The Fockers Made Me Do it…A TR written by Peer Pressure - Updated 9/26/08 Thank You!!

Are they gonna have a new character meal?? Power Rangers or Pirates would be great!! Now there's gonna be very few character meals !!

WOuldn't that be great, especially since they don't have much geared towards boys. Jimmy would either one of those!:thumbsup2

I had heard one rumor that the Diamond Horseshoe Review was going to reopen as a restaurant with a Woody's ROund Up Character meal. THat was several months ago and I never heard aything else about it again:confused3

Today was our last full day:sad1: . We woke up, chilled, did some packing and got ready to go. We were meeting mom at the MK at 11:30am. We had 12:05 ADR’s at the Plaza Restaurant. We meet Denise and the kids at the bus stop and soon we are on our way to the Magic Kingdom.
We get there right at, or at least pretty close to, 11:30. We proceed through security and through the turnstiles in record time. As we start in we notice that all the Halloween decorations are up. They were neat, but Halloween decorations in August is just wrong, but here are some pictures

We start down main street and the trolley with some singers/dancers are there so we stop to take in the last portion of the show.

At this point I notice how uncrowded the MK seems, when according to touring plans this was supposed to be an 8 day. We get to the Plaza and check in. They tell us that it is going to be a little while because a. we were at least 20 minutes early and b. we were a party of 8 so we need 2 tables so they have to wait until 2 close together clear out. Because of this Denise take everyone’s tickets and goes to get Splash Mountain FP’s. Of course about 4 minutes after she left, we were called to be seated. I sat with the 3 kids. Denise, Jim, mom, and Andrew sat at the other table. (THEY OWE ME BIG TIME:headache: ) I guessed what Denise would eat, so we didn’t have to wait to order. Denise got a cheeseburger which she said was really good. Mom, Jim and I all got the rueben which was as awesome as I had heard (Thanks for the recommendation Mo!:thumbsup2 ). Jimmy and Matt got the grilled cheese and Rose got PB & J, which was on actual bread!

After lunch we had some time to kill before the SM fastpasses so we went to the DSA to come with a plan. Mom was heading out and we were going to head over to Adventureland to ride Pirates, which only Andrew and I had ridden. As we were planning to do this the family fun day parade was getting ready to start so we decided to check it out. While were waiting the PP photographer was just hanging out so we grabbed some photpass pictures taken.

Here is the Family Fun Day Parade. It was cute, the kids got a kick out of the characters anyway.

From there we head over to SM and Jimmy decided he didn’t want to get wait so Jim stayed with him while the rest of us rode. We had a great time, and only got a little wet this time. After that we headed into Pirates, which was only a 10 minute wait. After that Jimmy, Matt and Rose wanted to ride Astro Orbitor so we make our way over to Tommorrowland. Jim and Andrew take the kids on Astro Orbitor which only had a 5 minute wait! While they did this, Denise and I shopped! After Astro Orbitor we rode the People Mover (TTA). The kids all loved this and it is one of mine and Jim’s favorites.

TTA.jpg

After our tour of TL we got to see the Carousel of Progress. We all loved it, except Andrew (Teenagers…he loved IASW but hated CoP:confused: ). After CofP we got FP’s for Andrew to ride with whoever and then headed over to toontown. We rode Goofy’s Barnstormer and then toured Mickey and Minnie’s Houses.

After that Rose and Matt wanted to check out Donald’s boat, but Jimmy still didn’t want to get wet. We kept Jimmy with us and Denise took the kids onto Donald’s boat. After letting the kids play for a few minutes we headed back to TL so I could ride Space Mountain with Andrew. We rode and were back with the group in 8 minutes. From the there we went to Monsters, Inc. We had a lot of fun with this one. Jimmy has a favorite joke so we submitted and it was picked. He was so excited. The joke…

What does the ocean say to the beach?........Nothing it just waved!

