The new pool construction is supposed to start in Jan 09. They are going to be adding hot tubs to both meadows pool and wilderness pool [the cabin pool]. Most all loops will have updated sites. I think the 100,200, 1600-1900 will not be refurbished they are in wetlands and can't be redone. The sites will be made much wider, with wider aprons to make backing into sites easier. Site will also be made longer and shrubs will be added to sides of sites. New picnic tables and updated grill also. The 800 loop is supposed to be done first starting in July or Aug. The updates will take 2 1/2 years. I got info from talking to the manager, Jean when I was there in Feb.. In another 6 month I was also told we would be able to reserve specific sites when making reservations.

Yo Disneycampers, ya need to cut that barrel just a bit closer. Not a bad looking quarterhorse from whaI I can tell of the picture.

I know that is my DD8 on her pony and she didn't cut barrels close. She has now moved up to a big horse who hugs the barrels.

I was so disappointed that we didn't get to meet her on this trip. I think I saw her on a scooter, coming from the campfire one, night, I had just went to the meadows store to get kungaloosh ice, and was zipping back to the TT on the golf cart, when I passed a lady on a scooter, that waved and yelled "HOWDY", it didn't hit me that it was her until I was half way back and then it was too late. The night that we did go to the campfire, Ms Julie was there.

Ah, a hot tub - yet another bathing choice at FW. If the showers are busy, I can now bring my frankensoap to the Meadows pool and have a nice hot bath. Don't forget to bring a towel!

Requesting a specific site would be great...especially when trying to either include or avoid pets. I guess this explains some of the clearing that's been described. If they are planning on making the sites wider and then planting again..makes sense.
I do wonder WHEN the pool renovations would start....and how long they would anticipate that taking. I know the Caribbean Beach pool renovation is taking a LONG time..it won't be opened until September. Which is fine..they do offer "quiet pools" in each of the island areas. In the case of FW...where is it that people are going to swim if not at the fort. I wonder if using the WL pool during the renovation and improvements will be permissable? Even if it's not..they're bound to see it happen anyway.

Manager Jean is a woman, and very, very nice.

Mean Gene is not female and is only nice when it's to his advantage. He's a site attendant who feels he's entitled to enforce the rules at FtW. Mean Gene drives an older FtW Chevy Pick-Up and wears a straw cowboy hat.

In the case of FW...where is it that people are going to swim if not at the fort. I wonder if using the WL pool during the renovation and improvements will be permissable? Even if it's not..they're bound to see it happen anyway.

They will probably allow FW guest to use the WL pool. When the Poly pool was under construction, guests were allowed to use the GF and Contemporary pools. So, I would guess they would open the WL pools temporarily for FW guests.

Yeah, that would work. That's a very nice pool -- Storm Along Bay
