The Fort is getting a makeover

We were just there in February and spoke to the consultant about the renovations to the campground. (We were camping in the 800 loop and he was walking around taking notes of the different sites.) He said that it was necessary to clear the area because the aggressive sweet potato vine was killing all of the trees.

He confirmed all of the renovations that have been mentioned in previous posts, so it looks like they're true.

He also said that the current dog park, Waggin Tails, is a trial to see how it is received. There may be additional dog parks coming in the future with separate areas for small and big dogs in other loops. :flower3:

More dog parks...don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I guess it would depend on where they locate them.

He didn't happen to say when or how long the pool renovation will be?:confused3

hmmmmmmm...I wonder if they will have signs saying "YOU MUST BE AT LEAST THIS TALL TO PLAY IN THIS PARK"

Pooches will then need a pass to enter..the whole age thing could get complicated. Excuse me Mr. Rotweiler...are you under three? Really,:rolleyes1 is that in dog years or human years?. It could get ugly.

I was also told last fall that some of the sites were going to be extended and more big rig friendly. They would be called "premium" sites.

I think Waggin' Tails is a cute name for the dog park, that's the first time I've heard someone mention it by name.

If the WL pool is open to FW guests while a supposed pool rennovation is taking place, I will organize an official FW pool outing. We'll meet at the marina in suits with towels, coolers, umbrellas, inflatable pool toys, masks, snorkels, swim fins, radios, portable grills, dogs, and as many kids as we can round up. I will arrange for the big boat that normally goes to MK to take us all in one huge group to WL where we will converge on the main pool and take over. Any overflow will go to the pool at the villas. If it is successful, I will organize one of these field trips for every day I am at the Fort. Take that, WL snobs.

I had a few Kungs last night. My neighborhood Ruby Tuesdays bartender makes it for me. She's got her friends drinking it now. After she pours it in a glass I get her to put a little Morgan on top. MMMMMM MMMMMM GOOD.

My head was hurting a little this morning btw.

We gotta get there EARLY so that we can put our stuff on all "their" lounge chairs, and make sure it stays there all day long. I hear that they really love it when "campground people" come take up all their lounge chairs! :thumbsup2

...should we get some chaw and spit, too? :rotfl2:

I'll wear a speedo and walk around scratching my navel a lot.

Ya gotta smell your finger after scratching your belly button....that really grosses em out.......go one step further and offer for THEM to smell your finger!!!! I cant imagine why they hate us soo much!!!!