After MI:LF, Jim and Jimmy went to ride Space, Denise and I took the kids to watch Dream Along with Mickey. However, the skies were graying over and the weather is not looking promising. After sitting in front of the castle for about 10 minutes the announcement came that Dream Along with Mickey was cancelled. At this point Jimmy was tired (It was about 6:30pm) so I made the decision that we were going to head out back to Pop. Denise decided to stay and try and do a couple more things. (Bad move in my opinion as her kids were already whining about being tired, but hey they aren’t my kids;) ) We say our goodbyes and I head off into the emporium because there were a few things I wanted to get before we left. I texted Jim and told him where I was. He and Andrew came and met us. I picked up the couple of things I wanted to get, and when we came out the parade was going to be starting in 15 minutes or so. We got a great spot right in from of the Candy Shop so we decided to wait and see it one last time. While we were waiting I ran into the Candy Shop and picked up a few more things for neighbors and stuff. When I came out they made the announcement that the parade was going to be postposed for 30 minutes. At this point it is 7:0oishpm and Jimmy is tired. We asked him if he wanted to wait and he said no, that he just wanted to go back to the room. So that is what we did.

We got back to POP, dropped everything off in the room, and then headed to Everything Pop for something to eat. We ate, then Andrew headed to the arcade and we took Jimmy back to the room for bath and bed. He was asleep fairly quickly. Jim went back to arcade (read…bar) to check on Andrew. I packed.

When Jim and Andrew came back to the room they had said Denise came into the Arcade to give Andrew the arcade card that she had bought for the kids, but didn’t use all the points on. She told him to use it and get whatever points, etc. Jim and Andrew said the kids were crying and could barely stand they were so tired and Denise was just miserable:sad2: . Not my problem;) . We finished up packing everyone up and then it was lights out.

Tomorrow we were meeting mom & dad fro breakfast and I wanted to checkout early so that we would have some time to let Jimmy run around the resort a little bit.

Next Up…So long, farewell, and who was tagged by the TSA!

I check the message and the message says "I'm watching you Focker" I look around, and there at the other end of bank of turnstiles is T! ...

We get to the rope drop point and there are T, Andy, Maddie and Evan...

We chat some more and then T spots Kate and her family a few groups behind us.
Excellent stalking Fockers! :thumbsup2

On our way the Power Rangers came out. So we took the time to see them. Jimmy wanted his picture taken, but only if I would go with him (Hey it's progress!).
Absolutely! Good job Jimmy! :cool1:

Is the TSA the new Dream Team? ;)

Today was the day I was not looking forward too, it is departure day:sad2: . Stitch woke us up for the last time, we all got dressed and packed our last minute items. Our boarding passes and ME passes were delivered sometime before we woke up. I love that! :thumbsup2

Jim runs to luggage services and grabs a luggage cart so we can shlep our suitcases down to luggage services to hold. Just as he returns mom shows up, so we use the luggage cart to take stuff to her car that she is taking home with her. Then we load up our luggage and head over to the luggage service to drop off our bags for them to do whatever it is they do with them so they arrive in Philadelphia safely. Mom & dad drive the car over to the main building and we head into Everything Pop for one last Disney Breakfast. I don’t remember what everyone had, I just remember chatting and being sad that we were leaving.

After breakfast mom & dad take off for home and we have about an hour to kill before we have to be at the ME. I sit outside in the DSA with everyone’s carryon bags and Jim takes Jimmy and Andrew into the arcade to blow the rest of the arcade credits.

Then it is time to go to get on the ME bus. We got a great driver, who played Aladdin on the ride so Jimmy was entertained. ;)

We get to MCO and make our way to the 3rd Floor so we can go through security. We had time to kill, so we looked around some of the stores. As we were in one store my cell phone buzzed that I had a text. It was from T. They were waiting for the ME bus and would be leaving for the airport soon. I was really hoping to see her again. We were both flying Airtran, so I knew we would be in the same terminal.

After our jaunt through the stores, we grab a snack and then head through to security. I have to say that compared to Philly, MCO is organized and the people are really nice. I go through with Jimmy and hand the TSA guy both of our boarding passes. He asks Jimmy his name, which Jimmy tells him then asks him how old he is. Jimmy holds up four fingers and the guy looks at him and says “oh, you’re 3”.:confused3 Yeah, real Einsteins they have working for the TSA.

