs at Fuel (and they are probably the same at the Swan's new "grab and go,") and then go to The Fountain for ice cream treats. The Fountain is also kinda weird in that it's not in its own room. It's kinda just in the middle of a few walkways with short walls acting as barriers. It's almost like sitting in one of those airport restaurants. It's not BAD though. Not bad at all. It's just kind of odd to be at such a nice hotel, in a "restaurant," and if the hotel is busy, there will be people walking around rolling suitcases, and families walking to/from parks. Like I said, it could remind you of sitting at an airport restaurant.
Don't overlook Picabu for burgers or especially the tacos!
If I'm staying at Wally world for 5 days, I'm going to Kimonos twice. I usually stay at Dolphin tho, so it's close. For simple nigiri, it's a bargain when you consider the WallyWorld premium, and the ethnic food in WallyWorld just isn't that great, for the prices
in general. I'd rather pay for really good sushi, than overpay for lackluster <insert ethnic type of food> if that makes sense. Kimonos is not really a splurge, it's just like going to your standard, decent sushi joint at home, but not overpaying for it just because you're in a hotel in Disneyworld. You also might get a decent show if they are doing karaoke.