Then Andrew goes through, he asks Andrew his name and then asks him Andrew how old he is. Andrew says I’ll be 15 next week. The guys looks at him and says great, how old does that make you today?:rotfl2:

After we get through that part we go through the metal detectors. We take off our shows, turn on our electronics, etc. Jimmy goes through first, no problem. I go through, no problems. Andrew goes through, no problems or so we think. As we are putting our shoes on waiting for Jim another TSA guy goes whose bag is this. I look up and he is holding up Andrew’s brand WDW duffel bag. He says I have to search this bag:eek: . Andrew goes over and I told Andrew wait for me, they can’t search without an adult being there.

The guy was very nice and explains that they saw something suspicious, etc and they are checking for precautionary measures blah, blah, blah. I knew he didn’t have anything in there because I packed his bag. Andrew however was a nervous wreck and he just kept talking and talking and talking. Finally I told him Shut up and let the man do his job, don’t give him ideas, let he find what he thinks he is going to find, etc” Andrew just kept talking till finally it dawned on us what they saw……..

Remember those really cool salt and pepper grinders that Andrew bought for his dad at DTD? Yup they were round, shaped like a snowglobe. Once he looked at them, determined there was no liquid in them, he repacked Andrew’s bag (very nicely I must add) and we were off.

We go the gate and Jim decides he needs to go to the men’s room. Jimmy wants to wait and go on the plane but Andrew goes with him. When they come back Jimis hysterical laughing. When he tells me why, I :lmao: . As he and Andrew were walking to the men’s room room Andrew let out a long sigh of relief, when Jim asked him what was wrong he told Jim he was afraid that they were going to do a cavity search.:scared1: :rotfl:

They call us to board and we do so without any hassle. T texted me just as we were boarding that they had arrived at MCO:sad2: . I was sad that I wouldn’t get to see her again, at least until the next Fockerfest.

We take off on time and arrive in Philadelphia about 15 minutes early. Jim and I had to laugh at Andrew again though. Andrew was nervous of flying, you could tell. He held on for dear life during take off and landing. When we landed in Philly and the wheel hit the ground he says “boy that’s a lot of turbulence”. I said dude, that was the ground;) .

We all make a potty stop on our way to baggage claim and make it to the baggage belt just as our luggage is coming down the ramp. We had our luggage in record time. We called for the car and were on the road and home by 6:00ish.

It was a great trip to the world. I loved showing Andrew everything I love about WDW, even though he had some teen angst moments. I loved sharing our trip with Denise, Matt and Rose…even though there were some bumps. I especially loved meeting all of my Focker friends and I can’t wait until we are able to plan another Fockerfest, which according to Jo will be August, 2010.  Everyone mark your calendars now!:thumbsup2

My most lasting impression of this trip however, will be the time I got to spend with Jim and Jimmy, and my mom & dad. After the things that have been going on around here lately Disney helps me to remember that we all need to dream sometimes and our time at WDW allows us to do that, even if it is only briefly!

Next Up….

Photpass Pictures Finally came and the Disc is in one piece.

Piktchers????

Where???

 for your last day.

And  for you. ;)

That is hilarious, Janet! But it serves him right for all the texting and walking ahead he did on the trip! :rotfl2:

Glad your flight home was uneventful. It's always nice to end a great vacation on a happy note! Hopefully I'll be doing the same in a month!

After breakfast mom & dad take off for home

Do you get to see them through the year besides your trip? Do they come for Christmas or anything?

Yeah, real Einsteins they have working for the TSA.

:rotfl:

Andrew let out a long sigh of relief, when Jim asked him what was wrong he told Jim he was afraid that they were going to do a cavity search.:scared1: :rotfl:

Oh, the poor kid. Can you imagine thinking that? :rotfl2:

I especially loved meeting all of my Focker friends and I can’t wait until we are able to plan another Fockerfest, which according to Jo will be August, 2010.

I'm glad you had no issues geting home.

Dude! We ended up at MK on Thursday too! I should have texted you, dangit! :headache:

I was bummed we didn't get to see you all at the airport, that would have been a nice way to end our trip.

T must take all stalking credit for this day:worship: :worship: :worship:
Well, to be honest, I did spot you, but Andy spotted Tim and Kate's DS#1.

That's is? It's over? I'm so very sad! :sad1:

BUT, we have lots of time to plan FOCKERFEST 2010!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks for you sharing your trip, Janet! I loved meeting you and your family! :goodvibes
